No one in this thread has explained why they want Nintendo to fail. So it must be irrational.

I actually want the Wii U to fail. This will force Nintendo to do one of two things. Either drop out the console race and focus on games as a third party, or this will force them to get their heads out their ass and make a real console next time around instead of the crap they have made the last two gens that has done nothing but help hold gaming back.AmazonTreeBoaProblem is N64 and GameCube didn't end up well as 2 gens before them, Wii was there rebirth (thats why they so confident about original ideas now days).

Wii U is selling less software than the Vita
Gue1
No sh/t they postponed all games.
But 2D Mario and Nintendo Land have outsold Vita's best selling game already, and those will continue to sell due to legs.
Wii U will survive on key Nintendo franchises, its 1st party software lineup will be incredible, just like N64, GC and Wii.
No need to wait for them. PC/WiiU baby. 360/PC games like COD2, Oblivion, Condemned, Viva Pinata, Gears of War, Bioshock, Mass Effect, were all pretty big for 360 in it's first 2 years on the market. How bout a WiiU/PC Sim City? Or Witcher 3? Or Total War?[QUOTE="locopatho"][QUOTE="aroxx_ab"]
Yeah but need be fair, kinda impossible for WiiU to get MS/Sony "next gen" multiplat when those not even out on the market yet....jeeez :|

Sim City and Total war(strategy?) is both PC games you want play with KB/M, consoles is irrelevant.
Wither 3 we don't know more than it will be on "next gen hardware" what the devs now mean with that.
Actually the Wii U controller would be ideal for something like Total War. It might even be a better setup than the keyboard and mouse if used properly.I actually want the Wii U to fail. Err dropping out of the home console race means they'll go handheld only.
I would guess, get rid of Retro Studios, significantly reduce team sizes, and focus all 1st party efforts on a single handheld.
It is impossible for Nintendo to completely go the Sega way anytime soon. At least a decade and I'm being generous.

Which is why there should be no excuse for Nintendo to make ADVANCE WARS U!

I agree. Think about a total war game where you could use the stylus controls to set formations and draw marching paths for units. You could use the joysticks to zoom into the action on your television and control the whole battle from a bird's eye view on your controller. It would be pretty sweet. Unfortunately, we probably will never see it.They need to come out with a new, great looking Zelda game and all will be forgiven. Problem is they take 5 years to make, for whatever reason.donalbane
And the problem is for as long as the time is between releases, they're always so damn similar. I hope Nintendo really changes things up a bit for this next one but I'm doubtful.
[QUOTE=""]Pubs and devs never recoiled from PS3 like they seem to be with Wii U (though this is anecdotal). There was always the confidence that the numbers would get there over time with PS3. Im not sensing that with Wii U.
I had a data point yesterday at lunch with a high budget Wii U game that was hoping to sell millions over time. It only managed tens of thousands.Gue1
That is a damning statement considering that's probably the darkest hour a PS console may ever have. It doesn't get worse that that. Back then the PS3 was living off hope alone.
I've always given Sony massive props for climbing out of that hole.
