PCs cost more than consoles. PCs can be upgraded every other year or so. Consoles last 5 years or so. So, if Xbox 360 is still around in 2010, the graphics tech is from 2005. Graphics always improve though. Also, I'd rather spend money on a console every 5 years and play games the lazy way (in my recliner) than sit upright with cramped hands playing PC games, and then upgrading my PC every 2 years just so my latest, greatest PC title willrun smoothly. Also, even though it is really easy nowadays, I hate installing PC games. Console games work instantly when you pop them in.

This is the way I see it....

PC gaming has mods, better graphics, and better controls forSOME games.

Console gaming has unlockable achievements, Live Marketplace (which is convenient and intuitive), being able to relax on a couch or recliner while gaming.

Once again, a hermit is proving my point about bragging about the awesomeness of PC games. So, you honestly think that console fanboys ONLY CARE ABOUT CRYSIS? Wow, just wow. Yeah, I'm sooooo jealous. Alright, for starters, there are huge misconceptions regarding the playability of PC games on anything other than a computer monitor. At the moment, I run all of my games on a widescreen 1080p HDTV with full 7.1 surround in my rec room. Most first person shooters I play with a Xbox360 controller, and anything else I use a gyroscopic mouse and single handed keyboard for. I also keep a joystick around for those BF2 dogfights and some good ol' flightsim now and then. PC gaming is very comfortable if you do it right.

Secondly, there are games which I enjoy on the PC which will never be replicated on any console. Give Company of Heroes a play through on a decent setup and you'll understand. Of course, I still play my gears of war and Wii games, but diversity in gaming is something to be valued, and the PC is entirely capable of delivering it.

And finally, what's with your whole Crysis argument anyway.. It's a good game so you expect PC fanboys to refrain from bragging about it? Personally, I'm not all that excited for the game, but I expect a couple of good hours from gaming at least from it. At the same time, I'm looking forward to CoH:OF Hellgate and whatever else comes out in the next year or so. For now, I'm perfectly content with my BF:2142 and CoH.

The mods argument is a good one, but the graphics argument is also pretty strong. Don't get me wrong, I think titles on both the 360 and PS3 (and even some Wii titles) look extraordinary. But this is coming from an old bastard who remembers CGA being da bomb. It's all relative.

And from that same perspective, there's little doubt that the new HD Radeons and GeForce 8800 series DX10 graphics cards simply blow away the performance you can get out of a 360 (which is comparable to the x1800 series). There's really no arguing it there...the 360 is 2005's technology, and technology keeps marching forward. Just as the PS3 is, technically, a more powerful system so too are today's computers more powerful than either, and tomorrow's computers will be more powerful than those of today. And developers will keep making applications to take advantage of improving hardware. Saying otherwise is to live in the land of denial.

A lot of this console fanboys arguements fail miserably. I own a 360. So hah. I Can enjoy both worlds but most of the games im lookinf foreward to right now are PC. In the long run PC is less expensive as consoles. Like Vandalvideo has shown. Spore on DS is not going to even compare to the one on PC. So you consider doom 3 on a cellphone and doom 3 on PC the same thing???? I think not. The only reason we use crysis is because thats all you console fanboys care about. Theres no point in making a thread about the witcher orquake wars because no one really cares. Hey if we dont have many games then why do we always get the most AA AAA games every year???? Most of us hermits have gotten over the "Crysis looks better than god himself thing." Must of us are now talking about the gameplay since there have been more and more info about. PC certainely has numerous games upcoming that are appealing. Sure, the 360 also has a lot of them, but there are still many Exclusive PC games and a lot of games that are just better on PC. I sure wish 360 had Hellgate: London for one.

And youve been waiting how long for it. once another highly anticipated fps game comes around on the pc will you say that it cant compare to crysis, why dont you guys get a console which you know great games come out on all the time and you dont have to wait forever on it .my gosh this doesnt even have a release date. and alot of the things hermits say about crysis is very conceited.

The lowest I will go with resolution is 1024*768, and that's very rarely. I usually have it at 1280*1024, which is the highest my monitor supports, yet still a higher resolution than any 360 game does. Most PC gamers actually consider it a low resolution.

I remember making a poll about which game people thought had the best graphics, with MGS4, Halo3, and Crysis as choices. Halo3 and MGS4 each had more votes than Crysis........

They/We Get Tons of RTS games and FPS games

not to mention a handful of the 360 Library with better GFX...

but its debatable which platform i will buy the games for, depends if i actually upgrade my PC for Crysis, otherwise ill get them all on 360 and suffer medium settings for the RTS genre

Notto mention to the one who said Crysis won best visuas at lesat years E3 it was only against games that were playable at the show. So the only real competiton it had was Gears of War and Mass Effect which also won awards. MGS4 and FF13 couldnt win as they were not playable.

Also, how many threads are made about graphics about console games? A LOT. Half the threads in SW are about graphics. How many threads about that ONE Halo3 screen were there?
