It's just been released at the EA store that the minimum requirements are:

MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS Intel Pentium 4 @ 2.8 GHz or AMD equivalent 1GB RAM nVidia GeForce 6800GT/256 or ATI Radeon 9800 Pro/256 Microsoft Windows DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card HD free space 16GBEA Store

Don't jump around yet...there's been no official confirmation from EA or Crytek. But, a little while ago, the CEO of Crytek, Cevat Yerli, said that they would be released in the middle of September.

6800GT and 9800Pro hardly seem comparable ..and usually if there is such a difference it favors Nvidia.

Eh, 16GBs not too bad... Luckily I got 500Gbs and they really shouldn't put Pentium 4 2.8GHz as minimum requirements because noobs with AMD; - take for example X2 3800+ - run at lower clock speeds but a X2 3800+ rapes a P4.

Oh well, I'm set for this game.

And we care why?

And if its true then w00t :D

But at the minimum will probably have to play on lowest and get some framerate drops sometimes

Erm, that's pretty fake. Since when did 9800Pro became almost as powerful as 6800GT. Isn't 6800GT like 1.5x more powerful than 9800pro?

Eh, not really, maybe the 6800 Ultra. Considering the x700 is equivalent to the 6600GT and the 9800Pro is between x700 and x800 (which is equivalent to the Ultra).

There just isn't really anything else in between. And yes the 6800GT is faster than the 9800 Pro but not by a lot.

@Superfly

The 9800 does play FarCry at max settings with smooth frames. Crytek said that if could play FarCry on max, you could play Crysis on low.

How is that possible? I thought x800 was competing with 6800, 6600 with x700 or x600. Isn't 9800pro like a generation behind 6800gt? It doesn't have SM 3.0 and other stuff. I dunno about the clock speeds but if 9800pro is able to run Crysis at the same settings as 6800GT then that's pretty screwed up.

I would agree with Supafly, tho I don't necessarily think they are fake(there have been similar wierd requirements before), but 6800GT is far more powerfull than 9800Pro. Even 6600Gt beats 9800Pro.

I just researched it the 9800XT has somewhat of a chance to the 6800GS but yeah, the 9800Pro does get raped.

But it isn't a pro Blu-ray argument, that's the point, it's just that in every "is BR needed" thread there is always the "Crysis fits on one DVD so a DVD is enough" and now that is proven wrong. That's all. I'm not saying Crysis could be ported to a console it is just that we are seeing a lot more games that need more room.

What does ramming something have to do with not being able to come to 360? Halo 3 only takes up less than 6 gigs and is a much bigger game. What would you need to ram the 360 with to make it run? 360 can already do DX10 with it's video card, 3 core CPU, and runs Gears and Halo 3 like a hot knife into butter.

:P Sarcasm, right?

If not... "Ramming" has a lot to do with not being able to do with Crysis on consoles, consoles just have so little Ram that it's difficult to make large open environments without constant loading times. It's been the case in the past(more linear Farcry for e.g.), and it's still the case.

Ram

What does ramming something have to do with not being able to come to 360? Halo 3 only takes up less than 6 gigs and is a much bigger game. What would you need to ram the 360 with to make it run? 360 can already do DX10 with it's video card, 3 core CPU, and runs Gears and Halo 3 like a hot knife into butter.

You have got to be kidding me? Fake boy troll alert!

Fake boy my arse, it's been proven that 360 can do DX10, we debunked this last year.

 Are you for real?

Well, I guess this is the end of 360 fans hiding behind the "well Crysis fits on a DVD, Blu Ray isn't needed" crap...-voodoo_child-

it probs will ship on one dvd and uncompress on the Hard drive...hints why you need so much space.

just like UT 2004 did, took ages to install because it had to uncompress so much.

I honestly don't know anymore. :( With so much ignorance in SW it's getting hard to tell the difference between sarcasm and stupidity.

9800pro is equivalent to a 6600GT, I think they mixed the generations up.

Halo 3 also looks like a last-gen game.

You just stooped to his level of fanboyism...

The same hermits that say you don't need cutting edge/alot to be a hermit.
