In all honesty the broadest audience will probably sell the most units. But returns per platform will be different; given that there are no royalties, subscription fees or expensive dev kits to develop on PC.
Crysis 2 is a step backwards. Even though the engine might push Pc hardware and might have better visuals then the 1st. But the design in every other aspect of the game has been consolized. What this means that the game *will* be constrictive on gameplay and level designs in size and other areas, because their is no way any of the consoles would be able to render the large open levels in the 1st Crysis. And Crytek showing all console versions of the game and havent shown any true Pc in game adavantages, makes me believe that the Pc version isnt on the top of the list and or the fact that they arent willing to shown their Pc fans the downgrades they had to do to make the game multiplatform.

The money Nvidia is spending is just so they can attach their logo to promotions of the game, nothing more. There is nothing to force EA to invest that money into the PC version.
Also I've been peeking at the Crysis twitter.

And where is the Pc screenshots or gameplay? I havent seen hardly anything so its not getting much attention on Pc. The streaming method is limiting too, smaller levels of interactivity, poor draw distances and the game looks like a block to block fighting so no open big levels.

That's just PR talk, the truth is the PC version is far superior to the consoles but they don't want the consolites to know it In terms of how the console version of the game compares to what we've seen of the PC version though, we have to say that we've been wholly unimpressed. We may have had a lot of fun playing Crysis 2 on the Xbox 360, but we had a lot more fun playing previous builds on the PC, thanks to better graphics, controls and customisation options.Of course Crytek doesn't show much PC gameplay and is silent about the PC version. They won't introduce the franchise to console gamers while boasting about the much superior PC version...

Good point never thought of it that way.

That does make sense, but how much better would the PC version be, other than the obvious superior graphics and mouse support? In porting it to consoles there is just no way they're gonna beable to achieve what they did with the original. If that WAS the case then Crysis 2 would have to be an entirely different game on PC than what would appear on the consoles. I think this is gonna be one of those situations where the consoles actually drag the PC version down with them. Maybe I'm just talking out of my arse but I think I got a valid point here. Do you really think Crysis 2 is gonna match the greatness of the original when it has to be toned down for consoles? Please take note that I'm not just talking about graphics but gameplay and environment in general.
Those Crysis shots are fake and weren't actual gameplay, fyi.maniacalroosterLol fake? No they weren't. Crysis wasn't released looking like that, but the Cryengine 2 is capable of even more impressive graphics than that, and mods prove it.
We will only know when we try the game.
I thought crysis was goign to be only nice graphics, but the gameplay and sound was just as good if not better then the graphics imo.
So I will wait till I try it to decide if its a step backwards or not.
I think I will miss the Jungle from Crysis, but I have faith in Crytek, they did an amazing job on crysis and crysis warhead.

Is it for certain there won't be a jungle/forest level in Crysis 2?

consoles can't handle huge open worlds, if they do then the quality is degraded, its either one or the other :( consoles are slowing down pc gaming, there should be a game that includes the whole world already. (i know theres a few already but i mean one you can walk and drive around in)[QUOTE="_CaptainHappy_"]
I would love to have this game but unfortunetly i need a computer from 2021 in order to play it.
Filthybastrd
Supposedly it runs better than Crysis did. I remember them saying something about it running about twice as fast as Crysis with the same level of visual fidelity (that's obviously PR bull but the message is that it's supposed to have lower system requirements).
I would hope so, I'll pick it up if it does :)

I'm picking it up regardless ;) I'm sure it can be set to make very high end rigs choke so I'm going to throw SLI'd GTX460's at it or possibly whatever is a high end price/performer at around May next year.
Thank you yearly salary bonus!

You say that like Crysis was some exclusive club which consoles gate crashed. The developers are fully responsible, nobody else.
developers had to limit themselves because they were programming for consoles...[QUOTE="ActicEdge"]

It's from PC gamer; the censor boxes is where the text used to be.
ah ok, just never seen that pic before.first of all, cgi screen of crysis. even on enthusiast it doesnt look like that. secondly, crysis 2 has a different approach. yes, crysis looked amazing, but crysis 2 is going towards a more realistic look. thirdly, they (at least to my knowledge) havent released any pc screenshots/videos otherwise it would make the console versions look less appealing i guess. lastly, far cry looked a lot better than that lmao.yellosnolvr
i agree...i havnt seen a single screen or vid thats claimed to be on pc...every single one ive seen has been on 360...and judging from those...given 6 generations of new gpus over the console cards alone...the game will look amazing on pc...or at least run at huge fps if it looks like 360 version lol

ah ok, just never seen that pic before. It's the first image they ever put out. Before they revealed it would take place in New York.I would like to think that Crysis 2 is a step forward.
I can imagine that it's less strenuous when it comes to getting the same graphical level as Crysis. However, I'm certain that it will still utilize the potential of DirectX 11. Also, didn't Crytek show off their engine on an Eyefinity set-up?
Yeah they didI would like to think that Crysis 2 is a step forward.

Yeah a whole crapload. There are these modules that you put into the suit to give it abilities. The normal abilities are also grouped together.I have a question regarding Crysis 2.
How is the Nanosuit compared to the one in the first Crysis?
Any additions?Lto_thaG

Stop sprouting misinformation, you obviously haven't touched Crysis, because if you did then you'd know that both pictures shown above are actual gameplay and can be run on any PC that can play Crysis. There are TODs (you don't know what these are) that easily blow both of those pics out of the water.[QUOTE="jhcho2"]
2 things:
1) Notice the absence of the HUD in both pictures? They're obviously not actual gameplay. For all you know, the actual gameplay could be running at like a slideshow. We're not talking about slideshows are we?
2) The second screenshot is just dark in everything. It's a trick. Overdone shadows conceal texture flaws. In that respect, the first screenshot, despite being a demo version, is still the winner. At least everything is visible and clear.ocstew
Sorry, but you are wrong. The first pic is from the alpha, not the final game. You can tell because the design of the scope is different from that in the finished product. Check any screenshot.

No I meant, that those could easily be gameplay and there a mods that replicate the first screenshot. The way he worded it was to imply that that without a HUD these aren't gameplay and are bullshots. He also implies that screenshots of this quality would be running at a low fps which is obviously bullcrap.Yes it did.. LINK http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=shZzYkpl5Nk&feature=related No it didnt, that was mods in a small tiny map made for presentation. Same goes for the people above my post talking about aftermods which are clearly not suited for comparison because its not how the company released the game but how people moded it on more powerfull hardware than when the game was released.[QUOTE="strangeisland"]

Wow.. Really? If you are honestly using that defense you have no place whatsoever to make the claims you have been making. Disabling the hud is literally 1 command.
