Crysis 2 PC demo is out

*shrug* I haven't played it yet. But it doesn't matter what I think...it matters what Crytek thinks. I very much doubt they changed the multiplayer in ways that they thought would make it worse than Crysis Wars.

CW had it's issues, but it was a nice base to build upon. Instead we get a complete overhaul that has "consolized" written all over it. You know, when Killzone games, that are purely console, feel much more hardcore than a sequel to the biggest PC exclusive, something is not right.

I just downloaded the demo, but for some reason it wants to install on my system disk without asking (no space in there), is there a way to change the install dir?

Anything they do to balance PS and CW would be called consolizing too. Too much bush? Removed. Too many snipers? Add perks to spot snipers. Vehicles overpowered? Weaken them. Not enough action? Make the maps smaller or up the player count.

It starts extracting and when it's about half way there I get a pop-up that my system disk(C) is out of space even though it's downloaded in D.

So instead of a COD clone you want a BF clone? Yeah....ocstew

That would make a lot more sense in a Crysis game.

Oh, and screenshots from the MP demo. No DX11 in the demo, but this is hardcore, which I think is max from it.

Gotcha, thought you were talking about the BC series. Yeah the jets were overpowered, you're right about that. I saw one guy go over 100 kills and no deaths while in a jet. It was really stupid, it's a good thing he was on my team. :P

Personally I prefer COD, I like pure shooter over hybrids any day. BF2 I only really played strike at karkand.i5750at4Ghz

Quake Live is todays best example.

Tried the demo and didn't really like it, though I did get my ass handed to me so maybe that's why. The suit works really smooth and the graphics are nice, but somehow I didn't get a good feel for the shooting.

I'd like a higher framerate for online, I could scrape 30fps on lowest settings, which still had the game look nice and me suspecting whether changing the settings made any difference at all.

Actually now I started doubting myself, those are on gamer settings, which I thought were the lowest? Not sure though.

Any "victories" made with Crysis 2 is negated by the fact that it has been consolized to such a extent anyway. The aim of fanatical Cows is to prove Sony's 2005 super computer hype by "beating modern computers" with their 2005 hardware. Never mind that spits in the face of common sense, but by consoles being involved, Crysis 2 isn't representative of PC capability anyway.

Hell, the impression I'm getting so far; is Crysis 2s three year old predecessor is pumping better visuals. Warhead was smudgy looking, but these screens take the cake.
