Since Res4 still blows Dead Space into... Space. I'll take a true sequel instead of a ripoff. dr-venkman
Dead Space is far from a "ripoff".
dead space is just a RE4 ripoff, heck dead space isn't even in the same dimention as RE5
Gay-Lord-Perry
Dead Space is a AAA title, thus being in the same "dimension". Did any of you guys that trash Dead Space actually play it?
I'm probably gonna like RE5 better then, considering how much of a failure Dead Space was in atmosphere and horror.VandalvideoThen Resident Evil 5 is failure quadrupled in these departments (at least what was presented in the demo), and it's not convincing at all as an action game itself.

Atleast they're not trying and totally failing like Dead Space was. Talk about superficial atmosphere.

I gotta disagree. It was a triple quadruple failure.

honestly i know you dont like yahtzee and in his review he mentions how it rips off Event horizon, have you seen it?Yes, I have Event Horizon. Event Horizon was never made into a game, so that's not a concern of mine if people think Dead Space ripped it off. I like to call it "inspirations" instead.

But there was teh conspiracy involved111111111! Oh well, Dead Space heavily borrowed from System Shock 1 and 2 in means of narration devices and some techniques used in the plot, and that didn't stop me from enjoying and appreciating it.

failure in atmosphere??? considering the HUD is on the suit the main character wears it's pretty damn immersive with atmoshere.
Horror? I don't play a lot of horror games so i guess its all opinion but it was way scary for me, i had to turn it off a couple of times.
Based on what I saw from the demo, it's safe to say that Dead Space obliterates it, and if one want to accuse Dead Space of being a rip-off of something - at least do it properly, because it is, but not there where you point it.Salt_The_FriesI, for one, was actually happy to finally see a decent System Shock 2 ripoff rather than an underwhelming "spiritual successor" :P

I have completed it, thought it was a bit over rated, but overall a solid experience. RE5 will be better for sure though.[QUOTE="Salt_The_Fries"]Based on what I saw from the demo, it's safe to say that Dead Space obliterates it, and if one want to accuse Dead Space of being a rip-off of something - at least do it properly, because it is, but not there where you point it.thepwninatorI, for one, was actually happy to finally see a decent System Shock 2 ripoff rather than an underwhelming "spiritual successor" :P

Dead space had better atmosphere then RE4 and by the looks of it has better then RE5.

RE5 demo? Sure, no doubt about it :P I'm not so sure about Dead Space though-Dead Space, in my opinion, captured the essence of System Shock 2 more accurately than Bioshock, even though it wasn't marketed as being related to it in any way whatsoever (and I loves mah System Shock ;) ) :PI, for one, was actually happy to finally see a decent System Shock 2 ripoff rather than an underwhelming "spiritual successor" :P[QUOTE="thepwninator"][QUOTE="Salt_The_Fries"] [QUOTE="BioShockOwnz"]
