Diablo III VS FFXIII, both are RPG, which one you think will be the better one?

i would want to bet anyone that FFXIII will EAT diablo 3 in sales, but what game will be better, diablo 3lovemasterchief

But to be fair, I stopped playing FF games (really any jrpg) when they starting making the male character full of womanly emotion..

I really do not care for that personally, i mean i would have to stop playing a host of great games if i did care that much for the charatcer sex in a game, it is just not a big deal to me

If you want real mature, play Gothic RPGs btw, Oblivion comparing will look like the most cheerfull game ever created

Yes, I thought we got over this as a society... I can honestly say a female being the lead of FFXIII didn't phase me for a second, it just reminded me of FFIV and Terra, which might not have been the only main character as in FFVI everyone felt kind of like a main character, but either way.

I dont think we will ever know which one sold better. I mean blizzard never releases total sales numbers. I really dont know why... would love to know the total sales of the original World of Warcraft box. the number must be mind blowing. we are talking about sth like 30mSamiRDuran

They do usually, the problem is that Blizzard games have a habit of selling for a very long time, and thus all the numbers they give become outdated pretty fast. If you actually look at the top 20 Best selling PC games of any year, all the Blizzard battlechests will be on their.

Nomura doesn't want the game to go to 360 I believe, that doesn't set it in stone, but the directors opinion can hold some weight.

That just shows us how much you knowabout Final Fantasy XIII versus your beloved Diablo 3(which I'm also getting). Lightning isn't like Yuna. Aeris, or even Tifa. She isn't a girl; she's a woman! Not to mention an aggressive one standing at 5'10"(two inches taller then Cloud). She was apart of Cocoon's military force prior to the events in the storyline. She's suppose to be strong and militant; at the same time womanly. A good comparison would be the Major from Ghost in the Shell who can seriously kick ass. Also the storyline is going to be live Dragon Quest IV --there isn't one main character, but you'll see the story from each character's perspective.

This is an impossible question. Both will be the pinnacle of their subgenres.

Well, i dont play WRPGs, and i play a lot JRPGs, so...for me FFXIII will be the best, recently after reading about the combat system the game has earning some serious hype from my part, and Diablo III will be great, but not as great as FFXIII.

BTW, i dont care at all if the main character is girl or guy.

I'm very much looking forward to FFXIII and the idea that the game will be inferior because of a female lead never even crossed my mind until reading this thread. People are kind of unbelievable. I suppose some of these posters didn't play a sorceress, amazon, or assassin in d2? Yeah, anyhow... I'm looking forward to Diablo3 just as much. The complaints about the art direction are mostly unfounded (it doesn't look like WoW). I won't really pick one over the other as D3 I will play for the hack-and-slash multiplayer co-op and loots and FFXIII I will play for the story.

I understand that those are both RPGs, but that doesn't mean they are easy to compare. Diablo is an action RPG while FFXIII is going to be a slower, more thoughtful RPG. I have been waiting for Diablo for years and years, but I still am finding myself a bit more excited for FFXIII. Going to be epic.NAPK1NS

As I said, IF Diablo 3 comes out on consoles, which still hasn't been discounted AFAIK, it will be 360 + PS3 + PC and it will win. Hell even if its PC-only D3 still has a shot. Never underestimate Blizzard. They got 10 million people to sign up for an MMO... 10 million users in an MMO would have been an April Fools joke at GS 10 years ago.

Don't get me wrong, I am hyped for FF13, it's one of my most anticipated games this gen... but Blizzard can do no wrong as far as I'm concerned. If Diablo comes out on consoles I will buy both a PC and a console version.

Diablo 3 will kill any competition in its sub-genre because it is the game that made the genre and still is the best. However, comparing it to FF13 isnt very fair since one has a lot of replayability, over the top characters and an adrenaline rush compared to a story focused game with some action but it will no doubt be dull compared to the other with no replayability. While I'm at it let me state that Diablo III will deliver us from evil and be the salvation!

It's not so much the fact it will be a woman, it's the way the character are portrayed in recent FF games. They are like soap operas...and with a woman on point this time around...you just know it will be the most over dramatic one to date.

Your oversympliying everything though...yes, technically you do click on an enemy and atack it. But thats like saying all you do in an RTS is click on units and move them around. While its technically true, its a gross simplification of the entire game.

In all honesty, I don't care for neither games. But Diablo 3 seems to be more interesting and fun whereas I am not liking the direction of FFXIII at all. Pardon me, but I prefer my male characters to look like males.
