I wouldn't say that the ps3 won this year, but it definitely shocked alot of nay-sayers about the ps3 this year, for a PSN exclusive game to get the GOTY award from GS this year. Fanboys are over-hyping the ps3, and haters are bashing the ps3 WAY too much and too hard. While most pf the ps3 exclusives aren't really "standard setting" that released this year, they, however, are some really great games, if people just play them. TM's online was a mess at release, and while it's not perfect, it's definitely playable now, and PSASBR isn't as good as SSBB, but it still managed to find a place in the gaming community, in which is extremely difficult for a game that have a "copy n paste" presentation.

Even though I think that Sony did have a very traditional year with their Playstation 3 Computer Entertainment System, I'd say that Nintendo won the year over by really grabbing the interest of both the traditional gamers and newer gamers and really providing a seamless and rich experience that can satisfy both gamers alike.
