The only reason why this game has hype is because of the graphics. The A.I. is totally stupid. The gameplay is slow and the guns suck. I give it a 8 at best. Its your average shooter just prettier then most. Big freaking deal! Hermits just need a game to hype.Nin360
Think about this.
We get more AAAE and AAE games, not to mention just AAA and AA, than any other gaming platform around.
Why in Gods name, would we need to hype a game, when in two weeks we will have another AAA or AA?
lol @ we need to hype games. Here's a question for you sheep, what game are you gonna hype after SSMB comes out? The next Zelda? Any good third party games worth hyping coming out for the Wii?
Didn't think so.
Actually I don't like Crysis at all either. PC gamers who are hyping this game (and console gamers who are pretending this is the "definitive PC game") frustrate me to no end. I understand at least why some PC gamers are excited (stunning graphics, decent variety of ways to play through the game) but I wasn't particularly impressed.subrosian

bet you didn't played the demo and if crysis really stinked you wouldn't have made this thread

Not people who are genuinely interested in the title expressing joy at it, that people who do not PC game have come out and hyped this (because of the graphics) and that people who loathe PC gaming have pidgeon-holed this as the "PC title" to judge the platform by.
I find that awkward, if I had to choose a game to judge any platform, it wouldn't be an FPS for any of them. Given the expectations riding on this game (on both sides) I have to say I find the discussion revolving around it in SW to be a bit, well, frustrating. Everything related to it is a double-edge sword as well - the graphics are progressive, so people say "it's poorly optimized because I cannot run the graphics settings built for next year's high-end GPUs". The gameplay is true to the realistic, physics-driven vein of FPS- so it gets dinged. In everything Crysis does, a platform is being judged on it, and most discussion on it doesn't lead anywhere positive.

That's a tough one, to be quite honest, I don't think any *one* game should ever represent a platform. We lookat the PS3 and we don't go "it's just about Killzone 2". You don't look at a 360 and say "it's only genre is FPS - duh, Halo 3", and you definitely don't get that image with the Wii. However, when PC gaming is concerned, the FPS genre, and its latest graphical champion gets the "platform leader" medal.
And yes, of course, the multi-million dollar ad campaigns hoping to sell software and hardware upgrades to the hyped crowds doesn't help the situation.
As far as PC titles that are interesting - American McGee's Grimm comes to mind! I'm also not at all opposed to looking at multipatform titles. So what if Spore, DMC IV, GTA IV, and Alan Wake are multiplatform? They're still exciting games.

Out_Kast3000
How can it be generic when there is only one other FPS like it which is made by the same people, and throughly upgraded?
CoD4/Halo3/UT3 are the generics of this gen.. CoD4 being the king of pointless graphic whore rehashes of gameplay that existed 8 years ago.
I judge a game by how fun it is and well after the BETA and the DEMO im not interested anymore... and wastng £30 just to find out if the whole games is better is quiet stupid so I guess Im going to stick to my "generic" COD4 MP.
If you haven't played COD4 and your a "real" FPS a complete nincampoop.
I must addmit the reason why I got hyped for it was the graphics but after playing the demo a couple of times that blind rush cleared before my eyes and I was left a game that reminded way too much of Farcry which isnt abad thing but dammit its not a good thing either.
The only thing I found mildly interesting were the abiities that the suit provided... but that doesn't neccearily mean I fund it fun; it was just interesting.
As for the sandbox editor there nothing I hate more than dumbing my self down and entertainmy self with over exadurating physics, gravity and object size's; in the end If I want to play an MOD creater I can easily load up garry's mod which is twice as advance and complecated.
But in the end I see that most people enjoyed the SBE more entertaining than the actual game... which I found very annoying mainly becuase I see those people as Simulation gamers which with the future of gameIn their hands we would be left with nothing but "make your own game" games.

1) CoD4 regards, I'm sorry but you are babysitted throughout most of the single player, the levels are small all that happens really is mass spawning of enemies and grenade spamming enemies , the graphics were not that great, the Voices/Sound effects were below par.
The Multiplayer is the same old **** again, only they dumbed it down some much you can get rank 30+ in a few days, the spawning system si terrible it doesnt gactor in airstrikes or open fire, even worse that that both teams are spawn really close for "instant action" but ends up just making a choke run n gun fest.
2) Why is the editor for simulator lovers? you seem to be basing the entire game off the first level, if I was to do the same of CoD4 I'd be like "LOL PS1 Ocean Graphics" "LOL all the soldiers do all the work i can just watch!" (on normal).

