Despite MS's awful E3, it doesn't matter. Realistically, they have 2010 in a bag

I think what the TC is trying to say is that despite MS's awful E3 and all the hate in system wars...they are pretty much un-affected in terms of sales. 360s are putting up stellar sales figures and will certainly out sell the PS3 and may even outsell the Wii (as they have for the past few months).

In exclusives yeah...but not in 3rd party support or sales ironically. Yeah they're ahead overall but not so much that it can be considered that they are destroying MS...I mean since the 360 slim MS has outsold Nintendo.

The 360 has recently been doing well in the NPD, but it trails as much as it ever has in Japan, and Europe is a big question mark. To be honest, that's where the real battleground is. PS3 sold about 640,000 units (according to NPD) between April-June 2010 in North America, while simultaneously selling 2.4 million worldwide. The 360 sold about 831,000 units between April-June 2010 (according to NPD) in North America, while simultaneously selling 1.5 million units worldwide.

So the reason the PS3 has been catching up to the 360 has nothing to do with NA -- it's because the 360 sold a paltry ~669,000 units in other regions last quarter, while the PS3 sold ~1,760,000 units in other regions.

The question to me isn't whether the 360 can top the NPD with Kinect, it's can Microsoft figure out how to sell their system overseas?

since MS has released the SLIM the gap is now going the other way, expect the PS3 to be 5 million behind at the end of 2010. With the release of REach which is going to be bigger than GT5, and Kinect which has been preordered more than Move the opposite is going to happen my friend.

your numbers are pre xbox 360 slim announcement, we know that the PS3 was gaining ground, to think that the 360 is not selling the Slim well is absolutely crazy. Did you see the NPD data last month for the SLim? It was at 446,000, and outsold the PS3 2-1

I think you mean "in the bag" lol. If you meant "a bag" that would mean other companies like Sony and Nintendo could also have 2010 in a bag (not saying they can't, just that this is what your thread is about lol). If it was "the bag" then that would be the only bag that matters.

Kinect needs to sell first while the Wii is already out and has been selling very well throughout the whole year. Wii Party's going to be something.:P Also I'm not really sure how long the appeal of Kinect will last, I mean peripherals don't usually have the best lasting value. (Eyetoy, Wii balance board, Wii zapper & currently Wii motion + (not enough support imo)).

Well, I guess I prefer LBP2 and GT5 to Halo : Reach and that crap (kinect).

IMO the PS3 is best fit for me as I don't like that much shooters. I got a racing game, a platformer and an action-adventure.
