Well they couldn't say like "in year 2500", they had to properly place the game's time line before the firsts. jamejame
Yup, but that's essentially my point about the first one and in a way skrat_01 point also. Keeping the place of the game properly in the timeline is important, but so is the consistency of the universe. To be frank I don't mind it much, that's why I said(in a way) to forget about it in the first place and to just let the developers do their thing. But if you're trully keeping with the timeline of the other games, this game didn't necessarily have to be a prequel, nor did they have to exaggerate the hell out of it.
In the end though, that's what they decided to go with. Let's see what they will do with the franchise... hell, I'm curious.
Makes you wonder why they're even calling it a prequel. Is there any story ties to the other games? I've never played them, but unless specific events are depicted in this trailer that would be inconsistent if they occurred after the first two, I'd ditch the prequel thing altogether.Yes, its already been stated that the events in this game will led to the forming of UNATCO which plays a crucial role in the first game which that then obviously ties into the first game. As the sub-title suggests Human Revolution was when mechanical mods were first occurring which leads to the large conflict between those that are pro-mod and those that are anti-mod which is a major theme in the first two games. As well as setting up the conflict between mechanical mods and nanotechnology mods as the latter's superiority. Which is then even surpassed with biological mods.
So already there is enough to tie into the other two to be considered a prequel.
