Crysis to go Head to Head with Halo 3 in September?

GoGamer.com has recently listed the release date of theanticipated first person shooter 'Crysis' on their website. The date is September the 11th, and they have provided what seems to be official boxart and their pre-order deal.

It seems EA want to go head on with Halo 3, which is also being released in September, so we are in for one interesting month. Can't wait to see end of September sales if this is indeed true.

BIG BIG BIG mistake if they release it in September ... I mean WHERE THE HELL is the Public Multiplayer Beta they announced? Well it better start straight after E3 or theyre going to screw up another game's multiplayer from the start.

I dont believe its going to be in September ... I just dont.

halo will crush crysis in sales, and will most probly outsell any other game for 2-3 months.But since crysis is pc only, they arent directly with halo for the same audience, so it isnt that surpriisng

no....C&C3 has horrible balance....and very little variety....

no....C&C3 has horrible balance....and very little variety....

Crazy..C&C is known for being a well rounded and solid RTS. It has variety, especially with the latest installment playing through it 3 times offers a completely different experience gameplay-wise.

Halo will sell more...While everyone knows that there are a ton more PCs out there that doesnt translate into gamers. REcently in a Starcraft 2 preview I read that in the almost 10 years since Starcraft was released it sold 9.5million copies. Thats not alot for such a long time didnt halo or halo 2 not sure which one sell like 7 million duing the xboxs lifespan? Also Starcraft is one of those masterpiece games like Fallout, Half life that all know and have played they are classics while for now all Crysis is, is a grpahics powerhouse.rzepak

I don't understand what you mean, BLizzard games sell exceptionally well on PC and contiue having strong sales after their release period. Unlike console games that have much lower shelf life. WoW is still either on the number 2# or #3 on the PC charts. Anyways stating that StarCraft sold 9 million copies ten years ago is diffrent that stating that it sold 9 million evenly spread out over 10 years, when it was released afterallit was the number one game on the charts.

Anyways Blizzard had most likely the most profitable game of the last generation and so far it seems to continue into this one.

Quake Wars is also due august 1'st....I really hope they fix the technical problems with the Beta though...cause at this form, it feels choppy.

the original Starcraft sold 10 million....and back when it was released...it didnt even have any form of copy protection.

Crysis will generate revenue because it is intended to showcase what Crytek's new engine is capable of. While it will really shine on high end machines I still expect it to also offer something for all ranges of PCs. While it is a massive title within itself there are bigger things surrounding it. Developers, publishers from the big guys to the independents, all the way to the modders will be looking forward to seeing what this engine can do.

This is Electronic Arts we're talking about. Crysis is only the beginning. Halo 3 will sell a billion copies, score AAA, and sell a few more Xbox 360s. Predictable. What will Cryengine2 do? What will Crysis be? Future console games using the engine? That sounds more exciting.

This is the age of the flashy action game. Give me the sales stats for the last ten RTS games and the last ten FPS games. I don't care if it's Starcraft or not, I fully understand the following Starcraft has. Right now, at this point in time, no game has a bigger following than Halo, except maybe GTA.
