The PC is the platform where indie developers can take a game like Team Fortress, a mod for Quake, and turn it into what we know it as today. It's the place where a single map can turn into an entire game genre that even is making its way onto the consoles (DotA, tower defense maps). It's the platform where the small sub-genres can live and thrive.

Why would anybody hate on this platform? It's the reason we have Halo, Call of Duty (which started on the PC no doubt), Gran Truismo, GTA... everything. The PC is the last free place to make games. The console really don't support any sort of indie game development. Companies charge tons of money just to get the development kits and licence games onto their platforms. Without the little guy, how can new ideas be put into games that really change a genre for the best?

All we got from console gaming is matchmaking and regenerating health. What we got from PC gaming and what we continue to get from PC gaming is changing what we play. The hate for the center of innovation and revolutions in gaming is alarming. This hate of PC gaming is what is stagnating gaming and turning companies onto things like motion controls and social networking in video games."

would you listen to yourself? you are comparing multiple systems to one system and bragging that multiple systems come out on top. look at the spreadsheet. the pc has more overall high scoring games than any one console. if you look at just exclusives, the pc has more of them than all three consoles combined. the only way to top the pc is to use multiple systems against it. why are you proud of that?

Target actually has larger PC sections than console sections. It spans 1.5 aisles, and has it's own special "Specials" section where they put out big releases like Sims, Total War, Warcraft, Starcraft, and I think they've got some ads up for Civ V now! Compare to the 360/Wii/PS3 which each have about a 3rd of an aisle each. Pretty pathetic.

I also lol'd at the comment about rental companies not renting out PC games. As if PC games work like that.

It reminds me of when I used to work retail and this women was convinced because she couldn't open an Excel document that the government was uploading viruses to her PC through satellites, despite the PC not being connected to the internet.

Exclusive games aside people forget PC multiplats are better anyways. BF:BC2 for example on PC has 32 players online, better graphics, DX11, etc. And as we all know PC has higher standards than console games.

No one on console pushes the limits like some of these developers did on PC, until the bean counters tied them all up and threw them on the console wagon. Very true. Target usually has an awesome PC section and usually if you go to the bargain section you can find some pretty sick games from a few years ago for just 5 dollars. The Best Buy where I live has a PC section that dwarfs the PS3 and Xbox 360 section combined. It has everything even plane packs for FSX.Ragingbear505
