I didn't get far into it. Maybe a 1/4 way through it was boring for me. I am going to go back and play it some more, but only when I don't have other stuff to play. Plus you claimed they rekt me and they rekt nothing. :P hahaha!

I disagree. The X1X could easily field higher resolutions and fidelity, but this is a pretty distinctive technical effort. Hypothetically, if you took the same game and put it on the X1X, you could push it even farther. But since that won't happen, it's up to other groups to develop a technical masterpiece that "stomps all over it" - and I don't think that's easy to do at all. That takes a very good engine and very concerted effort from very talented artists. Very possible, but I don't think very likely

@xhawk27: I don't know - I've never even played the first one (hangs head in shame), so I haven't followed it closely. But I will happily commit to saying I'm skeptical - it's a 3rd party title that's being built to run on a variety of machines. It also uses a different engine, so it's hard for me to predict, as an outsider. One of many considerations that come to mind: when guerilla develops HZD Frozen Wild for PS4, they know exactly how many polygons, particle effects, reflections, shadows, independent AI, etc can operate on the screen at a given moment to hit roughly solid 30fps. Rockstar has this ability, but not necessarily the luxury since they are building models and graphical profiles to function well enough that the engine can handle the rest of the problem of scaling down to base X1 and even low end PC - and we (or I at least) don't know if the engine is as sophisticated.

Personally, I'm kind of a nut for machines being pushed to their limit - I love tuning my 2-strokes and the like. I'd get a real kick out of seeing the X1X being pushed to its very limits, and certainly am not wishing it won't surpass HZD. My point is just that... there's a really remarkable level of craftsmanship and optimization here. Others will have to work to surpass it, regardless of whether the X1X has appreciably more horsepower.

It "could" but remember HZD is also open world and will probably still be more technically impressive...then again even if it does come out an impress it's not like Halo 6 would have a free ride when ever it comes to the argument of best graphics against PS4's AAA titles.

In 2018 there's Spiderman, God of War 4, Days Gone, Detrit : Become Human just off the top of my head. Then there are others that will come out later possibly 2019 like Death Stranding (made in GG fabulous Decima engine), The Last of Us 2 maybe Final Fantasy 7 ect

The problem with Xbox One X is MS can only offer a possible contender in the argument for best upcoming console graphics, Sony on the other hand not only have the current champ, they also have the rest of the competing competition.

Really though it's going to take a lot to best HZD in the area of impressive graphics and raw power and resolutions boosts alone aren't going to cut it. You're really underselling the achievement GG has done if you think 343 can top it so easily.

This happens to me ALL the time. Not just games with DLC that I haven't played in a while, games I put aside because something else came along. Sometimes I get really far into games then jump into something else and when I go back I have no clue at all what I'm doing lol.

Yeah could be, sexing a female character up is too easy, a bit of cleavage there, short skirt here, tight pants burrowed between ass cheeks. It doesn't even have to make sense why the main character would be so "hot" in games. Quite obvious they wanted to avoid all that. I was fine with the character design from the start, but the gameplay lacks.

Dude, I personally don't see how Aloy is ugly in any ways? I think she's cool looking and I understand everyone has there standards when it comes to beauty of a woman, but Aloy never gave me the troubles at all. Like Epak said, if they tried to make her have big breast or whatnot, she would've been label as a Feminist.

Sorry Xantufrog, I think Aloy looks cool and has a nice personality adding to the game overall.

She isn't really pretty...but to me that's one of the more interesting aspects of the game.

GG went against the grain and developed a NON sexy female lead as their main protagonist in their biggest most daring NEW IP project to date and relied entirely on the characters back story to drive the narrative and players interest.

This could have ended in disaster with GG entering a entirely new genre in an open world no less and to top it off going with a female protagonist and she ain't even "sexy" lol.

The fact that she's not all super sexy actually helps the believability of the plot in the story. IMO the game is a lot more interesting because you have to focus on the story rather than have a distraction of tits and ass thrown at you because the game is too weak to stand on it's own.

but I will not turn down looking at nice pics of B2's ass from Nier Automata.

A female character can be female without being overly sexualised, shocking I know! I don't know if you have noticed or not but women are distinctly different from men. Alloy is a character made by a man wanting to appease a minority of feminists who want women to be men. They can easily have all the characteristics of a great, enjoyable character without being manly and that doesn't come down the clothing they are wearing.

I think Halo 6 is a pretty safe bet to look better than anything on Pro...

You're still pitting the talents of 343 against GG. GG is has a history of producing shockingly impressive graphical games...343 has, some powerful hardware to work with.

lol there is no "safe bet" Halo 6 looks better than HZD, it will have to do alot more than put out some shinny textures and have high resolution to best HZD in the area of graphics. The world of Horizon Zero Dawn is nothing short of incredible. It's clear the xbox fans who make these comments have never played the game and have no idea what they're saying when they say "Halo 6 will crush HZD in graphics" just mindless babbling at this point.

The possibility becomes even more slim when you consider the fact that the game has to be tied to Xbox one and won't be X exclusive.

If it was all about resolution and highest textures possible then DF would be saying Assassins Creed Origin was the most impressive open world game they've seen so far this year due to PC max settings....

.... We've seen a lot of large, open-ended games this year but it's clear that Guerrilla Games stands at the top of the industry with its efforts....

...the quality of these visuals and the solidity of the presentation is unparalleled. For us, Horizon Zero Dawn is an essential release - and The Frozen Wilds genuinely adds further to the experience.
