I'm highly excited for FF XIII and Versus... but I'm even more eager to find out how soon Disgaea 3 and White Knight Chronicles will hit American shores. PS3'ers are in for a treat when Eternal Sonata hits this Spring also.

Eternal Sonata is complete and utter trash.

LO is the only 360 game im excited for this year (maybe banjo 3, but i dont think that has a release date yet does it?)

FF XII was great! Level 5 is awesome and I'm eagerly awaitingly WKC... but dismissing FF XIII is funny to me. It definitely looks to be the most epic jrpg experience to date.

Anyway, this is why the PS3's rebound in Japan is so good for us anyway... more Japanese devs are looking at the success in Japan and Europe and focusing more attention on the console now. There were 3 other jrpg's released in Japan this year, which may or may not eventually end up over here... my most anticipated of which is Disgaea 3!!!

Blue Dragon > Eternal Sonata, the reasons why. Both had crappy characters, Eternal Sonata's were slightly more annoying though. The story sucked in both mostly because the characters were so annoying. Eternal Sonata had no sidequests, no battle depth, repetitive enemies, small environments and basically no reason to keep playing besides the nice looking graphics. Blue Dragon had alot of sidequests, had a pretty decent battle system, and had alot to explore, thus Blue Dragon is the better game.

Yawn. FF > LO.

Blue Dragon is actually pretty good. It's first 5 hrs are quite boring, but it picks up toward the middle of the first disc, and it gets very fun when you gain all the skills of your first class, and you start cross-classing.

Speaking of Folklore, I have to admit, I was extremely excited for it before it released, but I decided to hold off on buying it. Recently, I finally got a high speed connection and I downloaded the demo, which was beyond horrible with the lack of voice acting and constant freeze frame, comic strip style cut scenes. Even Game Republic's previous effort, Genji: Days of the Blade was a much better game in my opinion, lol. So, I really do not know what IGN was smoking when they gave Folklore a 9.0.

Back on topic, an 8.2 for Lost Odyssey is a great score, and it is looking like a definite day one purchase for me. I am also confident in saying that I firmly believe that I will come away with the impression that Lost Odyssey and Folklore should not even be mentioned in the same sentence. Of course I will have to play it first though. Anyone know if they are going to release a demo?

I don't know. Maybe because I thought Uncharted was every bit as enjoyable if not more so comparing it to Gears of War, which is "AAA". People who only buy games based off of one information source are followers not leaders!;)

Once again, your opinion. The battle system in Blue Dragon was not as enjoyable as Eternal Sonata in my own opinion. That combined with the silly story and ugly graphic design just led to me not caring whether or not there was any more to explore in Blue Dragon.

Yep it is AAA on IGN but it was AA on gamerankings in december when all cows claimed it to be GOTY.

This isn't about IGN or Gamespot but the fact that this game got a AA score on a big reviewsite and all the cows hate on it because it isn't AAA when if you look at the big picture so isn't any PS3 exclusive if you want to ignore the ign score.

And to all you people who hate on a RPG because it isn't AAA. You aint a JRPG fan anymore.

Folklore was just fun to play though, and unique. Regardless, IGN has different reviewers for different platforms.

Hmmm, there are still plenty of AA (even A) rpg's that are worth buying. In fact, I think that LO will be one of them. It's just not worth buying a 360 for if you don't already own one.

You shouldn't decide to buy games based on review scores. You should actually read the reviews to see if the games seem enjoyable to you.

I totally agree thats why I'm saying I would only buy a 360 if it had that AAA JRPG because my favorite genre tend to be JRPG. Why spend $300 on a system that has only AA of my favorite gengre when I can spend that money on games on my current system. I don't know about you buy $300+ is a lot of money for me so the only thing that can make me spend that much money is something of AAA quality.

Also yeah I know its not about the score thats why I know reading the LO review I could just spend that $60 on just the game not even the 360 for games like persona 3 and rogue galaxy (which I am).

