[QUOTE="lowe0"] With the number of great games out there, why bother? There's always something else to play instead.lowe0
Sure, gaming market is competitive, and there are many great games out there.
But come on,don't tell me you never found yourself in a situation where a beloved game franchise took a very radical and negative change of direction that dissapointed you a lot.
Quite the opposite. Consider MechWarrior Online... even though it's not exactly what I wanted them to make, I bought a Founder's package and will be playing once they get SLI support sorted out, because I want to support the genre. Maybe the game I really want will get made eventually; maybe it won't. In the meantime, I'll enjoy what's available. I'm not about to wish for them to go out of business just because I didn't get my way.An interesting attitude...
But you misunderstood,I don't want anyone to go out of bussiness just because I didn't like the game, when someone screws up badly, people lose jobs, which is not pleasant..
Also those layoffs almost always hit developers, not company executives and other higher-ups.
I just wanted to say that if you feel strongly about some game, nothing wrong with giving negative feedback and expressing dissapointment(as long as it's in level headed manner, and not some irrational whining).Consumer feedback is an important part of the gaming industry, and the reason why I really like smaller developers is because they usually maintain a close relationship with their fans, and listen to good advices...
