I completely agree with you. 360's games are far from crap but I think this is PS3's year based on Gamespots scores thats all.If you like 360's games better, and you think 360 won this year, theres NOTHING wrong with that at all. But i'm going by gamespot scores right now and arguing that PS3 has more higher scored exclusives.

All of a sudden when Lemmings get the heat to their back they go crazy, but they loved 2007 when they were on top.

Lemmings need to accept that Microsoft can't win every year, and they didn't win 2008, suck it up and move on.

1. You forgot to mention Tekken. Meaning you dislike RPG's, Stealth games, Racing, AND Fighting games. If you dislike all 4 of those genre's gaming isn't for you.angry_fork

I dislike MGS with passion, I played and finished first two,mind you. I strongly dislike Final Fantasy as well, and I played several FF titles, including NES and SNES ones, yet I love stealth games and RPGs. Regarding GT, I loved 1 and 2 on PS1, but now I can live without that and any nostalgia with Forza Motorsport.

Gamespot rules only state that games on even one other platform (e.g. ME, NGS) can't be called exclusive. WHERE IN THE RULES has it been stated that a strict code of silence must be observed on any game that is on one platform but not another? No where. Ever.

I don't think that lems NEED to feel better about themselves. They are clearly just frustrated that you are trying to create a nonsensically constraining set of rules and conditions in your thread (a sort of bubble universe where the PS3 can't help but beat the 360) to make YOURSELF feel better. It seems like you're a reasonable person, and this may not be your motivation, but these are not reasonable or realistic preconditions.

If the number of AAAE determine who gets this "console of the year" award then fine, but that's a pretty weak award. There are other things to consider besides the number of AAAE/AAAAE for a given console that should be considered, overall sales being one of them.

But it's an unofficial award anyway that is likely being argued for to allow PS3 owners to sleep well at night as they still feel compelled to defend their console against the 360.

If we're JUST talking scores, and opinions are left out, then when you cut out all the crap, what this really boils down to is this: Considering the 3 extra AAs and a handful of extra below As, as well as the "not for PS3" games which still count as SOMETHING despite your protests (though God only knows how much), do these games outweigh MGS4 or not? This is simply not quantifiable. Opinion always enters into it, and that doesn't even bring in the fact that those scores were the opinions of SOMEONE in the first place, so quite frankly trying to remove opinion and just talk scores creates a time/space/logic paradox that could very well end life as we know it, and at the least will certainly make the baby Jesus cry.

The simple fact is if it comes out for the PC I buy it for that platform over the other two because the games ALWAYS look the best on PC and I prefer the controls.

I DID buy Fable 2 for the 360 because I couldn't wait for it to come out on the PC. However, I bought Far Cry 2 AND Fallout 3 for the PC because they are far superior to both the 360 and PS3 versions.

I personally think the 360 has the better games. 1 overhyped AAAE game does not make it a better year. The 360 still has more good games.

Gears 2, Fable 2, Banjo, Left4Dead, Tales, NG2>MGSIV, LBP, REsistance 2 ad Motorstorm any day of the week imo, plus all the great live arcade games. Because that is really what it comes down to.

Honestly, to the mods, this topic isn't to 'disrupt' anything or whatever, this is just a normal discussion about the caliber of games PS3 and 360 have had this year, and comparing them to find out who 'won', that's it.

With that being said a lot of people kept saying this isn't PS3's year, but I'm asking, do people still deny that now somehow?

Less then A - 1: Socom: Confrontation

360 has:

Um, no. Crappy GS reviews (on BOTH sides of the fence) do not make this the PS3s year. Both consoles have had good years, but if I recall correctly, 360 fans were swamped with how the PS3 would destroy all competition this year, and.... it hasnt happened. the only one that deserved its score was BFME2. the rest sucked, and were mediocre at best, even on the pc(although you can argue with C&C3 and its expansion, it was a total let down. most people would rather play world in conflict or medieval2)

TC, why didn't you put Bioshock as a AAA for the PS3? After all it only came out on PS3 in 08. You can put WKC on there as well.

I can undersatand that sony fanboys want desperatly to get their PS3 year as sony promessed but sorry, its not 2008 yet

mgs4 - played it, worst 60 bucks i've ever spent

i thought 07 was a better year for ps3

IMHO, They're pretty much even. 360 had some sweet games this year (You forgot Geometry Wars 2 :P), but the PS3 made it's keep this year with MGS 4 and LittleBig Planet.

Too close to call so yeah I'm doubting it.

I remember it was supposed to dominate and 360 was going to be trouble because of game drought. lawls :lol:

I'd like to point out that in your list there are MORE 360 games ranging from AA to AAAA than there are PS3 games in that same scoring category. Would that not imply the 360 had more to offer people this year?

1. You forgot to mention Tekken. Meaning you dislike RPG's, Stealth games, Racing, AND Fighting games. If you dislike all 4 of those genre's gaming isn't for you.

My favourite game of all time is Chrono Cross, an RPG. I loved the Splinter Cell games, and have invested hours upon hours into Smash Bros. and Smash Bros. Melee, and very recently Soul Calibur 4.

If someone doesn't like what you happen to think are the best games in their respective genres, it doesn't mean they don't like those genres. It just means they have a different opinion. How anyone can realistically be as one-sided as yourself, even in the informal setting of an internet forum, is completely and totally beyond me. Open your eyes.
