[QUOTE="TheSterls"]

[QUOTE="04dcarraher"] Lets see running 3x the resolution and then running 3x the stress and yet its running the game half the framerate of teh console versions. 04dcarraher

3x the res wouldnt be 3x the stress and hakaii just showed a 8600gt running the game at an average of 38fps on lower graphical settings then the console version so show me proof you are even getting 15fps with equal settings. I want a video.

why should I post a video or proove to you which you will ingore it. and running higher resolutions and running AA does put more stress on hardware... the difference between 1280x720 vs 1680x1050 842,400 pixels and more AA means more stress.

I wont ignore it if you can show it running everything on very high at 30fps 720p and 2xMSAA. If it meets that or beats that you win . The fact is none of you can. The other hermit just showed me running it at lower res lowr graphical settings and 8fps more and said that was better then consoles? Regardless Idont have time for this.

[QUOTE="Iantheone"][QUOTE="TheSterls"]

Thank you for proving my point. The console version ran it at 1280x720p a higher res and it also runs it at 60fps. My point is those low end cards do not beat the console versions. Thats all I was saying , not that the console version looked better then a high end pc. As I said before it took about a 8800gt and up to improve upon the consoles.

That was the whole point of my argument.

04dcarraher

Not really? At the time the 8600 was slow as balls compared to some of the other cards out there and I had a low end computer. This computer was built in 2004 with a single upgrade later down the line. If I had spent as much as a 360 would have cost me then I would have been getting much better FPS.

Let me guess you had a single core cpu? See sterls? RE5 requires a dual core cpu to run normal, and he wasnt using one which the game needed and yet he was able to get 20-25 fps....

Yep, an Athlon 64 3200+. I upgraded in 2009 for L4D2. =D

^ I know this argument is over, but have you even played the PC version? Screens don't do it justice, like a lot of games.

Well here is some proof that a 8600GT running direct x 10 at 1680x1050 with 8x AA running RE5 at 14.3 fps. Now if you lowered the AA and or resolution a 8600gt wouldbe a different story of running it smoothly at better settings then the consoles.

I used to own a 8600gt, i know it's capabilities well. It wont outperform a 360 or ps3.

Yeah my brother had one also. I remember trying Bioshock on it and it was inferior to consoles settings and performance. The only good about the 8XXX series where the 88XX ones. The 86XX were crap.

None of us are saying it's more powerful than a console.

Although it could have twice the vRAM count which helps quite a bit.

What we are saying is that a 7800gt can match consoles and since a 7800gt is so old we use the 8600gt as an example to show that if it can reach console settings or do it with slightly lower resolution then a 7800gt/gtx or higher 7 series card can do it better.

the 8600gt has only 32 shader processors, while the 8800GS had 64 or 96 I cant remember, and 8800GT has 112 SP's with much bettter memory speeds and gpu.

I was referring to the fact that 6600gt and 7600gt had been good cards. 8600gt and gts were almost rip-offs. If I remember correctly that time ATI got late to release their mid range offering so NVIDIA apparently just released crap since there was no competition.

DMC4 doesnt look better on pc other then higher res and AA.

TheSterls

LMAO. So, your saying higher res like running it at FULL HD 1080P with 16X FSAA and 16X Anistrophic filtering doesn't make the game look a lot better? Talk about argument fail.

Talk about reading comprehension fail . There is a diffrence between higher settings and image quality settings. Its also important to note a 7 series of cards isnt going to run any of those image quality settings you just mentioned on DMC4. Stay on topic or dont contribute.

Your argument that DMC4 doesn't look better on PC has fail written over it. FULL HD 1080P with 16X FSAa ANd 16X anistrophic filtering will always look bettern than the trash 720P with low AA that consoles run it on.

The Xbox romped all over a Gforce 2 Ultra. Also to the kid earlier the Xbox didnt have a gimped Gforce 3 , it acutally had a suped up Gforce 3.

