If you put Bad Company and Mirror's Edge together it still wouldn't be as good as Call of Duty 4.

Hmm the dev that made a a crappy game and then a sequel to that game that brought nothing new to the serires

If CoD4 was so crappy, then why are people up in arms about losing PC features for the sequel? Shouldn't you guys just not care?

Look what I found concerning the beta on the BC2 forums. :P "As for the beta, we'll have more details later this week," an EA spokesperson told Blend Games. http://planetbattlefield.gamespy.com/fullstory.php?id=160581

This whole Infinity Ward is garbage is completely ridiculous. Lets see... Dice have brought us titles like Mirrors edge and Bf:bc. Both of these games have been completely mediocre, and when being compared to the likes of Call Of Duty 4, well you would have to be pretty ignorant to say these games are of higher quality. People are also being hung up on the no servers for MW2(I agree it is stupid). But they are overlooking the game becasue of one minor fault, and completely disregarding Infinity Ward as a Quality game developer. But really, Call of duty 4 was, and still is considered to be one of the best offline/online FPS games out there. Modern Warfare 2 isn't out yet, but i'm fairly certain it will take the crown from its predecessor. And Dice>Infinity Ward, well... it makes me sad that people can think this.

Known this for a while now dont quite understand your last statement thoughsmokingsbad
I think it was for the sake of System Wars.

TC I agree, Mirror's Edge and Battlefield are the some of the best games I've ever played, I wish I could say the same for IW's games.

LOL @ using MW vs BC

BF2> BF2142 > MW and it's years older.

COD series is just rehashing with minor tweaks from game to game, fun for a week but then dropped by anyone who wants to play an ACTUAL competitive fps. I didn't play for like 7 months then logged on, picked up a p90, and went 20K - 7D. The Battlefield series is more challanging, more dynamic, and more fun. Without the release of BF2 modern warfare would not exist, IW would be continuing to spam the WW2 invasions and *insert church and bridge* scene here games that they got from MoH in its hay day.

Well, I voted disagree even though I will probably pick up bad company 2 and not modern warfare 2. Thing is, even though I am tired of this new gameplay engine in the COD series, it is most certainly more polished overall than anything DICE puts out. DICE has always had great ideas, but somehow seems to screw up some overall details that always detract from the experience. From Crash To Desktop on the PC, to no mics working on PS3, to terrible squad persistence between games, and a who's who of glitches and game exploits. Lets not forget constantly screwing with hit detection every time the community cries about dieing too fast. Some of the worst and most inconsistent hit detection I have ever seen belongs to DICE Battlefield games. I still like to play Battlefield better because of the vehicles and overall experience, but IW/Treyarch put out much more polished products.

[QUOTE="Dice"]

Each of the Bonuses we've carefully selected represents one of the cornerstones of the Battlefield experience: Teamplay, Vehicles, and Veterans. We handpicked Specializations that enhance the abilities of Veterans and Newcomers alike. Let's explore the gameplay possibilities in the Limited Edition of Battlefield Bad Company 2.

The Vehicle Motion Sensor reveals the position of nearby enemies, allowing you to avoid driving into hidden ambushes. Rolling into a base in a vehicle equipped with the sensor will also report enemy positions on the minimap for nearby teammates! The Improved Vehicle Armor specialization upgrades the protective plating on all vehicles to give your vehicle that extra edge in heavy firefights. Additionally while many vehicle specializations only function for the driver of a vehicle, the Improved Vehicle Armor and Vehicle Motion Sensor specializations will function if they are equipped by any member of the vehicle crew. So even if you don't enjoy flying or driving, hopping into your friend's vehicle will still grant both you and your friend extra protection. Of course you also get to man the secondary guns to dish out your own firepower.

The Supreme Vehicle Firepower specialization greatly expands the types of targets tanks and helicopters can engage effectively. In Main Battle Tanks like the M1A2 and the T90 the Firepower specialization upgrades the vehicle with a coaxial machine gun to improve the MBT's anti-infantry abilities. The driver's position of the Mobile AA vehicle is also upgraded with a hull mounted machine gun to supplement the default 20mm automatic grenade launcher. For Light Tanks like the M3A3 or the BMD3 Supreme Vehicle Firepower allows the driver to fire TOW Guided Antiarmor missiles. Often the deciding factor in armor battles TOWs are also great for punching a hole in buildings before pumping 30mm chain gun rounds inside. Air vehicles are not left out of the mix, the Vehicle Firepower Package upgrades the gunner's position of the AH64 and the Mi28 with the same TOW Guided AntiArmor missile. Combined with the pilot's rockets this package can quickly eliminate enemy armor that threatens your teammates.

Featured both in the original Battlefield 1942 and it's spiritual successor Battlefield 1943 the M1911 Pistol and the M1A1 Submachine Gun are true Battlefield cl@sses. Though not as powerful as the Engineer's modern SMGs and Carbines the M1A1 SMG is unlockable for all 4 cl@sses on the Battlefield. The mobility granted by the M1A1 allows close range run and gun tactics, especially effective for members of a hard-hitting and fast-moving squad. Battlefield Veterans will also appreciate the stopping power of the .45 caliber M1911 Pistol. An American ****c, the M1911 is still favored by special forces units around the world almost 100 years after it's inception. Another sidearm the Tracer Dart Pistol can be equipped as a pistol, allowing all ****s to aid their Engineers in destroying enemy vehicles. When a Tracer Dart is placed on an enemy vehicle friendly RPGs can lock on and track those targets, letting your teammates engage armor safely from cover. It's a great aid to your team even for cl@sses like Assault or Medic who lack antivehicle arms.

