incredible. almost perfect gameplay. very immersive, great effects, physics and explosions. almost no limitations and restrictions to your creativity. actually has prone and lean keys unlike lots of shooters today. its amazing.
yes things like physics and effects effect gameplay to me. it just makes things more intense and jaw dropping
Only taking gameplay and design into account, about 9.0. I first played Crysis on medium/low settings and I still had a blast with it. People assume just because it has great graphics the gameplay must be below standard, but I can safely those people are incorrect.
Easily 9.5.
That game is amazing fun. I don't know any shooters this generation which allow me to drive a jeep off a cliff and ram it into a truck. I don't know any shooters this generation which allow me to reenact the scene, except with punching it on strength mode instead of driving it off. I don't know any shooters this generation which allow me to stealth my way through entire levels without shooting.
I played Crysis Warhead not Crysis. To me the gameplay was really great and everything was epic, from the music to the soundtrack. The gameplay was way better than other games like COD4 to me. Only people I saw complaining about the gameplay were people who didn't actually play the game.hamidiousI've played both Crysis 1 and Warhead and though both were extremely meh in comparison to the hype. Feel free to view muh xfire...
I really liked the open ended way in which you could take missions, other than the train mission, most had a fairly sandbox feel. It wasn't a matter of walking through a tunnel or along a set path, and the environment was actually an everchanging tool for hiding/cover.
I've only played Warhead, but I absolutely love it. 9/10
Anyway Crysis is a great game. The pacing and action is great. The music is intense and has a catchy beat. My favorite parts of this game is just running through the jungle with their being little to no music. Its very immersive while you explore and the fire fights with in.
Oh ya and the game looks pretty:)
different doesnt mean bad..Magik85Well yes if you like bland shooting and repetitive gameplay then yes.
[QUOTE="Magik85"]different doesnt mean bad..JangoWuzHereWell yes if you like bland shooting and repetitive gameplay then yes. I enjoyed Bioshcok more because even though it's not a open as Crysis the gameplay options overall aren't just the same as your generic modern shooter.
[QUOTE="Magik85"]Good game with awesome graphics...still i find Halo3, Killzone2, Riddick, Cod4, Bioshock more enjoyable..actually even Far Cry 2 xDJangoWuzHere

Bioshock is rated higher on the 360, PC, and PS3 going than Crysis going by Gamerankings...so yes, it's very much possible for not only him, but many others to find Bioshock more enjoyable than Crysis. :? Crysis
Gameplay = 8/10 (nothing special here, but nothing wrong with it either)
Graphics = 10/10 (if you've got the right rig)
Story = 5/10 (meh.... story seemed like a non-issue for the devs)
Fun Factor = 2/10 (not a typo, the game is boring as he11!)

It was okay. It wasn't as spectacular for me as it was for some others. I think that Vegas 2 was much better... Crysis has tons of mods though, so the replay value is nearly endless. I've got like 50 new mini campaigns and single player levels...-GeordiLaForge-
Oh god do I disagree with alot of opinions in this thread. Vegas 2 had a terribly bland design, repetitive gameplay, Bad team AI, and a boring single player with a bad predictable story.

We'll just have to agree to disagree there. The multiplayer is much better IMO. And the story was awesome as well. To me, the gameplay is like a mix between Splinter Cell 1 and Rainbow Six 3. What did you do, play it like a CoD game? Used one stock gun the whole game? The AI was far from bad, you also have to remember the levels are very open in their design, so the AI had to react to much more situations than they would if it was a linear FPS, such as KZ2.I think that this is a hype problem. How is Crysis in anyway repetitive? Their are just lots of ways to experiment with the gameplay and lots of ways to tackle objectives. Their are lots of neat environments and the design is fantastic.
Now I never really found any problem with the AI. It does go a bit wonkey on you at times but besides that its some of the best AI this gen. Why? Because it handles itself well in a large environment. The Aliens you face are very fast and try lots of attempts to surround and pumble you.
Now I don't see what was bad about Crysis story. I always sort of liked it in a cheesy kinda way. Its not good but its not bad because its entertaining.

Put all that together and I'd say that's a pretty repetitive shooter. No, I did not use just one stock gun, and the A.I was idiotic.

No its that Gameplay and Funfactor are pretty much the same...NO.... gameplay refers to how the game handles/controls.... it handles fine, and there is nothing wrong with the controls..... but that doesnt mean the game is fun.
While it's true that it has somewhat fair variety, it all comes down to just plain boring tactics you would find in most modern shooters. It just pits all that into an open-world environment, which is only lasts for about 1/3 of the game.Crysis didn't have repetitive gameplay, bad A.I., and a bad predictable story?
