@silversix_: you dont seem to grasp what an mmo is.

meh I saw nothing special about Destiny anybody want to name any legit reason to even get excited for this game.
@amazonangry: knew some1 would come around with this lol. They don't have to be all the same and not because the world of lets say gw1 is instanced=not an mmo. Same with Destiny except there's nothing instanced but Strikes/raid as it should be.

Lots of fun with co-bros. Already have a clan ready for the start. We've all put in a hundred or more hours in the beta build.

1:49.30 for any non believers.
Wow, just wow. This has just killed my hype for this game lol.
Hopefully this will enlighten those who believed Bungie was doing their best to bring a dense rich game.

The beta stretched from July 17th to 27th, with two days offline.
That's like 11+ hours a day.
That's incredibly disappointing. I played the beta and me and my friend beat all the story missions on earth in like an hour or two. I was expecting this game to be a lot bigger when it released. I'm really not seeing where that 500 millions dollars went now. I have absolutely no desire to play the PVP because that mode is simply terrible and boring. I'm here for the story and co-op, and so far the story from the beta was very uninteresting and the co-op is broken up by long load times between each mission.

It wasn't off for two full days--more like a day and a half. Ok so maybe not a hundred or more hours, but four + hours per day at least. And the weekend nights around 8-10 hours each.
Bungie is one of the few devs who haven't let me down yet when it comes to value when buying a game at launch so I'm giving them the benefit of doubt with destiny. If they burn me it will take them at least two more games to regain my trust.
It's so weird how people jump to conclusions before even knowing what's up. Also, how much do you expect to get for $60?
Ever tried Guild Wars 2 .?
I wouldn't be surprised if damn near a half of all the content they've been working on over the last few years will be released as DLC. Doesn't really bug me though as I was never hyped for the game or its sequels in the first place. It looked boring as ****. If you want a badass MMO style FPS, just play Planetside 2.
well, they do plan to release two expansions and I'm guessing more after that, maybe better I wait until I get a next gen console before getting it, maybe if I wait long enough a DLC loaded edition will come out
I was so hyped for this game and now it seems like you'll run out of things to do in under a week. So it looks like those who've tried the beta and were on Moon explored half the explorable zones being in the full game (yes im aware that not everything was opened but still, you've seen the large majority of that planet's explorable area). F.a.w.k.i.n.g disappointed and my fears for this game became reality. This is an mmo, mmo smaller than Borderlands 1 :(. Still buying but god damn did this destroyed my hype lol.
And yet Bungie described the beta as representing "a modicum" of the full game. And considering each map in Destiny is nearly larger than Halo: Reach, I contest that we have not see much of Destiny at all.

I will pray every day until the 9th for this to be true but you know what i think? I think its PR bs to calm everyone down. Also, Reach isn't big so i don't know why this is supposed to be impressive.

When Bungie says the beta is a tiny representation of the game, I believe the beta is a tiny representation of the final game.
@R3FURBISHED: okay but maybe they consider the same Strikes/Raid with different difficulty as new content which isn't in reality? Its not like they'll say stuff such as "you've played half of our game if you were in our beta and tried Moon". Of course they'll say there's a lot left, that's marketing for any video game ever. i have seen the weapons/armor sheet for the full game and you can very well see how its lacking compared to rpg's and lacking 3x compared to mmo's.
Yeah I must say I'm a little worried that for those of us who want to play it as a predominately SP experience, might be disappointed.
At this stage I'm still going to buy it (because it has potential) but I wouldn't be surprised if I end up returning it if it ends up forcing me to do MP/co-op.
I knew it wasn't as ambitious as Bungie tried to lead us to believe but I thought there was a little more to it then this. If I would've known Earth was 1/4 the game then I probably would've just stuck with crucible.

