[QUOTE="DragonfireXZ95"][QUOTE="princeofshapeir"] It's also available on iPod touch, and I'm a little concerned that you don't have a smart phone but you do have a decent gaming PC.princeofshapeir

So, to play Diablo 3 you now need to have a cell phone

PC gaming LOL LOL, i cant believe i just read that

Most people have a smart phone or iPod touch, and I'm betting even you do. If you don't, well, sorry, but if you do all it takes is a measly $6.50 to secure your Battle.net account.

Yeah, I love Diablo 3, but it's still a joke to have to pay 6.50 for an authenticator of any kind just to protect an account. If Steam can protect it's users so well, I'm sure Blizzard should have no problem doing the same thing. Yet they have tons of problems.

[QUOTE="DragonfireXZ95"][QUOTE="princeofshapeir"][QUOTE="DragonfireXZ95"] Why would you be concerned? I don't need a smart phone for anything.

Well, if your lifestyle doesn't make it necessary, whatever. But what's really your opposition to paying a measly $6.50 for maximum security for your Battle.net account? Do you think you're making a statement by not paying for it?

I don't see what I do or don't do concerns you at all. I can do what I want, can I not? I do have an Ipod Touch, I'll give that a try.

Well, when you say you won't pay $6.50 for an authenticator and when questioned why respond with "I CAN DO WHATEVER I WANT I DON'T HAVE TO EXPLAIN MYSELF TO YOU," you look a little silly.

Because they shouldn't be forcing people to pay for extra security. Steam Guard is free and doesn't require smart phone.

Steam has faced its share of hacks, and the outburst of the trading community has resulted in numerous account thefts.

Steam hasn't had nearly the amount of hacks Blizzard games has had.

Steam also has been hacked mostly by phishing. Whereas Diablo 3 accounts have been hacked just by playing in a public game. Gee, I wonder which is worse.

Why not just pay the $6.50 and secure your account? It's a piddly, one-time investment that will guarantee you peace of mind and save you from possible headaches in the future. I just can't understand refusing to secure your account because your "principle" forbids you to pay a few dollars.

Why not just pay 60 dollars a year for Xbox Live while you're at it? Oh, and all those little costumes that cost 4 bucks on Street Fighter? Throw those in too. Yeah, no thanks. I know when I'm getting screwed and I'm not taking the bait. I have plenty of friends to play the game with, almost always someone is on, so I don't really care about playing in public games to be honest.

Insignificant DLC and the cost of XBL hardly compare to the $6.50 investment to secure your Battle.net account.

But its free, how is that being screwed?

Blizzard provide the same username/password security that everyone one else does, xbla/psn included, however as its games are the most popular in the world it is more attractive to hackers.

The authenticator is simply another level of security, it is also optional. Plus its your own fault if you fill your PC with malware etc.

Indeed, because as we know..such thing as hacking accounts never happens on consoles...oh..wait :D

loosingENDS

Well, they dont

Because all console games are offline and not online only crap

With Diablo 3 you dont have a choice of just buying the game and play it offline, that is the problem, with consoles all games can be bought and played offline

And no, when you play offline you cant possibly get a hacked account, it is physically impossible

But that's wrong you idiot.

It's not free? The authenticator is 6.50? Last I checked, 6.50 is not free. I'm going to try the Ipod app and see how it works anyway. Don't know why you guys are all up in my grill about not wanting to buy an authenticator. It's not like you see any share of the profits for it.

Mobile authenticator is, which is the one he's referring to. You have the option to pay $6.5, or get an app for free. You have the choice to get it for free, whether or not you make that choice is of course yours. The app works just as well as the authenticator, and unlike the authenticator it doesn't have a limited amount of battery (a few years, but still limited).

[QUOTE="Inconsistancy"]

Stop visiting stupid sites then? It's people like this who need to download antivirus crap.

I have antivirus crap, but it never finds anything, just a precaution.

The game's a cheap grindfest anyway, let them hack.

DragonfireXZ95

It's playing Inferno difficulty in public games. People get targeted and hacked doing this. That's why I completely avoid playing Inferno public games. I also refuse to buy an authenticator to keep my account safe. There should be no problems and I shouldn't have to pay extra to keep my sh*t safe.

Yeah I think it's fvcking ridiculous to charge for extra safety.

Wow, so much stupidity from LE >__>

But to make along story short: D3 isn't the first game that has been hacked, there are several console games as well.

Do I like the always online DRM? No, of corse not. Am I happy with Blizzard who allowed such a thing to happen after WoW? Of corse not.

But still, your argument is BS, it happens on consoles as well.

Also, there ARE games that are online only on consoles as well, including MAG or DCUO.

Pretty much everything you said, LE, wa once again ALL WRONG.

You really start to annoy me with your uninformed blind fanboyism

Sure there are 1 in a million games on consoles that are online only and is garbage noone cares about

But Diablo 3 is one of the top PC games and you would find many to care about not beeing able to play the game properly

Check their boards.

There is no proof about it and they even tried to show blizzard how they did it but they were unable to. They are trolling... However there was a item dupe bug that allowed people to salvage the same item over and over again (the duped item would disappear if they relog). The Asian servers had a roll back due to that exploit and it have been fixed.

But tenaka2 quoted a post where DragonfireXZ95 said he doesn't have a smartphone. And to need a third party device that isn't used for a lot of other pc applications is stupid. This could've been avoided by not using always online DRM, I think.

By now we're used to pretty stupid stuff from you. But this takes the cake. It has to be the dumbest post you've ever made. Congratulations. Derp, nobody can hack my XBL account because I just go offline and make it physically impossible.

The Asian servers had a roll back due to that exploit and it have been fixed.

Showing it = instant ban...so why would they show it?

O.o Anyway there is no proof of any kind of Gold dupe exploit (it happened on a live stream according to people) however the video in question had no gold dupe exploit in it. The guy from the video himself have said that there is none while one of his friends have said there is. They are just trolling people.

PC is too popular. Also clearly Blizzard = PC.GhoX

Well it is somewhat true. Blizzard is like the only reason PC gaming matters

Its a free app that generates a unique random number that you log into your blizzard account with, anyone not using one is an idiot.

It costs nothing, just do a search in your app store.

tenaka2

I don't use one because owning a smart phone in Japan is expensive, especially when you are paying for two phones.

That's as true as saying "Kinetic is all Xbox has left". Try harder.

That's not the same, it is factual that xbox only has kinect, however it is fictitous that the PC only has Blizzard.

Because as everyone knows there are many many more dev houses focused on PC then there is on consoles.

[QUOTE="princeofshapeir"][QUOTE="DragonfireXZ95"] Can't. No smart phone.loosingENDS

It's also available on iPod touch, and I'm a little concerned that you don't have a smart phone but you do have a decent gaming PC.

So, to play Diablo 3 you now need to have a cell phone

PC gaming LOL LOL, i cant believe i just read that

You can't be serious. You're an Xbox fanboy, so you're the last person who sould complain about that, considering every single damn 360 exclusive will soon require smartphone or tablet to get full experience.