No. There's no 1 and 2... its my opinion on two games one which I enjoyed and the other which Im not going to bother getting simply because its had its chance to impress me and failed.
But If your in a desperate need to confront someone and justify reasons why "you" think a game is better than another I suggest you quote a pubesent child who bends over when it comes to argueing with someone that formaly reply's in full sentences.

i dont think its fair to say all the people who hyped this were just stunned by graphics. the only reason i would ever want to play it is because i trust crytec, im a big farcry fan. i dont understand how people call it generic, iv never played anything else like farcry.

lol..
..why post your opinion if you're just going to whine when someone disagrees with you? He commented on your post and all you can reply with is "LOL IT'S MY OPINION AND THAT'S THAT."
People like you are why serious discussion in System Wars is so scarce. You post your opinion and come up with stupid cop-out repsonses like that any time you have someone disagree with you.

That's a myth. Very few PC gamers actually have SLI/Crossfire setups..they aren't cost effective, nor necessary. Your average PC gamer doesn't upgrade every couple months either, you'll only see that with the most hardcore "hardware enthusiasts."
Also, a good chunk of the PC gaming population still plays classic games like CS 1.6, Starcraft, and Diablo 2/LoD..none of which are exactly modern in terms of visuals.

Actually I disagree SLI is cost effective.Buy a 8800 GT now, and then next year buy another 8800 GT when they are dirt cheap, thus boosting your performance.
And yes with 200 million PC gamers, the vast majority arent going to be 'graphics whores'.
This is all ironic when Lems and Cows both fight tooth and nail for the scraps of which console has the better visuals - not to mention when the 360 first game out - and GeOW "We has teh best grahpix = ownage".

Think about this.
We get more AAAE and AAE games, not to mention just AAA and AA, than any other gaming platform around.
Yet you are the most insecure of all the groups in here. I still think PC gamers arguing in System Wars is really pathetic. The name "System" implies a console. The PC kids cried enough to where the mods cannot exclude them for fear of discrimination and here we are. I hope Crysis is the most amazing game ever created only because it's all you guys talk about. I know the PC has had amazing AAA games in the past, I play my favorite game of all time still on the PC(World of Warcraft). I just feel it's sad that the PC gamers here are not genuine, I very rarley hear much in the way of computer knowledge from any of you. The ability to spout off hardware specs is about as basic as computer knowledge gets. I still think it's jealousy at the core of all this, I know PC gamers want in on all the really fun and innovative things happening on consoles right now. I know that you guys praise Crysis because frankly what else do you have that the console kids care about(hint:Nothing). Crysis has allowed you to remain relevant for a couple of more weeks, believe me if the game is that great XBOX 360 will get a port.

I totally forgot about the recent release of the 8800GT as I was typing that.
I agree though, at this point in time, SLI is pretty cost effective if you're looking at the 8800GT :)
At most other points in time though, the cost of a SLI configuration (at least double the cost of a single-card solution) relative to the performance gains (20%, 30% at best?..I suppose this depends on the benchmark) has made such a setup less than desirable..for me, at least. Usually, you're better off saving the money you would've spent on an extra video card + extra cash for an SLI board, and upgrading to an even better single-card solution somewhere down the line.

All I heard was: :cry:As for TC, personally I'm not too excited about Crysis since I wasn't that impressed by Farcry either, but saying it's nothing but graphics is just wrong. There is really only one similar game and that is Farcry, Crysis brings in a lot more new stuff than most sequels or spiritual successors. The suit, physics and AI were very impressive imo and those are no small things in a FPS, if they can also nail the story and MP it should be good by anyone's standards.

Dude, I've been following your topics as of late and you only make topics about hating on the PC or the PS3. No wonder you have that fat f@ck in your avatar and Nin360 as your name. Just stop all that crap! If you wanna be hatefull go somewhere else! Crysis is great....if you think that the AI is stupid than maybe you would try and play it on a harder difficulty. Also the stupidest AI that there is can be found in your beloved Wii!!