I feel you @silversix_ . Im thinking exactly the same. Overhype killed it for me. I was waiting something beyond ...a more eye candy borderlands with a Halo spin off . You still buying ..well i wont !
Typical. I thoroughly enjoyed the beta, but SW seems to hate it.
Just to let you know, this was and still is my most anticipated title until the end of 2014 and 2nd most hyped title for the whole year. Did not make this to hate on the game. i also enjoyed the beta and alpha but that has nothing to do with the thread which is about full game's release lack of content
Have to say it's pretty funny seeing people try to bash Destiny, it's like the same bullshit routine by the same people. W/e a typical AAA game comes out here's what it's like on SW
Step 1: same people bash it for sucking before even playing it
Step 2: game gets released, (most of the time) gets amazing scores across the board with a 85+ on metacritic. Proceed to still bash the game for sucking

i hope you're not talking about me here because im one of the only who defended that god damn thing lol
yeah id say leave rpgs and mmos like that for the PC.
never was interested in an RPG shooter anyway. THey shouldve just made another Halo type of game but a new franchise that would be multiplatform.
And this game would be great on PC, too.
What a waste lol.
And the wild hermies appear to commence their begging and DCing.
I got pretty tired of Russia during the alpha and was already turned off to doing it again during the beta.. I was expecting the final game to have way more content... Like 6-10 planets with several areas/continents on earth
The game can get old and mundane quick unless there is way more variety
Have you played the alpha/beta? Missions are extremely easy and quick. It'll be nowhere near 20h campaign and if you're playing in co-op (as you should) it'll be even easier... Now i know what you're trying to say and compare this to other shooters to justify Destiny's very limited content but you can't because this is an mmo. Compare it to that, not 10h shooters with multiplayer. It should keep you busy until an expansion comes 6 months later and with only 4 zones to explore good luck with that.
Well to be fair a lot of the content you never even got to see like Venus, Mars, Europa, as well as the locked off content on Earth and the Moon.
It's Beta it's supposed to be easy and quick to iron out the bugs faster. I've see worse Betas Like The Elder Scrolls online and they charge a subscription fee as well as pay wall content locked out.
They're obviously confident that they at least tried to make a good game or they wouldn't have opened up Beta to everyone. There is more content here than in say Titian Fall and is definitely less broken than ESO. You are right it is a MMO but not the traditional point click ability cool down WoW clone. I'll wait for full game reviews before I make any final decisions.
just wish Bungie come clean with this everything you did will carry-over to main game ASAP cause I feels like everything I did was a joke and I really don't feel like starting a Warlock Lv1 again.
Well that's Beta... Shouldn't expect that, hell some betas they charge you to play...

When did I beg for anything? Lol
It's obvious this game would be great if ported to PC, everything about it is literally perfect for the PC platform. It's an FPS, perfect for KB/M. It's showing lack of content: mods are your friends. MMO: on PC you'll get the highest player count.
I was never hyped for this game. I could be playing it right now, I do own a console. But I choose not to because there are better games that need playing. :^)
I must be the only person on these forums that honestly had zero interest in this game from the beginning.

Nope. You can count me in. From the start it's looked like an mmofps lite. But i was, and still am, curious to see how it goes.
This is really odd because when the game was first announced they made a pretty strong case for "you can go anywhere you see" which seemed like a pretty crucial point to make in a game like this. It's hard for me to work out the scale without playing it, but I thought it would be huge based on what the hype was saying.
I liked what I played. I could care less what you want to call it or classify it as. It was fun for me, that's all I care about.
You could care less? So that means you care quote a lot?
Hmmm, I guess you're right. I sure do care "quote" a lot. Good job.

Remember what they were saying about Alan Wake how its fully open world and you could go anywhere back in like 07 or 08? Well, it got consolized and maybe (hopefully not) its happening to Destiny as well.

Just ignore him. He's another one of those anti-PC idiots.

Yeah, I had that typo corrected a few seconds after writing the post, I'm not sure why you found it important to quote though or what is has to do with your original post.
It seems like you called me out for using incorrect grammar or an improper phrase. I just found it ironic since you misspelled "quite." It's not a big deal.
What I originally meant to convey is that I don't really care what you want to classify the game as. I enjoyed it immensely. We cool, homie.
