You just connect to Steam like you always do, and if you don't have an Internet connection it will automatically launch you in offline mode.

It's true there have been reports of Offline mode not working because the files get corrupted. Honestly you'd have to suffer a power outage for that to happen.

Every game that's 100% updated can be played, even if at the time of connection there's a new update released (obviously, if you're offline the client has no way to know a new update is available). If you leave 1 update at 50% and then try to connect in offline mode you probably can't play. But you can try deleting the update in progress by going to the download file folder on the Steam library and depending on the case it will let you play it.

You can play steam games offline. There is an offline mode and the login details are encrypted onto your drive. I do it all the time when I play in the living room so no one disturbs me while I am on the couch.

That moment when PC makes more gaming revenue than all of the consoles combined which include AAA games. Must be sad.

so that insult's effectiveness is mitigated to zero, because it 100% contradicts the reality of intended dev support for PC.

Just going to let you know that all the hard core esports (multi million dollar tournaments, esports players that are actually celebrities) are PC exclusives.

The only platform that isn't taken seriously is console. I mean, to be fair, it's target demographic is the average gamer who just wants to play "Just Dance 20" , "COD 25" and FIFA 30

@SolidGame_basic: one can never trump the other. Not consistently anyway. These are 2 different worlds of gaming you're talking about. PC gaming is much deeper and complex in every way, especially in gameplay and options. Consoles are more tuned for casual gamers. The best example I could use to illustrate the differences would be a game like Civilization IV on PC, compared to Civ Rev on 360/PS3. C4 is a thousand times deeper than it's console cousin. It's on a different galaxy all together.

I hardly think these 2 worlds of gaming should ever be compared to one another. It's like beer vs hard liquor: they're both there to create the same effect, but in the end it's your preference towards your own personal tastes that will make the decision on what you think is better.

And consoles get all the best games. We don't need to start some pathetic petition to get a game like PC scrubs do.