We think this combination of Weapons and Specializations will provide all types of Battlefield fans with a worthy Day One Advantage. Whether you're a Tanker or a Pilot, a Teamplayer or a Lone Wolf, Assault, Recon, Engineer or Medic these tools will serve you well on the Battlefield of Bad Company 2.

Why this is going to be awesome!

Thats a lot to add into the limited edition. Its a wee bit unfair to everyone who plays the multiplayer but doesn't have the extra content.

Well those people will be able to unlock them after playing for a little while.

Both are great developers who make quality games but I'm going to have to go ahead and agree with your statement. I personally believe DICE has done a better job as of late of making quality games that are a bit innovative and push the genre forward.

CoD 4 was great with the stats, but DICE has been more innovative over the years with the Battlefield series. BF2 is still the golden standard for larger scale online combat.

I dont know why there's so much Bad Company hype as the first one was average at best. Battlefield 1943 also felt like a watered down console fps. The next great thing from DICE will be Battlefield 3. Period. I'll take Modern Warfare 2 over BC2

It was so obvious that BF BC was not trying to be Battlefield 2. They wanted a very arcady shooter that didn't take itself seriously, worked well on consoles, and was just full of action. They hit the nail on the head.

Battlefield 2 came out 5 years ago, it was one of the best shooters of all time, easily better than anything on consoles, including bad company.

Why this is going to be awesome!

Not gonna comment on the abilities these things grant you until I've played the game. But "awesome" is not the term I'd use to describe this situation. Maybe "unfair, ungratifying and worthless pre-order bonuses". They literally are multiplayer cheats, and they're advertising them as such. Not necessarily very impactful cheats, but still, for an unspecified amount of time, those who pre-order will be able to spot enemies through walls and whatnot, while others won't.

Infinity Ward may not be the most innovative developer but they always put out highly refined games that anyone can enjoy and the same simply cannot be said for DICE(Bad Company,Mirrors Edge, 2142, 1943)regardless of the few innovations they've made over the years.

If they believe Battlefield BC is of higher quality than Call of Duty 4. Well yes, i would say they are uninformed or uneducated. Because they definitely have not researched the scores/ sales of the game, which both directly relate to the overall quality of the game, wouldn't you say so?

[QUOTE="skrat_01"]See those unlocks and ranking systems that were in COD4, that every shooter has to have now? Battlefield 2 did it, as well as persistant stat tracking. Not forgetting squad and commander systems - having a payer heirarchy (that other multiplayer games have copied). Battlefield 1942 popularised and expanded the sandbox multiplayer shooter (especially with its conquest mode and huge variety of vehicles, and use of a class system) - from dice's previous title Codename Eagle.PSdual_wielder

its how things evolve my friend. its called adapting to a good idea and improving upon it thus making the new product much greater. only the strong survive and thats why the CoD series is dominating and the battlefield series and MoH series have either faded (like neanderthals) or are fadeing (like our ancestors)

The stat tracking remained the same for every game out there since BF2, so nothing was 'improved' in that category. And don't say the perks either because all of us here(well maybe except you) know that if anything it ruined the game due to the introduction of grenade spamming.

But yeah, kinda pointless trying to convince you anyway, you couldn't even say HOW CoD4 evolved the genre.

which is why they've taken out that x3 nade perk...

its how things evolve my friend. its called adapting to a good idea and improving upon it thus making the new product much greater. only the strong survive and thats why the CoD series is dominating and the battlefield series and MoH series have either faded (like neanderthals) or are fadeing (like our ancestors)

Have they taken out Martydrom? How about the MP5? Call of Duty is inbalanced as hell, always has been. That is a fact. I'm sure some nerd out there could give actual statisitics comparing different perks and their effectivness over others, as well as weapons. CoD4 didn't evolve anything, not even it's series.

ignorance (plural ignorances)

1. The condition of being uninformed or uneducated. Lacking knowledge or information.

So if someone likes BC better they are automatically uninformed or uneducated?

Verge_6

If they believe Battlefield BC is of higher quality than Call of Duty 4. Well yes, i would say they are uninformed or uneducated. Because they definitely have not researched the scores/ sales of the game, which both directly relate to the overall quality of the game, wouldn't you say so?

Yeah, score and sales are direct, indisputable correlations of quality. :|

...are you serious? I mean, really, are you?

wait a minute. so your saying the scores of a game. and the sales don't have anything to do with the quality? Because a quality game means a game is good and is recognized by the public eye as being good. If the reviews believe this game is good, they will give it a good score. if it gets a good score well... yes, the quality of a game directly relates to the scores of that game, which usually relate to the sales of that game.

So what you're saying is that we should all just follow the opinions of others? If you believe people who prefer battlefield over COD are ignorant because their opinions differ from yours, than you are the ignorant one.