Because Uncharted has universally received rave reviews. Whether high AA or low AAA, it is generally agreed that this is an action game that you want to play. It's about more than the score... it's about what the reviewer has to say about the game.

Not only have early reviews of LO been less than flattering... the previews have not been that 'hot' as well. It's still decent... just not the type of game that makes you want to buy a system. LO is more in the same league as Heavenly Sword. HS was a great game, but I wouldn't have bought my PS3 just for that game... I would've bought it for HS + Warhawk + R&C + Uncharted though. I don't think ppl buy systems for ONE game (with the exception of a Halo, GTA, or FF)... most buy systems for the variety of games that come out. That has been the playstation's strong suit.

HAve you played all these supossed AA PS2 Games. Have you played LO to know wether it is an AA game. If knot then you still letting the media tell you what is AA and what is AAA.

Not to bud in but, Why should he go out and spend $300+ to see if it is anygood(eventhough IGN said it was AA) when he has a PS2 and he can just experience those games hes not buying into media hes just being a smart spender

Then why should anyone buy a PS3, Wii, 360 or a new gaming PC?

yes it does...in your original post you asked if PS3 owners would buy a 360 for ONE AA JRPG which is really kind of silly. While Im sure LO is a nice game Im not going to fork over $400 or whatever to play this one rpg that really isnt a AAA game.

While there were nice AA games on the PS2 Im sure Xbox fans werent dropping money to play them but hey if you had a PS2 they were a nice game to pick up. Its the same situation if I already had a 360 I might check it out but Im not dropping more cash for a 360 and a "decent" game.

Because Uncharted has universally received rave reviews. Whether high AA or low AAA, it is generally agreed that this is an action game that you want to play. It's about more than the score... it's about what the reviewer has to say about the game.

Not only have early reviews of LO been less than flattering... the previews have not been that 'hot' as well. It's still decent... just not the type of game that makes you want to buy a system. LO is more in the same league as Heavenly Sword. HS was a great game, but I wouldn't have bought my PS3 just for that game... I would've bought it for HS + Warhawk + R&C + Uncharted though. I don't think ppl buy systems for ONE game (with the exception of a Halo, GTA, or FF)... most buy systems for the variety of games that come out. That has been the playstation's strong suit.

Yeah I agree. I was just annoyed when a lot of people were trashing and attacking the game whan it got AA

Dude I don't know about you but I havent bought any next gen system yet. Personally I only wait till that AAA game comes out and **** slaps me into buying it because even though I have money I'm not gonna spend $300+ on something I dont need.

According to the standards that have been set for the PS3 and the game scores it gets. And considering the Fact that PS3 owners are notoriously known for being jRPG lovers.

You would think that they would be running out to get a 360 now seeing that Lost Odyssey why not AAA but still a dam good AA title.

It's looking like Lost Odyssey is a dam good jRPG for the 360.

So riddle me this question is the 360 WORTHY now? Being the 360 has cleary made huge strides in the RPG market. And have some decent jrpg's now also.

So are you PS3 fans tempted to get a 360 now. I mean there is nothing worth noting for the PS3 and jrpg's until atleast 09 for FF.

About the score, I'm a bit surprised. Never thought it would be a good game but then again, IGN tends to overrate some of their games. Meh, who cares, lets just wait for Gamespot's review.

Uncharted scored AAA on IGN and before you jump the gun and say "this is Game Spot" he is using IGN scores...

Yep it is AAA on IGN but it was AA on gamerankings in december when all cows claimed it to be GOTY.

This isn't about IGN or Gamespot but the fact that this game got a AA score on a big reviewsite and all the cows hate on it because it isn't AAA when if you look at the big picture so isn't any PS3 exclusive.

And to all you people who hate on a RPG because it isn't AAA. You aint a JRPG fan anymore.

How can you even consider the game AA? We need to wait and see what the majority of the reviewers think before claiming it anything.
