I played the RE5 demo a few times. It's like a slow boring non fluid version of dead space. Dead Space destroys it atleast from the demo.

Yeah, it is. Dead Space is really better than any RE, imo. RE is just overrated and so commercialized...Dead Space is just better.

Since Res4 still blows Dead Space into... Space. I'll take a true sequel instead of a ripoff.

Dead Space is a AAA title, thus being in the same "dimension". Did any of you guys that trash Dead Space actually play it?

Based on what I saw from the demo, it's safe to say that Dead Space obliterates it, and if one want to accuse Dead Space of being a rip-off of something - at least do it properly, because it is, but not there where you point it.

I'm probably gonna like RE5 better then, considering how much of a failure Dead Space was in atmosphere and horror.

Dead Space is an outstanding game...perhaps even my best game of 08...I can't say that it's better than Resident Evil 5 since I haven't played RE5 yet...but I'm pretty sure that comparing these two games is a bit of a stretch...sure they might be in the same genre but one focuses too much on "cool action sequences" over the other. so it really does depend on the gamer and what they find enjoyable.

Then Resident Evil 5 is failure quadrupled in these departments (at least what was presented in the demo), and it's not convincing at all as an action game itself.

I absolutely loved Dead Space, I really think it raised my expectations for RE5. Haven't played the RE5 demo yet so I can't say how I feel about it yet, but DeadSpace is top notch. I only bought it because I found a deal where it was buy two games get one free and to think my last choice was Dead Space, it was the Best surprise of 2008 for me.

Resident Evil stopped trying to be scary back with four. Atleast they're not trying and totally failing like Dead Space was. Talk about superficial atmosphere.

Is there any question that this is the case. It's obvious to anyone who played both. What is killing RE5 is that it's out in the open so you should be able to move faster. They should have kept it indoors with more horror then it could have been great. Right now I give it high scores in graphics only. Other than that it's a 7.0 game for me.

I agree, even though, I think Resident Evil 5 will be a good game, Capcom's willingness to just make a game for the sake of making another game is getting on my nerves. There's absolutely no change in controls over Resident Evil 4, besides the optional ability to strafe, and real-time weapon switching. That's very disappointing for me, it feels like they're putting even less innovation into this, than in Devil May Cry 4, and that's extremely sad in it's own right.

I gotta disagree. It was a triple quadruple failure.

Yes, I have Event Horizon. Event Horizon was never made into a game, so that's not a concern of mine if people think Dead Space ripped it off. I like to call it "inspirations" instead.

But there was teh conspiracy involved111111111! Oh well, Dead Space heavily borrowed from System Shock 1 and 2 in means of narration devices and some techniques used in the plot, and that didn't stop me from enjoying and appreciating it.

failure in atmosphere??? considering the HUD is on the suit the main character wears it's pretty damn immersive with atmoshere.

Horror? I don't play a lot of horror games so i guess its all opinion but it was way scary for me, i had to turn it off a couple of times.

I'm surprised how much hate Resident Evil 5 gets, especially after how well number 4 did. I haven't played 5 yet; just 4. I played the demo of Dead Space, and if Resident Evil 5 is anything like 4, then it blows Dead Space away, in my opinion.
