Do people still doubt that 2008 is PS3's year?

Honestly, to the mods, this topic isn't to 'disrupt' anything or whatever, this is just a normal discussion about the caliber of games PS3 and 360 have had this year, and comparing them to find out who 'won', that's it.

With that being said a lot of people kept saying this isn't PS3's year, but I'm asking, do people still deny that now somehow?

Here's the comparison, i'm not going to mention which games 'flopped' or not, i'll just list the scores. If i'm wrong someone correct me thanks.

PS3 has: (i'm talking about exclusives by the way for both systems)
AAAA - 1: MGS4
AAA - 1: Little Big Planet (with potentially one more if Resistance 2 gets a 9)
AA - 1: Motorstorm 2 (MLB 08 not exclusive) (Naruto and Valkyria Chronicles also AA possibilities, scores pending)
A - 1: Siren, GT: Prologue, Hot Shots Golf
Less then A - 1: Socom: Confrontation

360 has:
AAAA - 0
AAA - 1: Gears 2 (with potentially one more if Banjo gets a 9)
AA - 4: Tales of Vesperia, Ninja Gaiden 2, Viva Pinata 2, Fable 2
A - 1: Lost Odyssey
Less then A - 2: Too Human, Infinite Undiscovery

Can we finally agree that PS3 wins 2008?

its common sense to accept that the ps3 has taken this year. with resistence 2 still to come out to add to the great library of this year its inevitable.

but the xbox360 does have fable 2 and gears 2 which i think are looking like great games

Yes, makes sense. The 2007 was the 360's year because it had the most AAAE's. 2008 is the PS3's year because it has the most AAAE+'s. So far anyway, but I don't see that changing.

It's completely fair, each console has a "Year". We're using GS's scores here so I don't want to see any arguing. But there will be....

It's not a PSN game everywhere. There's a blu ray disc format in Japan and I believe Europe? Though I believe you're just going to argue that because "it's not in America" fact, so whatever.

PS3 done extremly well in 2008 and outselled the 360 for most of the year.

However the PS3 still lacks RPGssss!!!

Without JRPGs you can't take over japan!

Hopfully in the next year ps3 will gain what it didn't in the past 2 years.

No. GameSpot scores mean nothing to me.

2 of those are racing games. I don't typically like racing games (plus one is a demo of a racing game).

Paying for XBL is less than the price of buying a game every year for a service that I've been happy with. Nothing to complain about there.

If you can't see that the lineup for 360/PS3 is close then you're the one that needs to get out of denial mode.

Personal preference puts Gears of War 2 > All.

So, for me PS3 hasn't won anything. They do have a chance if Slant Six adds in the party system and fixes all these technical issues with SOCOM, however, judging by how things have gone, it won't happen.

It may be fact that GS has rated PS3 exclusives higher, but who cares? It's GS. Let's form our own opinions and have a real debate instead of being told what to think of the game and pull the rating card.

I've never said they are exclusives. What I say is that this year the 360 could have a better lineup thatn the PS3, even if it has less exclusives.

But that's what's wrong with System Wars. Instead of actually playing the games ourselves and forming our own opinions, we just religiously follow these scores that don't necessarily reflect how good the game is for you.

Doesn't matter by how much you win winning is winning. You're right that 360 isn't too far behind PS3, but PS3 is still ahead, meaning 2008 is PS3's year.

What? The PS3 is doing better than the 360 in Japan. They have a ton of RPGs over there, most of are based on anime. Which is why we never get any of them.

I kind of agree here in regards to comparison threads.

If we are just comparing two different consoles, we shouldn't bring in anything else. The thing that matters is if console A has a game that console B doesn't have.

I don't think that the PS3 blows away the 360 lineup like you seem to think it does. But one quick question: how is MLB 08 for the PS3 not an exclusive?

It is pointless to get into these threads, Seems each person, ecspecially when they only have one console, has different ideas on what the "Year of" title includes. As stated, I belive it is how well the console is doing I.E Install Base, Games Sales, etc Not sure on the numbers at the moment,

Either way, my point is, If you do not have all 3 consoles (well at least 2) you should prolly take the head out of rear end, and admit you do not have a very usefull opinion on such things.
