Do 360 owners WANT the PS3 to fail?????

Is it me or does it seem like 360 owners really Want the ps3 to fail. i own both systems and i dont want either to fail, most gamers act as if you have to pick a side in this "console war".... I actually was on a forum yesterday a saw a guy saying uncharted looked like crap!!!! No one in their right mind can tell me that with a straight face...But he represents a whole bunch of people who talk about something that they know nothing about... You dont see as many ps3 owners bashing the 360 on forums when as an owner of one i know things that can be said about the 360 that aren't so good... Its not MS fought but it makes me spend most of my time defending the PS3 when i shouldn't have to... Like the gut stated above 360 didn't have the best launch either...If not for NBA 2k6 i would have been playing GUN or Perfect Dark Zero for two months. An remember 360 didn't have ay competition at the time... PS3 iw going to be fine if not better than the 360 in a year...I can give you ten or more reasons why... Lair ,Heavenly sword, MGS4, GT5, Tekken 6, Warhawk, Uncharted, Killzone 2, FF13, Next Gen Socom, NGS, not to mention multi platform games PS3 owners will have to play like Graw 2, GTA4, RBW 6 Vegas, Stranglehold, ect. ect.

Throw in the edition of the PS Home and you have a wonderful system!!!!!!!

Here's the thing for the TC, it's not Owners that want it to fail it is fanboys. Saying owners assumes anyone who buys one wants it to fail which is ridiculous. Obviously fanboys want it to fail, that's what a fanboy is all about, hatred and blind support for their own console / system

yes becuase that means all of ps3s 3rd party exclusives would come to 360.

No becuase sony's first party games are great and  there is a possibilty that they may not go 3rd party if ps3 fails. Also becuase competition is good for the industry.

Yeah competition is good for business.

I recall when the WWE (or WWF at the time) bought the WCW and I guess took over everything with the ECW too, it ruined business and everything took a nose dive. I have stopped watching since.

Heres an owner that does want Sony to fail. Why? Because that would leave the door wide open for Sega to return and reclaim their rightful throne competing head to head with Nintendo (or leave the door open for Apple [shudder]). Sega would focus on games, not pushing needless non-gaming related technology (not to mention not charge $600). Once that happens I'll want Microsft to fail....if I still have energy....but I probably won't...cause seeing Sega back would make me too happy to care...

Competition FTW.

Having Sony without MS or Nintendo or any other scenario is bad for everyone.  What would really be even better is if some other form of home entertainment would also crop up to provide competition to the games industry in general.  They would be forced to make the games even more immersive.

yea WWE went completely downhill from there...and likewise i have not watched nearly as much since that happened  

I don't want Sony to fail particularly. I want them to get some humble pie. If failing this gen will do it, then I'll be satisfied. If they get humility another way, I'll be happy as well. I was quite glad when Nintendo lost with the N64, even though I really loved that system.

Fair enough, but from my experience I'd say the fanboy population is fairly evenly divided.  You don't see many cows on right now because of the recent sales charts and the subsequent internet assplosion.  But believe me, they're here, and they can be very, very loud.

Both Cows and Lemmings go to war with each other heavily. Trying to say one does more then another is just apples and oranges. Unless you have done some kind of count of who bashes who more throughout the history of SW there's no point in thinking one does more then another. Fanboys are fanboys and you act as if Lemmings are the worst or different. All fanboys do the same things and are the same way.

And ur thread title also makes it sound like all 360 owners are fanboys and want a system to fail which is bias.

I own both systems. I don't want Sony to fail cause I like MS better or something. I want them to fail cause their system was a rip-off and has been nothing but empty-promises and delays. X360? What they say is pretty much what you get...so kuddos to them for that.

im a ps3 owner and at this point i kinda want it to fail, lol. no games + long wait = pissed consumer.

