Diablo 3 is the only game to live up to such insurmountable hype

Long dev cycles and years of ever increasing hype usually means bad news for most games. It hurt Alan Wake, and it pretty much spelled doom for Too Human and Duke Nukem Forever. If developers take too long then gamers begin to let their imaginations run wild and their expectations sore to unnattainable heights.

One game however, emerged from the darkness. One game, arose from the impervious mists. One game, straddled the evangelical horse and like a divine god rode into our hearts and souls. That game... is Diablo 3. It lived up to it's amazing predecessors and broke on through the barriers of impossible. It's the only game to achieve this with such effortless pose.

My hat is off to Blizzard. Can you think of any other games besides the godly D3 that have lived up to such immense expectations? I can't.

I'd agree if Patch 1.0.3 didn't exist.

Seriously, f*ck paying 60 bucks for a game that really isn't on your computer.I'll wait until it's on sale.

I was expecting the game to be a big let down and was really surprised by how it ended up. Its not the best game ever but a really great one I recommend.

Hmmm... I don't know. To me it has become quite a disappointment. For what the predecessors were at the time, this one surely isn't up to the standarts.

And in terms of overall critical reception, MGS4 is not the highest rated MGS game.

I agree that MGS4 was the only game that lived up to the hype, that was an amazing game and send off for snake

Watered down stealth, a meandering and forgettable story, lazy storytelling, 4 bland environments as opposed to the one fleshed out cohesive environment in the other games, the worst boss fights in the series, uneven pacing. MGS4 is the worst entry in the series. The graphics are also less impressive relative to its generation. MGS1-MGS3 were some of the best looking games of their generations. MGS4 is not.

It's easily the worst game in the series.