TheSterls

A GeForce 4 Ti 4600 from around that period will trash the Xbox GPU anyday. Not to mention Xbox was running at 640x480 (if not lower) which is luaghable. While PC guys were running their games at 1024x768 to 1280x1024 if not higher.

Yea i know I had one , but its performance advantage was by no means masssive and no it didnt run lower then 640x480 im not sure where this is coming from thats a lie.

Depending on what GeForce it was the difference was massive. Doesn't change the fact that Xbox was running on crap 640x480 while PC guys were running in 1024x768 or 1280x1024 or even 1600x1200 which light years better than the crap Xbox was capable of.

He should look at this video.

It compares the PC version of devil may cry 4 to the xbox 360 version.

Although youtube videos have crappy compression the difference is still huge.

Those DMC4 screens look kinda bad.........this time around I think it's the game that doesn't do a gaming rig justice.

Edit: All this (10 pages) from a thread stating minimum spec requirements?

It's look alright for a Jan 2008 game and much better than the console version.

And it runs very good. Even maxed out at 16xQMSAA it will run around 80-90 fps.

Except the 7 series wont run that game at even close to that resolution with those settings which yet again proves neither one of you have any kind of argument whatsoever. Everything you just said was pointless.

TheSterls

Prove it. I showed a weaker 8600gt that ran the game maxed out at slightly lower resolution and the 7800gt and higher 7 series cards are stronger.

So prove it to me or you are wrong.

I am waiting for the proof.

He argued the 7 series would run them better then consoles at higher settings and it wont , not even close. The settings you posted right there would be far beyond the 7 series and I never stated the console version looked better then a top of the line pc running it. It amazes me how kids these days dont read whats being posted so they can actually post something relevant to the discussion.

Whos the one with the comprehension problems? Top-of-the-line PC? No, but more than enough to max it.

I have DMC4 for PC and I bought it day 1 for the 360. Consoles are far behind in image quality.

Sure, yet he speaks the truth considering he

A. Showed me a video of DMC4 running at lowr res

B. Didnt even show the FPS.

C. Wasnt even a 7 sereis card

D. Cant even post his gamertag to prove he owns the PS3 version.

Seriously your so baist its absolutley ridiculous at this point, im just calling BS when I see it and you are both full of BS.

A 7800GS could run it at max settings under DX9 since it lacks DX10, yet we don't know what resolution or what kind of frames to expect since no one has posted any. The card it runs on doesn't determine image quality, only performance.

A 7800gs wont hit the same settings as a console and 60fps . Thats my point.

Regardless apparently im hurting some of yalls feelings so ill let you guys have a good night. As people are going out of there way to report me.

TheSterls

The Devil May Cry 4 benchmark stresses the game out more than the console version.

It spans across the map in bird's eye view and spawns tons of enemies not used in the console version.

That is not going to be accurate in how the game actually runs normally.

You saw the video of it playing the game smoothly though and that is enough.

.

But here is a benchmark of the 8600gt on Resident Evil 5 at high settings and 1280x800 resolution.

A 7800GS could run it at max settings under DX9 since it lacks DX10, yet we don't know what resolution or what kind of frames to expect since no one has posted any. The card it runs on doesn't determine image quality, only performance.

A 7800gs wont hit the same setting sas a console and 60fps . Thats my point.

while the 7800gs i doubt will match the console, why exactly does it need to run it at 60fps?

Wow you cant post your gamertag? Prove to me you own the game why is that so hard?

TheSterls

Because it is my friend's PS3 and I don't give out his gamertag.

And I want proof that the PS3 version looks better than my screenshots.

Show me that is runs at 1680x1050 res with 16xQMSAA.

Thats what I don't get. Even the consoles can't keep a constant 60 FPS.

Also wrong the PS3 version ran slightly better then the 360 version with no screen tearing.

Here is Street Fighter 4 maxed on an 8600gt and before you make excuses on the 1024x768 resolution take a look at the frame rate which averages around 75-80.
