They're both great, but how can you compare them? They're completely different takes on the zombie apocalypse.Planeforger
You can compare anything to anything else, it's not impossible at all. I swear even when games are in the same genre (ex. fps to fps) they say "you can't compare them because they're two different games." You can compare anything to anything else in the entire world, similarities, differences, pros, cons of each. Even if it's a bannana and a Megadeth album. Both are sold in stores, one you can eat, the other provides musical entertainment forever.
Now as far as answering the question, I say Left 4 Dead is the higher quality game, however Dead Rising 2 does provide an awesome open world with different possibilities and is just plain fun. But L4D seems way Way more polished and well put together.
For me, it has to be L4D2. Playing it 4 player co-op with friends is amazing, especially on expert mode.
edit: I love the Dead Rising series also. I was sad enough to get 1000/1000 achievement points on DR1 :P
L4D2 hands down! Better graphics, better gameplay, better multiplayer, better atmosphere. The zombies in dead rising 2 just stand there from what I was playing, I can just walk around them, I couldnt get away with that in L4D2 on any level.MoonMarvelZombies ≠ Rage Zombies
To me L4D2 can be more exciting, should I say DR2 is a more "Realistic" Zombie game and horrifying game with only two player? I t has better story. Both gameplay are fun in my opnion.

Blood thirsty zombies do not just ignore you as you walk by. Would you watch a zombie movie where the characters could walk up to a zombie, flip it off and then keep on walking? No, that would be a rip off.
Realistic? It's a game about zombies....I wouldn't use that word as zombies are not real. And Dead rising 2 isnt horrifying on any level. Its very cheesy and campy, all the zombies seem the same and rather harmless most of the time.To me L4D2 can be more exciting, should I say DR2 is a more "Realistic" Zombie game and horrifying game with only two player? L4D doesn't really have zombies, they are infected 28 days later style.
I prefer the take of games like Resident Evil outbreak. Not many zombies but also lack of weapons around which give you the tense feeling that youre gonna die xD
I like L4D2, but love Dead Rising 2. But it's quite difficult to decide....... MAKESHIFT WEAPONS!!!!!
DR2 may not look it but it has a very realistic view on a zombie outbreak. You see the Military trying to cover it up , people going insane and killing anyone in their path, looters and more. It shows humanity getting torn apart while l4d is more of '' No one is insane and the military is here to save us!!!''
[QUOTE="TerrorRizzing"][QUOTE="DragonfireXZ95"] What? L4D2 has better graphics than DR2... On PC anyway.DragonfireXZ95true, and I actually find both games hard to play on console. I mean after playing the pc version of both, the downgrade in performance is too much. DR2 is also full of bugs, much more than L4D2. Enemies get stuck on the geometry, especially bosses, like the motorcycle guy. And DR2 has AI? Really? it does? You also really think that DR2 is believable? That some riot group will try to plead with everyone to let the zombies live? Seriously? That's not believable at all. Note: Responding to jdsifer01. DR2 has no AI, the zombies act clueless with no real rhyme or reason, there is no strategy involved and the bosses seem just as lacking in any real logic. In L4D2 there is decent AI, you actually need strategy and to think to make it through. Most of all on harder levels because the zombies really are out to get you! Gives you an excellent feeling of I am gon die. Play the level hard rain, way better than anything on DR2. Still confuses about that black woman you save, she is standing on a counter and the zombie seem helpless to get her....sheesh.
Dead Rising 2. Clearly. L4D2 has what... 15 weapons? DR2 has hundreds. When killing zombies... variety increases longevity.
They are two completley different game types,
left 4 dead the zombies are actually dangerous, and you have to get to a safe zone but you don't really have to rush.
dead rising the zombies are kind of useless, but there are so many of them and your always on a time limit things can get a bit hairy, coupled with the inventory and there are really no reliable weapons
two different games where the pressure is from enemies vs setting really

i agree. the zombies in DR are more of an obstacle than anything else.I like l4d2 because it has intense multplayer which has some pretty great moments. AI is good? All the zombies have to do is run towards you. It's not that complicated. Ya they climb things but thats it. The human AI though is crazy good. I thought I was still playing with real people online until I looked and saw their names over their head.
DR2 is better for me because it does have good AI (surviors follow you this time around) and whoever said that they could just run around zombies probbaly only played the first one because this time around there are way too many to just run by them, in the casino's at least. The bosses are hard to beat, go fight the tiger and his master and tell me that it wasn't hard (well I tamed the tiger so that was the hard part). And the time and the fact that "you can't save everyone" (unless you want a hard and frustrating time) gives it the desperation that horror games need.
