Ya but International Data Corporation (IDC) says that the PS3 sold 7 million consoles last month so there. You can even buy their report for $4,500.CanYouDiglt
Putin bought them as a Christmas gift for his friends !
[QUOTE="DataUsageLimit"][QUOTE="Chutebox"]360 has been profitable for nearly around 5 years. What is this? Your point? No it's what's your point since you made the contraception. Look up Burdon of Analysis. You claim this is a reason for MS to not release a new console. How does that make sense if they have already been profitable. It would make more sense to release now with extra money.More reason MS shouldn't release a new console yet (financially speaking). 360 is just killing in US still.
Chutebox
So 360 outsold the Wii U almost 3:1? Damn. That thing is going to get slaughtered when the 720/PS4 come out. 3rd party publishers are already ignoring it.
Oh, and as per usual, not a single PS3 exclusive on the list.
[QUOTE="Thefatness16"]Nintendo just did a really good job at restocking, plus they were impossible to find.Good god, the Wii and DS outsold the Wii U, and it's not supply constrained. We're gonna be looking at PS3 level #'s for a while. Hoping E3 can save it.
fernandmondego_
Hmm? What does this have to do with store stock. They sold less than PS3 dec 2006, and the dead Wii, and DS. That isn't good.
More reason MS shouldn't release a new console yet (financially speaking). 360 is just killing in US still.
Chutebox
If they could manage to release a new Xbox at a $300 price point (with better hardware), and have full backwards compatibility then they could probably ride the success of the 360 straight into the next generation.

Contraception? Am I having sex with someone?
My point was, and it's plainly in there, that they are killing all competition right now in US. Might as well keep with what's working until sales start to dwindle.
It will only get worse next year.Good god, the Wii and DS outsold the Wii U, and it's not supply constrained. We're gonna be looking at PS3 level #'s for a while. Hoping E3 can save it.

I don't think either Sony or MS will release a console for just 300$. 350$-400$ are the prices we will most likely see. Of course they could always offer multiple sku's at lower price points though. If they go higher than 350, stupid mistake for either of them.[QUOTE="Thefatness16"]So much for the 2.2M from VGchartz.https://twitter.com/gamasutra/status/289518495325114368

According to some people here Lolchartz has a very small error margin .
Just mention them on GAF and you are permabanned , and rightly so .
The market is down, and so is the Xbox. You don't wait to release a product right after the predecessor dies.More reason MS shouldn't release a new console yet (financially speaking). 360 is just killing in US still.

Actually, VGchartz now has it at 2.45. There US numbers for the WiiU are about 300K off from NPD.[QUOTE="Chutebox"]The market is down, and so is the Xbox. But even still I'm sure it'd do wonders to release at $300 given the current market of Xbox domination especially if it has backwards compatibility. They could release it alongside the Xbox 360 much like the Nintendo DS/3DS.

 at those saying handheld gaming is deadShinobishyguyHandheld gaming is dead. Only Nintendo handhelds sell, and that too only because of the strength of their lineups. There is no niche in the market otherwise to sustain handhelds like there used to be.
[QUOTE="Chutebox"][QUOTE="charizard1605"] Do you already use Xbox Live?charizard1605Don't have a 360, sold it long time ago.Ah. Well, this is probably what's going to happen anyway. Bear in mind the entire venture was very successful for Microsoft when they introduced it for the 360; also remember that pretty much everyone who is an active user of their 360 has a Gold subscription. Going the contract route enables Microsoft to provide the next Xbox at an supremely cheap price and also remain profitable. From a business standpoint, it's a genius move.
Oh, I don't doubt that at all. As a customer who knows better though, not so much. Unless they're actually selling really impressive hardware in the console.

Regardless, that is not a sign that handheld gaming is dying; it is. The 3DS is outpacing the DS because of the strength of its software lineups. Handheld gaming is dead, but this means nothing for Nintendo, because their handheld games make them immune from market trends.

With the rumored specs- which put it at the same level as a high mid to high range PC (as of right now)- I think the hardware in that thing will be brilliant, and enough to keep the system competitive for a full hardware cycle. If it is that good, and I can get it for $200? I'll bite. at those saying handheld gaming is deadShinobishyguyLol, I don't know what numbers you are looking at shinobishguy, but those numbers are dying. Nintendo fans like shinobishyguy seem to be not looking at the actual numbers, they are pretty darn bad. The world is not japan. Where the 3DS will never outsell home console in one year.

I just don't understand how some of you fail to at least consider some logic here.
Let's go over the facts.
Wii U Launch
Next to no advertising(WTF are they doing)
Next to no games(Except a rushed 2D Mario game that wasn't going to push systems)
No important games announced for the future(Except Pikmin which isn't a system seller)
Nintendo is doing one of two things:
1.) Rushed this launch and were so arrogant and out of touch with reality that they thought the Wii U would just sell itself like the Wii did or;
2.) They are planning a giant Marketing/Games announcing blitz to get this system rolling.
Let's face it, all of their studio's have been quiet for a very long time and the Wii hasn't seen new games and forever. They MUST have a host of games and partnerships to announce..at least I hope. If not, this system will be dead very soon.
