Cows- Why do you hype Killzone?

Just because the original game sucked that doesn't guarantee that the sequel will suck too.

Examples: Street Fighter and Zone of the Enders. Both phenomenal sequels of very mediocre titles.

It gets me thinking though. Sony may have intentionally sabotaged Killzone so that it would be easy to make up for a game that mediocre, it makes total sense. Cause if I was MS & Ninty's competitor in desperate need of a Halo, a Pokemon or a Mario I would intentionally flop a game to mediocre standards then spend millions it making amazing the second time around.:lol:

Lemmings are the only one's that keep "hyping" Killzone. Most of us cows have let it go until Sony shows something. Yeah they messed up by claiming it to be a Halo killer and they made it worse by showing a CGI claiming it to be game footage but, again, cows have let it go. There are other games that are actually being shown that look great besides Killzone. It's not like Sony's success hinges on this one game.      

why not?  the concept/artstyle is feaky fantastic. they just need to get the details down right. then it can be great.

Your right, if everyone thought like that there would'nt be a System Wars:P So in System Wars scores is the only thing that matters.

Scores are all that matter in SW yet they have hype from a 6.9? like its the opposite(9.6) So I want to know why that is, its simple really yet they bash a game that owned them two times on two seperate occasions that scored greater and if your not here to talk about the topic then you are trolling.

Personally, I don't bash Halo. I do think there are a lot of better options and the game is way overhyped in the States. 

If you are doing this for revenge at least be original.

When did I mention Halo? ever? your the one comparing Halo to KZ over and over again... and thats exactly what my third paragraph is about... if a game is hyped to be greater than the reigning champ, of course reviewers are gonna be dissapointed and score it lower... it's not the games fault Sony called it that... (which made people call it that.. apperently your quite bitter...

And yes... I have played Halo, for many hours against friends, and many hours of the seond online in splitscrean and vs. 4 player (and 1 player with both), oh and a about an hour of the halo 3 beta, at which point me and my brother decided to play GEoW, because it was boring.

Though.. judging by your response, I'm still confident, you (and most KZ haters) havent played KZ.

Who hyped it like a 9.6? That's what you would choose to believe. Like others have stated I haven't seen a topic hyping Killzone at all in the past few months. You seemed to have missed the whole point of this thread. Where did I say there was a flurry of Hype threads? I did'nt, fact is that It is hyped and all I see from fanboys in threads are "PS3 is going to own teh fall, Ucharted, Lair, Heavenly Sword, MGS4, FF13, KZ2" In the past, the only thing that did thread-up was E3 05 Killzone posts, why is KZ2 apart of that statement is the question & the point, sorry if you missed it.

Never said you mentioned Halo. Never said I was a KZ hater. Never said I was a lemming. The same way you think can be applied to other games that get bashed far more than KZ by cows. Go check all the locked Halo 3 threads, go check the 3 stickied "Halo 3 disscussion threads" that have been made so far.

PS. What do I have to be bitter about, I've owned 3 PS2's and have access to all those great games that cows play. o.O I find hypocrites very annoying and cows are it(Sometimes hermits to).

over 20 million euro's budget which is like 25 to 30 US millions

deverlopers on PS forums asking the gamers what they want

supposible using up all 50 gigs of blu-ray plus downloads are promised

 

Personally, I'm having alot of run playing the Warhawk beta. Something about flying around with 4 or 5 others on ur team in jets is just to cool, and landing and whimping ass on the ground when needed.

Killzone 2 is AAA definitely thats why its being hyped.

And when the review is finally up there will be massive ownage. 

Why do cows hype Killzone? Is'nt that like hyping a flop? What basis and foundation does your hype come from...? Killzone PS2 or the E3 trailer cause if its being hyped from the 2 mintues trailer rather than the game, that should tell you how sucky the game itself was.

Whats even worse is that in November of 2004 cows hyped Killzone to be "teh Halo killa" Even Adam Sessler mentioned its purpose in which it failed at. Halo 2 destroyed Killzone and owned every cow that hyped it, now in 2007, in the brink Halo 2 PC, history has repeat itself. Halo 2 managed to own Killzone again despite being a substandard, 2.7 year old port.

