30fps is much more cinematic. I always found it funny how CoD is meant to be so cinematic, yet it looks like a soap opera because of that framerate (too fast and smooth, with zero motion blur).

"targetting" So they're saying they're nerfing the game so much just so it can run at 30FPS
PC version ftw :D
Ugh, I'd hate to play at 30 fps.. It's so much better at 60 fps. It makes a huge difference in BC2.DragonfireXZ95
No...no difference in 30 and 60...next argument please..

Yet there's a difference between 24fps and 30fps? :? Not only can you see a difference between 30fps and 60fps, and can also feel a difference, and it's a wide chasm of a difference.

There is big difference even when using my 360 controller m/kb being as sensitive an input device as it is benefits from even higher framerates for the most repsonsive and smoothest controls possible.[QUOTE="HaloinventedFPS"]
this is why COD wins on consoles
60fps, sorry dice, BF3 is not going to touch MW3
DragonfireXZ95
I already said this in another thread regarding BF3. If you're playing on a console...
Well, if they want to challenge COD, they have to make the game playable on consoles too. But I'm afraid that no matter what they do, they'll never achieve that.

Yea there is a difference, sorry.30 FPS on console isn't that bad, the controller has enough lag to it that FPS lag is less noticeable.
Under 40 fps on PC I notice it, but console will be fine.

60fps is overated
Wasdie
Not on the PC. Playing any thing less than 50-60, there is a noticeable sluggish feel.
On a controller, a steady 30fps feels smooth.
PC gamers act like they all run everything at max above 60fps but the reality is quite different. I've been reading up on hardware because I'm looking to get a gaming PC and I see that lots of set ups run games like Crysis well below 60fps.Still...NO...not a real difference in 30 and 60 and if it matters how you play your game you need to move on to something else..maybe some Galaga or Asteroids..DUH...WINNING!!

Options are good right? If I have the $ for epic hardware, and someone else doesn't, in your mind that is wrong?

lol I'm probly go SLI so my fps will be through the roof. the point im trying to make is that when BF3 comes out a lot of rigs out there will have to sacrifice things just to get that 30fps without even getting near the 60fps sweetspot. if you got the cash to get a top of the line rig that's fine, it's not wrong by any means. but lets not pretend that every PC out there will be playing BF3 at 60fps because they won't.[QUOTE="haberman13"][QUOTE="CwlHeddwyn"] PC gamers act like they all run everything at max above 60fps but the reality is quite different. All PC gamers understand that hardware == performance; honestly that is something the consolers seem to not understand.
You seem to be arguing for "socialist gaming" whereby you feel mad that someone might be able to run at 60fps while others can't.
Again - options are good. In the console world options == bad - when you switch to PC you'll figure that out pretty quickly.

And still there is a massive difference between in 30 and 60. In fact it is so massive that is not even worth to play BF on consoles, I mean who want to play with 720p, 30fps, low-medium settings, less players, etc.
Lol @ all the elitists. Bf3 will play just fine at 30fps. I'll probably get it on 360 just because I prefer triggers and force-feedback over eye candy. How many hermits actually chose 60fps in Crysis over better gfx anyway?

Sure, but there would be obvious drawbacks to that in mp. Maybe they'll let me buy the SP on pc and the mp on console?
Well a lot of PC gamers are going to play it in 30fps also, especially if they want the eye candy.GeneralShowzerThank god I'm upgrading to try to get 60FPS.

I think its common knowledge thanks to steam surveys that most pc gamers aren't elitists the need $500 gpus to have fun in a game. That's all I'm trying to say in this thread. Some people have serious cases of big truck syndrome.(not aimed at you).
every shooter other than cod is 30 fps. so i dont know what the big deal is. this is also one of the reason people love cod on consoles.
Does frame rate actually affect input lag lag and controls? I don't see how that works. I've heard some CoD fans say that but I think it is because they are used to playing FPS games as a floating gun rather than having any sense of weight
BPoole96
If the game's renderering at twice the speed, the input registering will be twice as accurate. You can feel a huge difference between 30fps vs 60fps, aswell as seeing a huge difference.

How many PC games do you play? Because I notice a difference in all of them. I play BC2 on 360 in 30FPS and PC at 60FPS and it's so smooth on PC it's unreal.I think 30 FPS for a game like battlefield will be fine, but you do always want at least 60 FPS is a FPS for less input lag. I have played BC2 on the 360 and the frame rate didnt bothered me at all. Having played Blackops on the PS3 I"ll tell you the frame rate is more important in that game, as I found the game to be almost unplayable. The whole time the frame rate bothered me it felt like it was running at 45 fps, and everything just felt jerky. I think COD benefits more from the 60 FPS as its a twitchy fast paced shooter.

Looking at your sig's specs. you just prove my point really. you and a few others. a game built for DX 10/11 suppose to be the most graphically advanced game out there with insane physics, to top it off it sa 64 multiplayer game. This will NOT run at 60 FPS constantly at any decent specs. Not on the PC. Playing any thing less than 50-60, there is a noticeable sluggish feel.
