Crysis stinks! Yes I said it

Yet you are the most insecure of all the groups in here. I still think PC gamers arguing in System Wars is really pathetic. The name "System" implies a console. The PC kids cried enough to where the mods cannot exclude them for fear of discrimination and here we are. I hope Crysis is the most amazing game ever created only because it's all you guys talk about. I know the PC has had amazing AAA games in the past, I play my favorite game of all time still on the PC(World of Warcraft). I just feel it's sad that the PC gamers here are not genuine, I very rarley hear much in the way of computer knowledge from any of you. The ability to spout off hardware specs is about as basic as computer knowledge gets. I still think it's jealousy at the core of all this, I know PC gamers want in on all the really fun and innovative things happening on consoles right now. I know that you guys praise Crysis because frankly what else do you have that the console kids care about(hint:Nothing). Crysis has allowed you to remain relevant for a couple of more weeks, believe me if the game is that great XBOX 360 will get a port.

You must not like FPS than and that is okay...now if you enjoy FPS and you say Crysis Stinks than well you uhm lets see here you are absolutely wrong. I guess what everyone says is their opinion but I think and most would agree I believe is that Crysis improves upon all FPS maybe it is not as good as telling a story as Half-Life 2 but in all other aspects it improves the genre I think. The guns are balanced, the gunplay is rock Solid, the AI is actually pretty smart...I would LIKE to see you pick a game that had AI that could interact with all the dynamics that the Crysis AI has to deal with. The physics make for even better gameplay. Maybe you like linear games and Crysis overwhelms you and you don't like that. The more you play the game the more you realize its a lot better than moat dear I say any FPS. Perhaps Crysis is an aquired taste and it will only get better over time. I think you should go back and play it some more or wait for the retail and give it a shot and play through the ENTIRE game and then come back and state your opinion.

I agree though, at this point in time, SLI is pretty cost effective if you're looking at the 8800GT :)

At most other points in time though, the cost of a SLI configuration (at least double the cost of a single-card solution) relative to the performance gains (20%, 30% at best?..I suppose this depends on the benchmark) has made such a setup less than desirable..for me, at least. Usually, you're better off saving the money you would've spent on an extra video card + extra cash for an SLI board, and upgrading to an even better single-card solution somewhere down the line.

I used to go with the whole save up cash for new single card, but ive been reconsidering, just because of how cheap these cards have become - and the performance offered by SLI. Hell buy a single GTX now, wait to next year and SLI another when its cheap, and you have even more killer performance.

That's a myth. Very few PC gamers actually have SLI/Crossfire setups..they aren't cost effective, nor necessary. Your average PC gamer doesn't upgrade every couple months either, you'll only see that with the most hardcore "hardware enthusiasts."

well if your 8800 is a EVGA you will be able to turn that in as "cash" for an upgrade, i agree with him that SLI's arent cost efficient not only because of that but also because id need to buy a power supply along wiht another GPU.

If said person says they don't care for Crysis even though they like FPS then they aren't missing out on anything. If said person likes FPS has a PC but dislikes FPS on PC then they aren't missing anything. I just like the physics lol. And the scenery. I think it's really fun. I'm more impressed by the engine than the actual game itself. But the gameplay is solid, the Nano suit is really fun and innovative, and overall it's a great game.

I think you're just jealous, or think because Mario isn't in it the game must be terrible.

Crysis is far from a generic FPS, it has an amsizing physics engine, that you can actually use tactically in battle.

i love sneaking up on th N.korean troops, cloacked, grab one, goto max. Str. and throw him into his friends killing everyone :D.

Besides WoW, the only "AAA" games coming out on PC are FPS and RTS games. Nothing else really. Game consoles are getting "AA" & "AAA" games in all categories. More variety, more fun.

I'm surprised that someone who is apparently as into UnrealEd as you are doesn't seem to be giving the Crysis sandbox editor a shot.

I don't like Crysis so the sandbox tool isn't something enjoyable for me. Scripting new single-player levels in Gears of War is interesting, I enjoy Gears of War play style, doing so in Crysis is unappealing, because I don't enjoy the game. That's not a denouncement of Crytek's engine, but rather a comment on the game built in it.

The sandbox tool is for Cryengine 2.0, not the game. Crysis just happened to be built with that sandbox editor and engine, but otherwise are basically mutually exclusive. Doesn't really make sense to say you don't like the tool the game was built with because you don't like the game. You'd use the tool to build a better game. I personally can't wait to see what people come up with. I'm much more excited about the mod potential than I am with the vanilla game, since CryEngine 2.0 is so customizable.

Think about this.

We get more AAAE and AAE games, not to mention just AAA and AA, than any other gaming platform around.

Why in Gods name, would we need to hype a game, when in two weeks we will have another AAA or AA?

Did you suddenly forget about The Witcher? Or Neverwinter Nights 2 MotB? Both amazing RPG's, especially The Witcher, and both just aren't available on consoles. If you choose not to own a gaming PC, that's you loss, and to say there aren't any other quality games beyond FPS and RTS is just silly.

Edit: Forgot to throw in Hellgate as well, which is still a game that's fun as hell imo...

Also opinion. What someone finds incredibly deep with thousands of ways to play open ended another could find it over complicated, over bearing, and to end all just be too much at once.

Sorry buddy, but Crysis is probably the most non-linear FPS ever. Love it or hate it, there are certain attributes that Crysis holds which other games lack.

I share the same opinion as a PC gamer. Crysis is most overrated game of this year. The shooting in Call of Duty 4 for PC is muchmore satisfying. UT2k4 is still a better game despite the outdated graphics. I was not impressed by the demo, and neither did I enjoy it at all.

And for those that think Crysis is the best PC game of all time... Wrong!Half-Life 2 isn't going to be dethroned anytime soon. The only day that will happen is the day, Gabe Newell from Valve will announce aHalf-Life 3.

Well I figured people would understand... but what I'm actually trying to say is. I don't give a damn about fancy colours and shiny graphics. If a game is not enjoyable gameplay wise, I'm simply not interested. As Subrosian pointed out. SW is brainwashed by this game that they think Crysis represents PC gaming as a whole. And I personally hate that.

I will still be too busy playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R to even care about Crysis. Not all PC gamers share the same taste for games.

I'll accept it if it was merely a opinion....but if you read his OP, he is bashing all hermits. Did anyone not accept Subrosian not finding Crysis interesting.....learn the difference b/w stupidity and opinion before posting