Book mark me, u will get owned when e3 is said and done. Killzone will live up to its 2005 CGI and maybe even look better and they will show off more of the game and maybe even a new level that will rock e3. I aint scared of no ownage, but seeing how Uncharted Drak'es Fortune has turned out, has made me a believer that killzone 2 is going to equal that 2005 trailer if not better it, and u will be owned. Squall fears nothing, Book Mark that little trick, lol.

The only time I see Killzone + hype these days is when Lems ask cows to stop hyping the game. Kinda getting the feeling that the lems actually think this game is hyped more than what it is ;)raualex

Here are two things I don't understand.

1) Lemmings keep bashing the cows for hyping Killzone, and yet 9 out of every ten Killzone threads are made by lemmings bashing the game. 

2) Lemmings think that there is no way Killzone for PS3 can be good graphically because the PS2 game flopped.  But they have no problems hyping 360 games they know absolutely nothing about at all as being AAA.

I think killzone 1 was dang fun and had a great concept for an fps, the graphics were great for a ps2 game and we can only expect much more from a developer like Guerilla

Lemmings are the only one's that keep "hyping" Killzone. Most of us cows have let it go until Sony shows something. Yeah they messed up by claiming it to be a Halo killer and they made it worse by showing a CGI claiming it to be game footage but, again, cows have let it go. There are other games that are actually being shown that look great besides Killzone. It's not like Sony's success hinges on this one game.

Oh yeah right don't speak of such obvoius lies. Everytime a cow makes a list of upcoming games Killzone is always on the hyped games list. Or how about this.

Killzone 2 Will be good because...

• Large Budget
• Large Dev Team
• Sony is helping them
• PS3 is more powerful

Those are all the above phrases cows use to hype Killzone. Oh did I mention that Killzone 1 was underated and was actually a good game while Halo isn't that good and is overrated. Yup Lemmings are really hyping Killzone instead of the cows :roll:

I especially like how whenever a new game is announced(Haze & Uncharted) its insta-hyped & compared to other console games as being better. The Have vs. Crysis thread was a doozy.

So because the game scored a 6.9 on PS2 that means the PS3 version will be just as bad? Surely someone who keeps touting how flawed the logic of others is can see the fundamental flaw in that way of thinking.   

Guerilla has a history of making terrible games. I think they have one good game and that's for the PSP. So they have a lot to prove. JiveT

Good point. Which is why I'm not "hyping" this game as the PS3 savior nor the killer app until I actually see in game footage. The fact that so many 360 fanboys are worried about this game is what's really funny to me.

First off, Killzone was NOT a bad game. It was only hyped too much. Second, if you're going to compare a Halo game that was released in 2007 to a killzone game, you should be comparing it to the latest killzone release, Killzone: Liberation, which got an 8.3. 8.3>7

Edit: In KZ: L, they already fixed the flaws from the first game. Now it's just a matter of building its solid base into something special.

Killzone Liberation was'nt hyped to be the Halo Killer. Killzone Liberation is not an FPS. Killzone Liberation is on a handheld. Halo 2 is 2 years older than Killzone Liberation. In your case lets compare Halo CE(PC) to Killzone Liberation, it was a port to and it still got a 9.0.

But since you feel like bringing up Halo 2 PC in this, there's every reason to compare the LATEST Killzone game to a supposedly better & improved rerelease that came out THIS year!

How are they comparible other than them both having guns? Why does'nt it say "First-Person shooter" on the Killzone Liberation page. Why don't I see neither Halo or Killzone in the "Similar games" section of the KZL page? What does' Liberation have to do with anything I said.

Because you were saying that Killzone 3 has absolutely no reason to be any good, when the developers already have a great game in the same series under their belts.  They have the base to jump off of.

I dont hype killzone myself but the reasons probably are: 1. Halo 3 can (possiblity) flop and Killzone can score better. 2. Its very promising according to Sony and Devs and that is keeping our hopes up. Also possible to fail like what bungie said about "real time trailer" of Halo 3 as to Killzone trailer to real time gfx. 3. Because of its budget? Possibly since a big budgeted game can be enormous when it comes out. But flopping will cost much money. 4. Trailer itself. Cows can see a large possibilty of it happening, if not - too bad.
