This is a wildly preposterous and libellous accusation that is completely unfounded and we treat it extremely seriously.
We have no reason to "fake" an interview and we would urge any proponent of this claim to take a serious and revised look at our long and growing list of interviews we have conducted with many of the leading games development companies, publishers and industry experts. (See link below).
PSU Interviews List
For the benefit of our readership and to once and for all quash this speculative nonsense we thought it best to issue a brief public statement.
Some Background
- The article went up circumventing our editors and normal quality control procedures which was the primary reason for the article containing certain spelling/grammar issues.
- The interview was also conducted over the telephone - not by e-mail which meant much of the responses had to be rewritten, leading to some other quality issues.
- We fully accept that the quality was poor, but these were the actions of a rogue journalist and were not authorized by myself or any of the senior site staff.
- The authors names were not given at the request of the authors themselves. I found this strange myself, and we did add the author names in eventually after we had sought permission to do so.
- And finally at Gabe Newell's (Founder of Valve) request, we were asked to pull the article because it ended up being posted at N4G and we were specifically asked not to post in on that site.
- This was a communication issue which upset him and although I do not understand the logic behind it not going on N4G, that is a completely separate issue.
PSU.com post numerous interviews every week from a wide variety of developers and whilst the site staff fully accept that the article did not meet our usual high standards the claim that the article is "fake" is a false one.
Excpect a brand new interview with Valve Software in the near future.

The world anxiously awaits Gabe Newell's clarification on this ever so truthful interview cows continue to use as "proof" of PS3 power and 360 weakness. This is some of the funniest damage control ever from a site. If you look through the Gamespot forums this article has a rather sordid history.
