Crysis 3: Lowest Settings Looks Better Than Most Console Games

Not most. All of them. Also, current gen, obviously.

Settings: Everything on low, except for the resolution, which is 1080P.

Your mind is blown. Crytek has done it again. These are taken directly in-game. No photomode nonsense. As you can see, it's marvelous. Also, because everything is on low, you get a massive frameboost. Let's say 60FPS. Something high fidelity console games can't reach.

sadly its worst in series by far. only crysis game i never completed. even worse than crysis 2. it was very forgettable game that barely anyone remember about it.

It's great how even after 3 years it manages to hold it's own very well against even the best looking current gen titles.

Yeah, it was Crytek's visual masterpiece. Too bad it is not a great game like the first one, which I consider as one of the greatest shooters ever created. Among my top 3 FPS franchises.

Funny how console gamers always said Crysis was a tech demo. Yet it's gameplay and openess still remains very unique in the FPS genre.

While literally all Crytek is doing now is make tech demos: Ryse, Robinson, etc...

Crysis just like FEAR is terrible franchsies with only first game is good. sequels are really really bad.

Some of them were butthurt, others sucked at it. Crysis is very unique FPS. There is nothing like it out there. It still has a shock value, even after all these years.

Still is better than all xbox and ps4 games. textures matters meanwhile uncharted 4 textures are blurry and bad

I was talking about first Crysis only. I used the word "franchise" because otherwise Half Life 2, Episode 1 and Episode 2 are among top 3 FPS games on my list. But if you only count one game per franchise then first Crysis is among top 3 best games from different franchises IMO.

Crysis 3 still does a lot of things better than Uncharted 4. The two things Uncharted 4 really does better are character models and animations. The lighting model used on the PC version of Crysis 3 at max settings(including real-time GI) is very much next-gen. The textures, water and foliage can go toe to toe with any current game.

Pretty much everyone who isn't bias would agree God Of War 4 and Horizon Zero Dawn are currently untouched.

Even if a game e.g. Witcher 3 has technical superiority via textures - the actual visual presentation via animations and cinematography obliterate it.

These are quite clearly better looking than Witcher 3 - Star Citizen - whatever.... pc gamers with to pull out of the bag.

BF1 PC makes those two seem last gen. Apart from that, Witcher 3, Battlefront, and SC on ultra top out both of those titles, which will likely be downgraded. UC4 already looks better than both, and even that isn't considered to beat PC by Digital Foundry. Not sure why you're trolling.
