I think its more of a preference....Original looks better in the last two. It's a decent mod though.

Some of the modificaitons are outstanding, and truly showcase why Pc gmaing is just so far ahead of consoles.
Others show prefrence, rather than improvement.
Like the shadows in the 2nd shot. The sharper shadows are not realistic. The shadows would have been diffused, the original shot with the soft, blurry shadows is more realistic.
Those are some amazing shots, reminds me of theiCEnhancer mod for GTA 4 that makes it so damn close to photorealism. What kind of rig would it take to run that?
GTA IV without mods is already a mess to run. Those are some amazing shots, reminds me of theiCEnhancer mod for GTA 4 that makes it so damn close to photorealism. What kind of rig would it take to run that?

GTA IV runs better with the graphics mod the two times ive tried it, wierd yes..
Most of these mods don't require a drastic increase performance requirement. It just replaces the crappy textures...Those are some amazing shots, reminds me of theiCEnhancer mod for GTA 4 that makes it so damn close to photorealism. What kind of rig would it take to run that?

Maybe they improved more than just graphics, I know it's CPU intensive but people with decent quad cores still have problems and I know my 5850 is a good graphics card. I am reluctant to try it.[QUOTE="Djmaster214"]GTA IV without mods is already a mess to run. Not really, all you need is a good Quad Core CPU.Those are some amazing shots, reminds me of theiCEnhancer mod for GTA 4 that makes it so damn close to photorealism. Extremely nice looking, but I agree that some are more preference based. The one with the sunset sets the mood better for the screenshot rather than the modded one, though it looks a hell of a lot sharper.
Looks way better than the original. I didn't really like the weird shading added to the coloring of the original graphics.
Most look great, but there are some that actually look worse, imo. Some of the shots use that effect that resembles the "miniature" feature of some compact cameras---those look bad.
you can...I'd play it if I can use the original shadows. I swear it's like some of these modders never go outside to take a look at real shadows.

Are those original shots with dx11 and the hi res updates? I don't remember it looking that relatively bad.
it would cost developers much more to develop these then part time modders. Its sad that developers not doing it in the first place.

Not really a technical change, just an aesthetic one.
I actually think it looks worse this way.
EDIT: Well not a technical change compared to the DX 11 version anyways :P
Nope, it certainly is nothing like the 360 version.Obviously got nothing on the 360 version though.

Nope, it certainly is nothing like the 360 version. Craisiz 2 on 360 is the grfx king on all systems.I think its more to do with crytek being lazy then anything. Crytek could of done this but they know releasing mod tools will do the job for em.Funny how modders are the ones who actually use the full potential of the PC power instead of the developers themselves today. We saw it in GTA 4, and now this. These guys should make their own game using their engine.

And it looks much smoother with the motion blur and FXAA.
I'm not sure if i like the new lighting in blackfire's mod, have to try it myself. MalDo's HD textures look sweet, hope they're properly tesselated.
I find it more funny that GTAIV is said to run better modded.Funny how modders are the ones who actually use the full potential of the PC power instead of the developers themselves today. We saw it in GTA 4, and now this. These guys should make their own game using their engine.

Just tried out the blackfire mod but i don't really like it, at least in the first level the lighting and colours seem to be off. Maybe a bit oversaturated.
It's not an improvement over Vanilla Dx11 crysis 2 imo.
Ben-Buja
Those looks much better than vanilla....
