And look at the second part, it gets even more specific for their concurrency benchmark, lmao. Give it one week and it probably will have a lower concurrent rate than the top 100 PC games.

Why are you comparing free games with games that cost anything from 70 to 150 euros?

I don't know what to make of this news. On one hand it is sad that so many people still support Destiny and play this game after all the BS. On the other, maybe the changes are actually worthwhile, but my gut tells me the game is still too shallow. Plus, I don't want to have to put up with 30fps again.

Why? Its a GREAT game with almost an infinite replayability besides the game finally has a proper story mode! the characters you can interact with now, it has humor and its simply a new game.

Comparing free to play games that rely on dlc to be profitable.....

This is coming from an old time Bungie fan, but there's just something about the overall art aesthetic of the game that puts me off. It's like the world is "sterile" and the story seemed quite reductionist, at least in the introductory presentations I watched. The antagonist was literally described as a "great darkness" and all. Meh...I hope the Destiny fans really enjoy this expansion. Bungie has a lot of talent.

Bungie games have always been like that. It's always large colorful spaces that are clean and empty.

Never played Destiny until the release of the Taken King. Glad I waited. This game is just.... I'm in love with it. Great job Bungie

As sad as this may sound, i almost re purchased the original game and the new ripoff expansion yesterday after 7 months of not playing. The only thing that almost made me do it was the fact that there's finally repeatable/challenging content that isn't time gated by a week.

Too bad the DLC...not expansion....will probably void of any real content.

1. WoW isn't f2p.

2. I doubt Destiny will have more concurrent than even CS:GO after a month.

3. Since this isn't a sales thread, I'm allowed to use F2P which both scored substantially higher and have exponentially more concurrent than Destiny ever will.

LOL CS:GO blows donkey ***, "oh lets finally fix hit boxes that were from 2001", I don't even believe they released the game in that state, but again people suck valves **** at anything that they make.

Anyways TTK has been pretty fun, that first mission was better than anything pre TTK. Also Nathan Fillion = best actor/voice actor of all time

It is an expansion. Destiny has been reworked in a big way with The Taken King.

What is your definition of "real content'? Cause Destiny does add quite a bit to the game, I wouldn't say it's double the size of OG Destiny from one year ago, but it is a hefty expansion.

Of course, Destiny is awesome.

Haven't gotten around to Taken King content yet. I've slowly been playing through House of Wolves and Dark Below DLC since my progress there got reset for some reason. Also, all the fancy legendary and exotic gear is easily getting outclassed by common gear. Back before Taken King update the max level for gear was 20, same for player level, except the player level could go higher depending on the light level of players combined armor pieces. I got to level 32, and the game honored that level when it transitioned over. However, my exotic and legendary weapons are weak sauce now. I'll need to earn a better arsenal. Same for armor too. Because of all this I haven't been able to jump into Taken King content yet. But nearly there.

If you ever grinded in Destiny then you'll be surprised how quickly you level up now, it's crazy. Not sure what happens after I hit level 40, guess we'll see. Probably grinding now will be for light, but effectively just seeking out and equipping weapons with better attack stats, as well as armor with better defensive stats.

Sad all you all gotta gate on an otherwise awesome game. And, the base game and all DLC to date is easily worth the $60 asking price. And hey, probably will be on sale Black Friday or holidays for $30, $40. For the amount of fun hours you can put into it, it's really nothing. Gameplay is solid. One would really have to hate life to not having any fun here.

Not surprised. Lots of stupid people buy games. My favorite part is how they use crucible maps for pve missions now.

Too bad destiny is shit to me. I tried getting back into it after they added ttk updates for everyone but I just couldn't do it. Also they are locking out content that used to be in the vanilla version if you don't get ttk. So that means vanilla destiny has less content today than it had when it launched (which was little)

This is just so ridiculous... So logging in on my ps4 to see if i could buy a digital version of Destiny (only the original game with no addition), that's not available on psn... Then, i checked for the expansion and it doesn't let you buy it for $40 unless you already own both dlc's. I own the first dlc and it was a laughable joke, i don't want the 2nd worthless trash of a dlc and im unable to purchase the expansion for $40. What a load of shit, no way in fk im ever spending 79.99 (in canada games are overpriced af nowdays) for the original game that i can get for $15, a dlc that i already own, another dlc that i don't care nor want to even try and the expansion which im mildly interested. F*cking activision i swear.

I'm not going to rip it a new one in any way considering I played and enjoyed it for a long while.

But I bought the last 2 DLC's as a bundle before any info on them came out.....and I got diddly shit with them. Couple of strikes....1 raid that was broken as shit...then nothing to do in the last one b/c anything worth while required premades.

Neither of the DLC's had any real story to them <---- part of the void of content.

I don't care if they rework it do that it's a totally new game. It was fun from the beginning for me.

yes, its fking ridiculous, i've never see this kind of bs in any games ever. Its like they're forcing you to buy mediocre dlc's just to access to the expansion which btw isn't discounted or anything. You literally pay the full $40 AND is forced to buy the other two dlc's, that's $80 just to play the expansion. F8ck this game.

True, But typically WoW and other MMO's typically make the previous expansions at an extreme discount before releasing the new one. Hell, GW2 is going to make them free every time a new one comes.

And they have considerably more content than The Taken King for the same price, and release at longer intervals.

I bet you this expansion is only well received because people that still play Destiny are so used to receive worthless content that when something 7/10 worthy comes out, its automatically amazing and is 11/10 worthy. its as if Activision lowered every1's standard by so much that even overpriced crap can be enjoyable.

I'd much rather grind in souls games than doing it in Destiny. Played the beta, thought it was fun but lacked content, it's a beta duh.. So my brother bought the Bundle that came with original destiny. Played for a month and it was so boring after a while. No interest in TTK but enjoy Finalstar.
