If Demon's Souls hadn't come out this generation, i probably would have givin up on this generation of consoles all together. lol @ the other games mentioned. it's an insult to even mention those games in the same category as Demon's Souls. Demon's Souls was destended to be a classic game the moment it was relesed to the gaming public...those other titles are just good games.

BTW:You are late...but like I said, it is a classic game. if you never played before now and played it in 2012 for the first time would would still be blown away. Amazing visionary masterpeice.

It's not the difficulty that is the most impressive feature in itself. It's the actual design that changes the way you play. Most games turned to max difficulty just mean you die a hell of a lot more. Demon and Dark Souls make the player much more cautious through their journey in the enviroment, and not take their enviroment for granted.

Meh...I think I saw a trailer for that game. The name sounds kind of familiar, but I recall seeing a trailer or an ad of some sort...thought it looked a little nerdy. Lupin497

There are a lot of great new IPs this gen that don't get talked about much. I don't know if I'd say DS is the best, but its certainly one of my favorites.

The main games I bought my PS3 for turned out to be major disappointments so DS really came as a pleasant surprise.

This gen goes pretty far back man. So many good IPs. Borderlands, Assassins, Portal, Condemned, Saints Row, Mass Effect, The Witcher, Dead Space, The Darkness, and an insane amount of arcade games (Super meat boy/Bastion/limbo/braid?). All perspective really. Demons Souls is probably my favorite new IP, but Super Meat Boy is a godsend for fans of 2d platformers. I love DS, but I can perfectly understand why others may not, or why they might prefer something else that is equally great in a different genre.

So you are basically saying that PS3 version looks miles better as it has cinematic blur.

I guess that's your opinion, I'd love to agree (especially since the Souls games are some of my absolute favorite games this generation), but there are too many other amazing series. Uncharted series, LittleBigPlanet series, Gears of War series, Bioshock series, Mass Effect series, Bad Company series (which is notable for bringing BF to consoles and not failing, if anything), Heavy Rain, Assassin's Creed, Borderlands, Dishonored, Crysis, etc.

Lots of fantastic games and IP's, it would be hard to pick just one out, even if it is as awesome as Demon's Souls.
