Crysis is the best fps ever!!!!

Crysis is pretty, but the rest of the game is shallow.

Guess you haven't played many first person shooters then.

Crysis is among my favorite FPS campaigns of ALL-TIME, and I have played alot of shooters.

Great graphics. However, the combat, object interaction, and open-world (before the latter part of the game) sandbox elements of the gameplay are even better. There's no other single FPS pre-Crysis that's like it, and can combine those elements like Crysis does to allow for creativity via exploration and experimentation. If there were, I'd already be playing it!!!!!!!

I won't say it's better than HL1/HL2, NOLF1/NOLF2, Deus Ex, etc. :D :D :D which are some of my other all-time favorites, but it does easily earn it's place among those.

On topic: I would take Battlefield 2 or counterstrike over crysis any day, the multiplayer on crysis isn't that great, and the graphics are all there is to it.

Yes, I agree 100%. Crysis is a technical masterpiece, but I found it really boring, major "Been there, done that" feeling during the entire game.

Same here, I had fun messing around, but couldn't get into the actual gameplay.

It has a pretty decent campaign, but the online is pretty horrid if you ask me.justforlotr2004

The online isn't THAT bad. It is just too confusing to people starting out. I find that the people that were in the beta are just really good at it and people just trying to get into it have trouble cause the veterans are just too good already.

I disagree. Crysis is pretty and is not shallow. Oh and Megan Fox is hawt as hell. I actually dated a bank teller that looked almost identical to her. She was also a part time dance instructor at LA Fitness. Needless to say she was a freaking porn star in the bedroom.

The feel of a threatening environment weakened later on, mostly because you gradually became vastly more powerful than your beginner self, while the enemies and anomalies all around the place didn't build up as much. Enemies went down faster, you were tougher, .etc.

I'm not sure if it'll happen in the mod - I'm only slightly above starting-level firepower. And the "blowouts" I mentioned in my blog occur randomly and will harm you badly no matter how good you are or where you are, though.

Though yea the Blowouts really seem to add that sense of vunerability - I wonder how the a.i reacts to it.

At the point in the thread where you posted, it's hard to tell if you talking about Crysis or S.T.A.L.K.E.R. :P Neither of which were overrated IMO, both were about as good as it gets from last year.

Something like BioShock though, now we can most definitely talk overrated (yet still a decent game).
