Poll Do Crytek deserve to die (99 votes)

Yes 37%
No 63%

Crytek went from creating graphical powerhouses that pushed graphics (Farcry/Crysis) with open ended sandbox game-play encouraging players to be creative. But then, with Crysis 2, betrayed pc gamers. Removing the large environments for tight Call of Duty corridors. Removing lean, prone and multiple powers to "streamline" it because it "made sense". i.e. because of consoles

Then, a step further, Rinse An Xbox One Exclusive and a "movie" game. With barely any game play and micro-transactions. A huge critical and commercial flop with a canned sequel.

For me personally, at this very moment, as I type this, in a room, with keyboard, my attitude is "**** em".

How about you, the fellows? Do Crytek deserve to die with a whimper?

Thats MS as a whole, the XBox clan aren't going to have exclusive assess to all of that.

Umm... that not really how it works. If the Xbox division decides that it is a smart business move to buy Crytek, they make the proposal to the board and they vote on it. They are all the same company

And then Satya looks Phil in the eye and says "You want us to buy a development house with an unpopular engine and eight studios that haven't produced a well-recieved game since 2007? I think you should consider your position on the Board, Mr Spencer."

You know what is the problem with crytek? Nothing the problem is their boss who contradicsts himself and makes nonsense anouncements all the time.

Like how crysis didnt sell well and thats why they gone to consoles while it did meet their expectasions yet they wanted more. He said that a console will make 5 times more sales, but it DIDNT and they end up looking like idiots again, they spend all their money enlisting new talent, opening new studios and saying that crysis 3 is their jewel and their big game but it was the shortest one and weaker of the 3 and now their fiancials are a mess.

If crytek stopped being so full of themselfs and their delussions of greatness and just make a good game, they will be fine, but nooo they had to be as big as epic games and sell their engine and become the new hit franchise, well it didnt happen, can they go back at making games now?

Atleast they seem to be going the right direction with homefront 2, i was afraid they gonna make a cod ripoff.

They haven't done anything wrong or bad imo so I disagree. I think they should go the epic route and really focus on CryEngine and every few years putting out a game that shows why CryEngine is insane and the best. If some publisher or platform holder buys them, I think Crytek will pretty much never make a game again, CryEngine will be the only engine used for first party games (I've no issue with this), and Crytek will solely be about improving the engine and offering tech support to other internal studios.
