Btw longshot, I would delete the word "idiot", it could get you suspended, trust me.

thanks for the warning, but suspended? been there, done that; i was suspended til 3 hours ago. Go me

It's ok to be called an idiot, is'nt it?:) But the sound on most of the exclusives for the PS3 is pretty good compared other games. Maybe not a BD movie quality, but at least it's dvd quality, which none of the other consoles have.

Oh please, dont take it personally. Anyway, the only PS3 game in which in noticed that was MGS4, and i still think other games (Gears 2, OoT, SSBB) have better audio not just because of the audio quality but the audio itself (voice acting, soundtrack, etc). Previous MGS titles had better soundtrack, at least the one i played myself (MGS2 on xbox)

Probably. The 360's Xenos graphics chip is more powerful than the PS3's but the physics and AI might suffer because the Cell (albeit more difficult to program for) is ultimately more powerful than the 360's cpu.

Come on!! Not only is it impossible for the X360 to get the same graphics, but it is impossible for it to have the amazing sound the exclusives on the PS3 have. People does'nt think of this much, but the PS3 also runs high resolution sound and that demands a lot of bandwidth and processing power. Not even PC games know what 7.1 PCM sound is. The X360 only runs compressed Dolby Digital, not even DTS.

And the developers also has to make some levels look worser than others as well. They have to use a lot of these tricks to fit the game on one dvd.....admit it.

Martin_G_N

'high resolution sound' you sir, are and idiot :)

Well...if you are using an X360 or a PC, you probably don't know what I'm talking about. But with an home cinema, you can easely hear the difference between a multiplatform game and a PS3 exclusive. The sound samples are better and the sound format is better. But you stay with your 64kbps sound samples.

I think you completely missed what they were talking about, you said "Resolution" which refers to an image, what you meant to say was "Definition".

The Cell lags behind the Xenon in Branch Prediction and General Purpose Processing. The only thing the Cell has over the Xenon is FLOP power, overall both CPU's are pretty even as far as gaming CPU's go.

Let me explain why I said that.

The Xenon has 3 General Purpose cores, each with Branch Prediction and each with 2 hardware threads.

The Cell has 1 GP core (The PPE) and only that core has BP and GP, none of the SPU's have this.

Of course the 360 could. The 360 is capable of higher polycounts and higher res textures than the PS3. Thats why its easier to port games from PS3 to 360 than it is to port games from 360 to PS3. What is apparent is that Sony has contracted some great technical and artistic talent in insomniac and Naughtydog.EG101

and santa monica and guerilla games and quantic dreams and media molecule and kojima productions and.............phuleeeeze!!

yes because graphics are all about textures...

Heh, you roll your eyes but textures are on pretty much everything. They are on every character model, every piece of environment, particle effects, buildings, pretty much everything but the sky. So yeah, graphics are centered around textures more than you think.

Unless you have a firm grasp of what the 360's hardware can handle through making games, you can't say if it can handle it or not, and I'm pretty sure that doesn't apply to anyone on these boards.

With a dedicated team, it totally could.

I'm willing to bet that next year there will be a equally stunning game graphic wise to compare to uncharted 2, Microsoft just hasn't relesed the news yet.

I'm going to say it probably could.

The nagging issue though is that Sony's first party just has more overall talent then Microsoft (thats just being a realist)

If you look at multiplatform games we all mostly agree that their generally superior on the 360 but when it comes to exclusives available for the console Sony wins that battle hands down.

Considering how small the levels are, i guess 360 could easilly do those visuals

The real question is if PS3 could do Alan Wake visuals with that scale

yes alan wake mass effect and gears 2 look just as goodcoolnessmancool

Mass Effect doesn't look just as good. Not even for the PC does it look just as good. And that's only judging from the first game.

We haven't even been able to differentiate PC footage from 360 footage in regards to Alan Wake yet.

As for Gears 2, we'll have to see more Uncharted 2 footage. However, as far as I can tell, the first Uncharted already rivals Gears 2.

so you must have played both games to know Uncharted2 have small levels and Alan wake has larger scale levels, right?? So far we've seen very little on Uncharted2 and practically nothing on the 360 version of Alan wake..

back on topic, this question cannot be answered since the uncharted series is exclusive to PS3 so not being a multiplat one cannot compare versions...

Until the game is actually out...i can't make a single comment To me videos have shown that Killzone 2(while definantly darker) has some incredible visuals and looks to be a more immersive game than uncharted was...but i would also argue that Resident Evil 5 looks stunning as well... But i will save my final judgement for when they release.

Alan Wake has a huge open free roaming world, vast scale

Uncharted is like the first, small tiny levels, usually a closed path to everything

And how exactly are we going tu judge U2's graphics in the first place? We have seen so little of it that it is impossible to tell. One point to consider, RE5 looks, if not better, extremely close, and it is also being made for the 360.

Also i will wait before i judge for some gameplay vids for Uncharted2 not just in-game cut-scenes, though i believe U2 will look amazing considering the first game was visually impressive back in 2007 (and still is today)..

My point wasnt that Alan Wake wont have larger scale levels considering its an open world game but how did the other guy know Uncharted2 will have small levels, considering we have seen very little for the game...

and again can anyone link some gameplay footage for Alan Wake on 360 so i check them out...

Yeah I reckon it could. Uncharted places a whole lot of emphasis on character models, and there is some seriously ugly texture work going on in that game. Some cutscenes 'accidentally' sweep past some truly gnarly ones that I wouldn't have noticed if the camera sweeped past them. It's different from Gears of War 2, which takes a bit of effort from character models and places them into the environment. Also, just got off from playing Gears of War 2. Man, are the graphics pretty insane in that game. Apart from the animation, I believe it's better than Uncharted.

It all depends and only Naughty Dog can answer this question. The PS3 and 360 have similar and different specs. So each system offers a strong point in certain areas than the other. Though I feel that the graphics could be achieved on the 360.
