Crysis 2 PC demo is out

The multiplayer demo for Crysis 2 on the PC is out.

If anyone wants Halo PC, look no further, Crysis 2 is basically Halo.

Some cool stuff so far, but definitely a CoD + console + Crysis feel which I'm not too keen on. The FoV is tiny, must be 50 or something.

Meh, its all about the SP anyway, Crysis MP was never great.

I'm interested in downloading the demo mainly to see how it looks. Can you turn the graphics settings up, or are they locked like in that beta leak?

There are 4 options that aren't explained "Gamer" "Hardcore" "Advanced" "dont remember"

No ability to granularly adjust.

Kinda disappointed tbh, I don't know why I let consolifcation bother me, but it does. I HATE onscreen info, as odd as that sounds lol. Console games have little markers all over the place telling you where to go/enemies etc. (Crysis 2 does as well booo) The UI is just too "big", and the gun fills half the screen (that is ini fixable I'm sure).

Too early to say, but the MP is definitely console carbon copy of Halo + CoD. Even the cursor is weird and consoley.

Well considering they're fairly different FPS's then yeah, which part is like CoD and which is like Halo.

Well considering they're fairly different FPS's then yeah, which part is like CoD and which is like Halo.

I would say the CoD interface/leveling/unlocks with Halo style run-n-gun semi-futuristic sci-fi combat mixed with more CoD matchmaking and onscreen UI info bomb.

Indeed. The sky isn't falling; but this demo is a SHODDY representation of PC hardware and Crytek's capability. It appears lazy (there is even a "push Start" in the beginning) when all these little things aren't tested/tweaked by a real PC gamer.

Do they have nobody on staff like me (and the legion of other PC gamers) who HATE with a passion these little "consoley" things?

Honestly, 2 minutes in and I could tell what happened. I don't get it. I'm a moron, and I wouldn't have released this.

The game treats you like jackson as well, how much HUD info do we need? The mouse doesn't even feel connected to the gun sometimes, and bullets hit walls with a slightly delayed animation; this is amatuerish.

Dont wanna try it to be honest. Crysis is ALL about campaign for me. The online I will play once in a blue moon but man its the campaigns that you can play over and over that I love.

Won't install for me. Not that I care. I already liked the 360 demo, and I can see from the screens that the PC version looks 3X better, as expected. What I'm not liking is that they locked us out of the graphics settings. Is that not the whole point of a demo? :? The full game had best not be like this... I'm perfectly capable of tweaking configs, but that shouldn't be necessary, especially from a PC dev like Crytek.

Edit: Oh and I have to say the FOV is horrid. That's the first thing I'm changing when I get this.

from the screens posted anyone who says that the game "looks awfull" is just trolling...i mean seriousree, the game looks gorgeous and considering that multiplayer usually doesnt look as good as single player,,,well the single player should be the sweetest eye candy currently available with many police reports coming out post launch of system rape

My GT 220 cant run it well enough. 20 frames=headache. Was there a crap load of motion blur, or was that just my lack of frames? I will try this again on xbox, but i might be picking this up. Halo+CoD=win for me.tehsystemwarior

There is enough motion blur to make KZ2 blush, but I'm sure the lag from the foreign servers and your 20fps doesn't help much.

They're not high res though, at that size I can't really tell the difference between that and the 360 demo.

Well considering textures and objects aren't half-formed left and right, and the fact that you can actually make out the textures two feet in front of you... I'd say it's definitely NOT the 360 version. :P
