Dark Souls is GS's GOTY: poll

Sure, there is nothing brilliant about 9.5/10 games, only the 456/10 ones have anything good in them

Dark Souls is definitely on my list of must-haves for 2011, and Demons Souls is one of the highlights of the gen for me... But I'm pretty confident that Dark Souls will not win GS's GotY this year. My gut says it'll come down to Uncharted, Gears, Zelda, or Skyrim, and some wildcard... like Batman, Portal2 or something. Honestly... I believe Uncharted may take it.

So, i have doubts that the 9.0/10 Uncharted 3 will now get GOTY over the 9.5/10 Dark Souls, would make little sense

Based on GOTY in 2009 and the score Dark Souls got comparing to U3, i would give Dark Souls 99% chance to be this year GOTY myself and Uncharted 3 the least (talking about the big titles of course)

They should give to MW3 so SW would explode lol

i'm thinking it will either be gears 3, arkham city or skyrim.

It is a great game but not GOTY for me.

Also, we have Skyrim, BF3 and MW3 right around the corner, I'm sure one of those will take the cake.

Right now Batman: AA is my choice. That game is incredible. Still have to wait for SkyRim & Zelda:SS. Too bad Bioshock: Infinite isn't coming out this year. There's no doubt in my mind that it will be better then Dark Souls.

Dark Souls is to Demon's Souls what SMG2 was to SMG so...i wouldn't count it with Dark Souls getting GOTY since GS always choose something different every year, IMO, the strongest candidates are Skyrim, Zelda SS (although we still don't know the score from both), Batman or Uncharted 3.

How is Uncharted 2 a better choice ? I finished it in a one day rent and was a linear repeatitve game with zero depth

A totally shallow and casual experience

Now compare that to my two years of playing Demon Souls and never getting old or loosing interest

it should win MORGOTY. Most overrated game of the year. 9.5? really? lol. 8 at MOST. crap frame rate. boring combat. cheap trick in order to make repeat areas, and grinding...oh the grinding.

No it wont win GotY. GS does not work like that GotY does not work like that, I really think its down between Zelda and Skyrim for sure.

dark souls easily, it's a cheapen version of demon's souls, but at least is so close to demon's which is far and beyond any experience I ever had in the last 15 years.

So after all is said and done, Dark Souls will be Gamespot's goty2011. I think it deserves the title.

Too many glitches to be GOTY. The game is great, but it's broken. They need to patch it. themyth01