No I do not want the PS3 to fail, but Sony needs to learn a lesson, their domination of the last 2 generations has created the type of arrogance where they think a $600 console is going to sell...nope..this industry does not need those kind of prices. Personally I want all 3 players (Sony, Ms, and Ninty) to share the pie equally, its best for all gamers this way.Danthegamingman

Seems like I'm seeing alot of posts like this where they say they dont want it to fail, then bash it  like they do. Everyone ehre keeps trying to justify their hate towards the system and reword it into something else. I know that not every 360 own wants it to fail but I would say that most of the ones I see on this forum do as well as many of the haters I meet on teh street.. I as an owner of both dont want either to fail but I do want a reason for owning both of the big ones (no wii) and I feel that the two companies have delivered and I will be happy with both systems. On top of the games I really like some of those exatra features I have on my PS3 like the easier to use slideshow features it provides as well as the blue ray. I believe that a larger format is good for games (not just blue ray itself) and I rent HD movies from netflix to get full use out of my hdtv.

Basically I think no one has the right to hate on either system and should just be happy for what the other systems have. SAdly this will never happen 

The only justifiable reason I could possibly come up with for wanting the PS3 to "fail" would be the likely repercussions if it were a smashing success.  If the PS3 comes out on top, then I don't think MS or Nintendo would have any qualms or reservations about releasing a $600+ console next gen, and Sony... maybe $800 next time?  Why not, it worked before...

I don't want to be priced out of this hobby. 

I have no problems saying I want the PS3 to fail. I do not want Sony as a company to fail just the PS3. I do not think PS3 will be canceled but I would like to see them come last.

1- $600 system is just to much. I would hate to see if they won then every system will be at least $500 including Nintendos

2- Comments like calling Americans cheap,or people should work harder to buy their system, or PS3 would sell with no games( that is cocky and as we can see just wrong), and other statements like these from Sony.

3-The trojan horse Blu-Ray it is just to help out other areas of Sony. Meanwhile PS3 users still believe when Sony says it is needed for gameing and not just to push the Blu-ray movie discs.

4-How Sony has lied many times for example saying Killzone was all gameplay when it was ofcourse CG.

Sony did not invent gaming even though cows like to act like they did. Nintendo has been doing this far longer. If any of the 3 main systems left gaming another would take its place. Apple igame or maybe Sega or Atari would have another try at it. Heck maybe Gateway or Dell would try a console.

Have you been paying attention to System Wars? Xbox fanboys lie in bed awake at night praying to Bill Gates in hopes that both Sony and Nintendo will go out of business.
Then they wake up, google for any negative news about Sony, and come post it here.Dire_Weasel

I want the PS3 to fail, but my 360 has nothing to do with that desire.

I want it to fail because:

1.  I don't want the industry to think that trojaning an agenda apart from videogames e.g. a movie format at the expense of the gamer is a good idea.

 2.  I don't want future console makers to be rewarded for smoke and mirrors marketing, CGI and flat-out lies.

3.  I don't want future videogame CEO's to be complete lunatics.

4.  I don't want future videogame consoles to think that gamers will pay any price for their machines.

5.  I don't want future videogame makers to continue to make the process of game development a difficult one.

Basically, the vast majority of the decisions that Sony made with this console were not good for the gamer or the industry.  It's lackluster sales, mass exodus of exclusives and it's overall tipping on the edge of failure is a great message to the future Sony consoles, the future MS consoles, Nintendo and whoever else jumps in this ring.

If the PS3's failure continues, we can hope to see a gaming future where they listen more to what the gamer wants instead of telling them what they want.  We will see console makers focus on VIDEOGAMING and not movies.  We will see companies realize that price DOES matter.  We will see console makers use proven technology.  We will see console makers that develop with the developer in mind.

If the PS3 succeeds then I hate to see the lessons learned by the industry if Sony's horrible decisions were rewarded.

I have my beef with Microsoft too, mostly in their quality department, however, they made decisions that were ultimately good for gaming and the gamer while Nintendo has cleverly discovered a way to expand an already huge market to non-gamers.

naw...he's just bitter the ps3 is getting killed by the 360 after all his promises of how the ps3 would crush the 360...:roll:

it never occurred to him that the bad ps3 news wouldn't be so easy to find if there wasn't so much bad news with the ps3...;)

but there is nothign but bad news for the ps3 and here we are...

payback can be painful for some...:D
