off course it is, even crysis @medium can beat everything what consoles have to offer.

You know, this guy (and maybe even teh company) is talking alot of **** which usually means there nervous about something, or they got confidence in their game. Usually, when people do something like this, it means there unsure of their product or whatever.

Well if they are nervous about something aka bad graphics on consoles i highly doubt they would hype it so much,its digging your own grave in which they would go alive in that case :D

Uhh no. He's contributing to the actual design of the game. Him and Cevet talk, and when he's portraying the story, he sorts of "directs" the action on screen, to fit in with his writing. He's also a critically acclaimed Sci Fi novelist, who's made deals with Hollywood to adapt his novels to movies. :roll: The last 3 / 4 posts I've seen you post have been 1 liner bashes. I really love Cryteks games, and I really dig this dude (Richard Morgan), but he does seem abit crazy. :lol: I'm just hoping they deliver, otherwise they're in for quite possibly the biggest ownage ever seen in video game history. I HAVE FAITH! :D

Exactly. Fanboys are twisted his words, to make him seem like an ass. Watch an interview with him and he's actually pretty cool. He doesn't "bash" other games, he just gives his opinions on how they can be improved, story wise. And to be honest, the story in most video games, bar a few, is sub par at best. :P

Sounds like they are really gunning for best graphics on consoles. I wonder how GG will take this competition? This is gonna be good :).

Also, I HOPE he isn't referring to the Alpha Build that was shown at GDC. The screens from that didn't even look as good as Gears 2 IMO.

Jeez, Crytek has been talking a lot of smack lately. I hope that they can back all of this up when Crysis 2 comes out.

Yeah, but people don't seem to realise this. :roll: Crysis 2 coming to consoles is probably some of the biggest news ever, due to Crysis 1 being the technical powerhouse it was. Ofcourse the media are going to ask him how the engine fairs compared to other technically impressive engines. Doesn't help when people post the same info in a different thread every 10 minutes. And he's a novelist, and has already claimed that video games can be as impressive as movies when it comes to narratives, but most companies, while having plausible stories, don't seem to be able to portray it as well as movies. It's just his opinion, cut him some slack.

those pictures they released looked pretty terrible (like something out of a PS2 game).

To the people acting like this was him "bashing" Killzone 2.... That isn't at all what he was doing.

He was complimenting KZ2 graphically, saying that it is the best looking console FPS currently. However, based on what he has seen, he thinks Crysis 2 will look better. Now... Explain how that is bashing KZ2. Explain how, if you don't spin it in a completely biased manner, you can interpret that as "bashing?"

And don't say "he could have mentioned any game, but he picked KZ2 so that he could call it out." No. He picked KZ2 because it happens to be the best looking FPS currently. Wouldn't mean **** if he came out and said, "Hey guys, our game ****s all over Hour of Victory in terms of graphics." You compare your game to the game that makes the most sense. KZ2 happens to make the most sense in this context.

Seriously the only reason it is "bad PR" is because the sensationalist gaming media and insane fanboys on forums have gone and takenevery single statement he has made out of context and then put a spin on it to turn it into a story when the reality is that there is no story behind it.

Take some time to actually read the sources of the statements. Take some time to consider context and overall meaning in the entirety of the interview. I mean, honestly, anything can be taken out of context and spun into someBS story that gets people riled up, because most people(like you) lack the sense of mind and patience to actually go back and look at the source of the stories and consider what is REALLY going on instead of just taking the word of some no-name journalist that is trying to generate hits.

If it was anybody other than someone from the Crysis 2 team, I'd be skeptical. But it IS someone from the Crysis 2 team. Even if he's acting like a jerk, it isn't too far fetched. Crysis looks better than Killzone 2.
