Poll Do you feel like Nintendo is back? (101 votes)
What do you guys think? They've been firing on all cylinders. Getting back 3rd party support, constantly pumping out games each month. New games caught me off guard like Mario + Rabbids.

I voted other. They never left. Wii U got shit 3rd party support, but the list of incredible Wii U games is strong.
Also from March 3rd until now the Switch has had the best lineup of ANY system.
First Nintendo console I've actually wanted to purchase since the NES.
I can't get one so I've been waiting.
Super fans should lay off people questioning the thing. It has the potential to pull in guys like myself (older Nintendo guys who don't know what a Pokémon is) but damn you're off putting.
just ignore the noise. reading back and forths between iandizion and azati will make anyone want to throw all their systems out and take up knitting. It offers features and some games I can't play elsewhere, so I like it. I tend to look for things that meaningfully expand my gaming options and it fits that bill wonderfully.

Umm, Nintendo 3rd party support has been awful since N64. But that system along with GameCube and Wii were considered successful without strong 3rd party support.
@AzatiS: You did say never, thats why i showed you discounted Nintendo games to make fun of you. You then tried to argue they never discount in first 2 years. WHich i again rektd that arse. I rektd that arse up and down the street. Them people were laughing.
You hiding behind @charizard1605 and other mods too much you know that ? Why you edited your original post to add BS in there afterwards ? You did this two times already. Also stop talking things out of your butt just to troll to try to annoy me in purpose. Lying is not the way to do it nor personal attacks , specially when i have people chasing me around to ban me and cant answer back in the same way.
Play fair or gtfo. I prefer to swear me than telling lies all over the place about me or what i said etc. Behave
Mario looks super rad, but that's predictable. When was the last time a mainline Mario game was actually outright bad? I would argue never. Sunshine is disappointing and boring in spots, but it's also one of the deepest games of its genre, has some exceptional highs of its own, and oh by the way is ripe for some exceptional speed runs. I'd certainly take that game over a ton of the shit barrels this forum has gassed up before: Gravity Rush, Tearaway, Destiny, Shadow Warrior, Mafia 2, Doom 3, a shit load of jrpgs.
Zelda was actually good for a change in 3d, that's a modern miracle I guess.
Otherwise they made a sequel ass sequel to Splatoon, Arms is aight. It's certainly an interesting concept and at least more of a video game than the tripe you goons gas up. But, it's not exactly all that deep. Hell it's not even the deepest of the new fighting game ips this year with For Honor coming out earlier this year. And For Honor isn't exactly Virtua Fighter in the depth department. And can't dismiss MarioXCom, but I'm sure its good.
They've made a remake of a Metroid game as our first real 2d Metroid offering since fucking Zero Mission, which was also a fucking remake by the way. What else have they really done? Like library wise the other machines still get a higher quantity of games than the Switch. I much prefer their interfaces all together.
To me they are who they've always been. They create a console that doesn't get much more than a really good selection of exclusives with a gem or 3 by the end of that consoles generation that were really were must plays. They are an exceptionally talented company with some of the best game designers on the planet working for them, but don't really leverage them in too many ambitious n creative outings.
Which means they are still one of the best, if not the best game company on the planet as far as producing games. But it's not that iron clad, and it's not exactly dominant either. I can skip a lot of their offerings, and not really give a shit.
Nintendo hasn't really changed in the last decade.
Standard procedure.
@PinchySkree: They have the Zelda, ARMS, Splatoon, Mario, Fire Emblem, Metroid, Xenoblade ko
In only one year. If that ain't back, wtf is?
Mario isn't out or confirmed good, Metroid is years away, nothing on Punch Out and good first party Megaman will likely never be on Nintendo again so no, they are not.
There needs to be a decent chunk of strong third party as well, 3 games a year isn't going to cut it.
Metroid just released.
New games.
@PinchySkree: Theyll come. Nintendo has a bunch of content for this year. They need some big things for the next few.
Better then ever
than ....than damnit
Oppsie
i forgive you now that i bought a switch and seen the light
@PSP107: nobody considered the GC a success at the time. And the Wii's 3rd party support was only awful because of quality. There were a substantial amount of 3rd party mini games and bullshit like that.
Back on topic though, Nintendo never left. Their 1st party games are second to no one. They are the best developers in this industry in both quantity and quality. It's not even close.
@xantufrog:
I've bought a wii & DS, 3Ds since the NES but I admit mostly for my kid.
I kind of want the switch for myself. I'm not a big handheld person but I'd mostly leave it docked.
Do you have a pro controller? Does it feel solid like Xbox one pad & PS4 pad?

Zelda and Mario Kart are remasters, Metroid is a remaster for 3DS there is no Metroid for Switch, there is no Fire Emblem for Switch (if youre really counting that dynasty warriors knock off lol), ARMS was gimmicky and forgettable.
At least they have Xenoblade and Mario coming to Switch

They are all much better than that garbage known as God of War and Detroit. Oh, then there's Knack 2 lol.
except God of War looks better than anything on competing platforms
try again

We're still hearing more about what the Switch won't have than what it will have, though i'd like to be proven wrong about the Switch being a repeat of the Wii U.
I still think that Nintendo would've gotten better third party support had made a traditional console that aimed for The Witcher 3 on the equivalent to PC ultra settings at a native 2160p30, because a system as powerful as i described would at least be able to play 1080p30 PS5 games at 720p (or 600p in the case of 1080p60 games)
@flashn00b: They would have had better support at launch, but the console would have flopped hard so support would have died off. The market for a powerful Nintendo console releasing late into a generation is about the same size as the Wii U market realistically, especially for a $500+ one.
Also, that last part doesn't make sense. If it can run a 1080p30 PS5 game in 720p30, then it would run a 1080p60 PS5 game in 720p60
Same old Nintendo so far for the most part
But Mario Odyssey and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 are coming soon , so there's some hope on the way. Hang in there.
As more people get the chance to play the Switch, they will realize it's not all it was bragged up to be.
Nintendo could maybe still take this success and run with it, but I'd say they would need to do a serious revision of the console at some point, and they would really have to have a string of massive hit games.
When the dust settles, it's likely that the Switch will be in a similar situation to the Wii - good early momentum but a steep drop-off after the first two years or so. Though I think the system will be compared a lot to the Wii-U, since it attempted to differentiate itself from its predecessor by being a more traditional gaming system but still failing to reach new highs....because the hardware is severely lacking.

Do you own a Switch?
As somebody that quited nintendo in n64 area on console department.
It feels like they finally start to return towards there old self again game wise. It feels like innovative again, totally fresh and new again. zelda delivered and mario also gives the same fibe to me as what n64 mario and zelda gave.
I really like how they turned a 180 over the last few generations that just didn't appeal to me in the slightest. The portability gives it the edge over ps/xbox as pc kinda overtook those platforms for me already for ages.
The question however is, if they gona keep up the quality delivering for multiple titles, or if they move into there old self again and start to half arse throughout the generation to sit it out, while holding back there next big zelda / mario projects for "next gen hardware".
This is why i most likely won't adopt there hardware until i know what year 2 and 3 is going to give me. I simple don't trust them much.
Also the price atm is just way to high for me to move into it. I simple don't find it worth it.
Anyway, game wise they surely surprise me. It feels like the n64 age again.
The gamecube/wii/wii-u all have been a disaster in my book when it came towards nintendo, even while people tend to praise the gamecube now, it was nothing more then a massive dud in my book.
