I will get it next year since i tend to get addicted to Disgaea:P

weirdest thing: I love prinnie 1 and 2 and the graphics doesn't bother me one bit, I even love final fantasy tactics, but I can't stomach disgaea look at all
Eventually. I always wanted to play the Disgaea games they look interesting from any other RPG I have played.
Personally I think Makai Kingdom is the best "Jumping off" point to get into the Disgaea universe (Even thought it's not set exactly in it). But Zeta...no one should not know his name.Eventually. I always wanted to play the Disgaea games they look interesting from any other RPG I have played.

The only thing I'm concerned about is that these new HD sprites seem to be a little less "animated" than the rest of the series. But maybe I'me wrong.
Other than that complaint, absolutely I'll be getting it.
do you even have a ps3 lol.Not likely I'm much more interested in other things out of japan *namely xenoblade..etc* and I've played disgaea 1 and 2 dont really need to play the same exact scenarios, gameplay and such.
Sjrpg are one genre that sorely needs to evolve.

Regardless of how it's recepted in System Wars it's a day one buy for me, The disgea series always gives great bang for you buck.Jynxzor
Exactly, glad you like it, i know this will be lots of fun

Great :). cya online!
Depending on how Disgaea 4 feels. I don't want to pay full price for a rush job like several other jrpgs this generation (Disgaea 3, Cross Edge, the System Wars thingy and the rest, ewww).
Maybe I'll buy it when it's a lot cheaper. There's a whole bunch of games this year that I want to play. Xenoblade and Catherine being the top 2 on my list I want to play.
I have no idea what the hell Disgaea is, I hear it's some kind of strategy game which sounds cool. But the way it looks turns me off....
Fisrt off it looks like one of those bad Japanese cartoons that is intended for little kids. Also the graphics look like they could have been made on PS1.
I also don't like the charecter designs, especially on the girls. Only some lonely loser would draw half naked cartoon girls, and what's even worse is that some of the girls look like kids! Seriously isn't that illegal or something? Why would anyone buy this?
ShadowMoses900
I understand and agree with all your complaints, and those same issues annoy me in a lot of Japanese titles. It's like they have an obsession with little girls in no clothing or something.
That being said, Disgaea is great, and the story isn't hard to follow, it's just very ridiculous, and benefits from it. For the most part I just ignore the parts you've mentioned and focus on "who" the characters actually are, as opposed to how they look.
It doesn't help that Laharl is a don, either.
I haven't started the series, I plan to as well as start other NIS games (like ZHP) but I think I'm just going to wait for the inevitable upgraded Vita port. All the DLC and new stuff for D3 Returns sounds great. And I play on handhelds way more than my home consoles so it just makes sense to wait.
[QUOTE="millerlight89"]Must be slow at Amazon.JynxzorCorrection: It must be awesome at Amazon. Lol, I'm just messing. I haven't ever heard of these games though. Are they pretty awesome?

disgaea series is known for being one of the best strategy role playing games out there, if you wan a truly fun stradegy game then disgaea is your best choice. their very good games and this 4th one has some great improvments over all the past disgaea games. note it wont be easy
I might actually get this.
brennanhuff
You sure wont regret it, this game looks to be amazingly fun and funny
number 1 best seller on amazon.ca...On Amazon.com the one that actually matters it doesn't even appear on the top 100.

I live in Canada which means .ca > .com ;).. isnt that how SW work?
also those in USA usually order from NISA themselvs as they get free shipping unlike Canada
This game looks great. I love some srpg goodness.kuraimen
Welcome to the Disgaea club :D. hope you'll get it and enjoy it :)
I might buy this I really like the Fire Emblem games and this is in the same genre.
Nintendo_Ownes7
I don't think Disgaea is essentially good for it's "strategy" gameplay as much as other things. For strategy, try Valkyria Chronicles. :P
Have you ever played Disgaea? If you did, you would have never said that, Disgaea is not the best example of a SRPG.I might buy this I really like the Fire Emblem games and this is in the same genre.

It sure is to me after Valkyria chronicles.. Valkyria is number 1 then disgaea comes in. Disgaea is epic tho in terms of comedy and humor
My fellow disgaea fans, I must warn you that only nisa store and gamestop will have the fallen angel flonne dlc. Amazon will NOT have the pre order bonus. Be wary where you buy it from.Capitan_Kid
yea i know i missed on the DLC but its no big deal, knowing nisa they will have it on PSN store for like $.49

O rly? I was thinking the same think as him. I really like Turn Based Strategy/SRPG, but I only really played the Fire Emblem games, Advanced Wars, Final Fantasy Tactics, and Valkyria Chronicles. I always knew about Disgaea, but never gave it a try.
Disgaea looks like a SRPG to me lol. But I never played it so IDK.
The Disgaea games are great games, they're just not challenging strategy games. That's not what they're made to be. They're about building your characters, armies, equipment, etc. They're about providing tons of content.
It is, and a damn good one imo.[QUOTE="cloudff7tm"]

Its not valkyria thats for sure, Disgaea with its humor and weird story makes it amazingly fun thats and leveling up your characters might be time consuming but makes u feel truly great once you beat a 99 lvl boss :P. i cant believe i had a character with over level 400 on disgaea 3 :?. used to play nothing but disgaea 3.

Disgaea is ok, but its not hard and it doesn't really show strategy like the other games you mentioned. They might have added things over the years to make it play out more like that but you can pretty much get through the main story without it. And before anyone brings in the trophies, I didn't do them because I don't care for them.[QUOTE="cloudff7tm"][QUOTE="ShuichiChamp24"] Have you ever played Disgaea? Fire Emblem is superior in difficulty and characters, but Disgaea has the comedy.Does anybody know the release date in Europe? The only thing I can find is that it's released on 6 September in the US, and Q3 in Europe.Loegi
Dont know, maybe October
