[QUOTE="88mphSlayer"][QUOTE="Parasomniac"] Molyneux never insults gamers or anyone else's games. He just gets a tad bit excited about his own work.Hahadouken
what... do you guys really think the average console gamer is going to be happy with their $60 purchase if right out of the box, there's some issues?
PC gamers were willing to put up with bad AI in the demo and still get the game, and even then were willing to wait several years for the right-priced graphics cards to run the game properly
i don't know of any console gamers like that, there's just simply a different mentality between the two audiences, i don't think Yerli insulted anybody's intelligence, he even said it's made them a better developer
He didn't say "the average console gamer", and do you really know so many people who are segmented into being a "______ gamer"? There are millions of examples all over the internet of PC gamers crying about games not working and needing patches Day One. They are not all patiently and politely sitting there waiting, understanding the struggle and the process. They are customers who expect their money to go towards a working product, just like anyone else. I saw just as many mouthbreathing fools in WoW as in COD4. There's not a "different mentality" whatsoever, that whole idea is ridiculous. Two generalizations don't make a right. ;)no doubt, no market is 100% black & white, but it's still a lot more common for a PC game to get fried with complaints and still go on to become a success after it's been patched, i can't recall many console games doing something like that, generally it's a "hit the ground running" market, not because people are intelligent or dumb, but simply because of different expectations
ie: if GTA4 had hit the PS3/360 with the issues it had when it was released on PC, people would've burned rockstar games to the ground
