Current GOTY 2012?

So it's been a pretty decent year thus far (KoA and E3 ended up being huge disappointments but ohwell) and last month it became even better with the release of the triumphant Diablo III - one of the greatest RPG sequels of all time. So which game do you feel has GOTY locked right now? You already know my choice!

Atm it's a toss up between D3 and ME3. I still need to buy Max Payne 3 and there are 2-3 other games that can snag my personal goty for 2012.

Dota 2 right now, although I've had it since last year.

None that are worthy deserve that title. 2012 has been a disaster so far.

I haven't played a game that stands out yet.

Looking at the games coming out Paper Mario SS is my most anticipated and that one doesn't scream GOTY either, it's a depressing year.

Last year up until this point it was Portal 2.

Haven't played more than 5 new games this year, but Mass Effect 3 and Trials Evo have been the best so far.

Gonna say it, Trials Evolution now just waiting for the rampaging cows using Journey as an arguement or the usual b-b-b-b-b-ut a downloadable game cant be GOTY.

After all the hype, Diablo 3 ends up a huge disappointment:

-Paying $60 for a laggy DRM game (lag in SP = unacceptable); legit gamers are punished while sooner or later pirates will crack the game. Edit: in fact, they've fvcking did it, server emulator is up.

-The itemization system is the huge huge flaw because Bliz is a bunch of greedy bastards;

-Extremely toned down item bonus; no more level based stats bonus; stats bonus (including gems) are boring: + 20 dexterity pfffft give me a break.

-Extremely poor customer service (there's a article about a gamer using RMAH treated poorly);

-Hype up Inferno difficulty to be extremely hard but fun, then it ends up a frustrating mess; imbalanced classes;

-Hyping the possibility of different builds with different runes, yet 70% of those runes are useless at higher difficulties.

-The latest article about how Bliz treat DD gamers in order to "combat" piracy.

-Release the game then continue nerfing it patch after patch (the fact that they have 12 years to develop the game, this is unacceptable)

Max Payne 3

My personal GOTY as of six months into the year is Mass Effect 3, followed by Diablo 3 (And since Diablo 3 won't even be nominted for GOTY by GS because it isn't AAA, it really doesn't matter).

For me it's easily Mass Effect 3. The single player was near perfect and improved on Mass Effect 2 in almost every way. The only problem was Bioware somehow managed to screw over everything you did from ME1-3 in only 10 minuets. It can be ignored, though, for everything else. The co-op is also really fun. My N7 level is somewhere around 350 and I just started playing Gold. It's a real challenge but it requires a lot of teamwork and can be a lot of fun when you have skilled team members. Although, Gold really does show the imbalance. Infiltrator Class>>>>>>>all others no contest and Soldier class is terrible.

Soldier class is terrible.

For me it's League of Legends. Nothing has came out this year that I would rather play. chaoz-king

I didnt play Journey yet. So far Trials Evo or Mass Effect 3.

Risen 2: Dark Waters. The Darkness 2 is a runner up.

I'll probably get alot of hate for that, but for me it's easely Warriors Orochi 3, I can hardly put it down, it's the best Warriors game IMO
