Current GOTY 2012?

Mass Effect 3, not that it's competition has been particularly tough

Diablo 3 has been lying around dormant for weeks. For one reason only - DayZ

Easily my GOTY 2012 so far, DayZ is amazing

Xenoblade, and yes, I know it came out in Japan 2 years ago. It came out in the US this year so I count it as 2012.

Mass Effect 3. Best game I've played this year so far even with that ending. If I had a Wii right now though I bet it'd be Xenoblade or potentially The Last Story. I'm expecting ACIII to be the best game this year though, nothing else that exciting coming out.

I haven't played any of those as of yet. I'm gonna guess Starhawk monkey stomps them all though.

Haven't played a game I'd consider GOTY material.

Closest thing is Diablo 3, but it's too much of a mess atm.

MP3 with Mass Effect as a close second.

So far, Max Payne 3 by a longshot(The Darkness II and Trials Evolution are both awesome too). This first half of the year has been pretty underwhelming compared to what's coming later.

Most complicated controls... evur. Twisted Metal was one of my most anticipated games this year and after playing the demo I completely erased it from my memory.

Civilization V: Gods and Kings. I haven't been impressed at all by anything else that came out this year.

From what I've played...Yakuza dead souls or Warriors Orochi 3. Tales of the abyss 3D came out this year in NA so maybe that too despite it being a ps2 game originally. >.>

We're in the middle of 2012 now, and not a single game that I liked as of yet. And the second half of 2012 doesn't look that amazing aswell. 2013 on the other hand already looks like its gonna be the best gaming year ever.

If Diablo 3 ends up being the game of the year, than this year is just bad for video gaming :lol:

I realized i haven't gotten many games this year.

I guess Kid Icarus Uprising then.

DayZ by a huge margin. I know it is a mod for a game, but it now has 300,000 unique players after only a couple months in alpha. This game is astonisihing and provides a kind of experience I've never encountered anywhere else. Blows anything else this year out of the water. This is the future right here. This is where FPS games will be heading. I have never felt adrenalin/emotion like it before playing a game.

By comparison, even games I've loved this year and not even close to being on DayZ's level. GOTY 2012 unless something else utterly amazing comes out of nowhere.

glad that someone else enjoyed Risen 2. I don't get the hate some people have for it. I guess thats what largely negative reviews will do to a game, even one with as much character as Risen 2.

Darkness 2 was fraking awesome, shame it ended so quickly.

Dayz for me (even though its just a mod in alpha).

Otherwise Shogun 2: Fall of the Samurai/ME 3, Max Payne 3 as runner up.
