i played the dirt demo it had no damage physics were gay and graphics were good, but i also played motorstorm and i think motorstor is better in everyway, especially physics and car damage and graphics so motorstorm >>>> Dirt.xjet039

just finished playing the demo, and it is by far the best racer this gen. Great music, the menu is very sleek and stylish, and the graphics are absolutely amazing. The gameplay is a perfect belnd of arcade and sim, and the interior view looks stunning. June 19 andanother AAA.

Dirt is more like a off-road sim game. Motormstorm is more like a graphical acade game.

Let's see, DiRT is out after Motorstorm. Motorstorm is an arcade off-road racer while DiRT is a Rally sim. They're completely different. Also, DiRT is multiplatform so to all you lemmings, you need to knock it off that you think you're superior.. jeez play the games :roll:

I tried demo on PC and it got some nice damage and physics, but not as good as motorstorm. Im starting to think all of the people saying its better than motorstorm are people who never even touched a PS3 controller.

Yeah... I'm pretty sure you never played DiRT. The game definately had damage, graphics were excellent, and physics being gay I'm pretty sure physics cannot be gay Try actually playing the game, then going back to school to learn basic Physics.

Actually this game is as arcade as it gets because the physics were way off from anything ud expect in the real world. THe physics let u do unrealistic things but then again this isnt a simulator so the physics arnt the most important thing. Damage was there but motorstorm just based on the demo was better but not by much.

WOw in no way is this game a sim. If u actually took high school physics U would even know that. THis game is pure arcade because many of the stops are just unrealistic and dont follow many of the rules of gravity and momentum. I was  able to stop my car on dirt in under 2 seconds. NOt realistic in the real world. Damage is good but then again its not motorstorm so people should stop comparing.

I haven't spent a lot of time with Dirt yet, played it at my cousin's though... I think it's definitely a good game and I'll probably pick it up. The graphics are sweet. But the gameplay still isn't as good as Motorstorm's, even my cuz agrees and he's still holding out on buying a PS3 until Lair releases... so he's not really biased one way or the other.

But either way, I don't think Dirt sucks or is gay just doesn't offer the same gameplay experience is all.

You do know that each firmware update, game, and familiarity of devs with the PS3 tools takes time right? So, a month is a measurement we use. Declining sales? Hmmm, so what you are saying is that each month the PS3 will drop to lower and lower sales from here on out? Are you really saying that? Come on now. Don't put your foot in your mouth.

Stronger means, larger library, firmware update to the XMB, and future HOME on-line. That add value and sales. Then, when a price cut comes later. That attracts more sales.

By the way, the 360 declined in sales too...does that mean they are doomed too?

Yeah. The thing about the Dirt demo is that they like to reset you everytime you are about to do a nice crash off the clif. I WANT TO SEE CRASHES. Crashes are the reason why half the racing games we play are fun. Motorstorm is better. Or at least the motorstorm demo is better than the dirt demo.Japanese_Monk

There are some areas in the demo where you can drive off a cliff and crash/roll etc. without reseting the car.(unless you end up upsidedown :P)

You need to drive the wrong way, then go off a cliff onto the track below(hairpin areas), you can flip the car, tear off all the doors and roll several times. Looks great, lots of debris and such.

and the windows shattered to reveal a very detailed driver inside.

This is DiRT > Motorstorm which having played both i'd agree with. Comparable graphics (I like DiRT a hair bit more due to all the camera angles) but DiRT is going to be more than half a game which is what Motorstorm is. And I like Motorstorm's gameplay alot.

After witnessing more than a few spectacular crashes during our demo, we can vouch for the fact that they sustain damage that's at least as realistic as anything that we've seen previously. Damage in DIRT will invariably have an adverse effect on your vehicle's handling, and if you crash once too often or manage to wrap your car around a tree (yes, that will be possible), your race may end prematurely. We're told that even the detailed car interiors will deteriorate quite noticeably after collisions, but we didn't get to see any busted speedometers for ourselves on this occasion.

Well people compare PGR3 & Forza 2 which are on the same system.. So why not Dirt and Motorstorm

Tried the Dirt PC demo and it's allright, but nothing special, really. I'm affraid that I've been spoiled with the realism of Richard Burns Rally, GTR and Live for Speed.

Graphcs are cool (yeah, I played it on ultra details), but I expected more physics stuff etc.

Its an arcade racer for sure, no denying that. It is fun though, the damage is nice, specially the environmental damage, but WHY IS THERE SO MUCH BLOOM!!! its sucks. anyway apart from the crap physics its fun.
