Do you game from GamePass primarily?

No because I’m not a subscriber mainly because I’m a collector and would rather just purchase my games to play at my leisure. However I definitely see the great value of the service and can certainly see how others could pretty much game exclusively on it.

Yeah, not for me. Get bored and move from game to game too quickly, before returning months or years later. I'd be one of those people who subscribe and forget to cancel, paying money for nothing.

I think Game Pass is in a bit of a transitionary period right now; changing from an experimental add-on service to a hugely ambitious centre of Microsoft's business model. Microsoft know they need a broad content portfolio to make it work, hence the recent acquisition spree. I think it's going to take some time for that to bear fruit.

Still buy games but a great majority of my gaming is through Gamepass. Last year I've beaten 49 games. From those 2 were on Playstation, 8 on Switch, 1 Steam, 3 on Xbox and... 35 on Gamepass.

Yea, pretty much sums up my sentiments. With that said, I don't see most gamers going streaming. It's not like movies where each movie is 2 hours long. Some games can take months to complete. I might as well just own it.

No. Don't care for that model. I like to buy my games and know that I can play them whenever I want.

I'm big on physical games so Gamepass (and other services like it) mean nothing to me.

But to the people that have it and enjoy it, like Ghost_of_Phobos, it sounds like a great deal.

It looks like a good service, just doesn't fit with my gaming habits. Could eventually grow into something that works for me, even if only to demo stuff that I'm on the fence about. Just not there yet.

The only time i bothered with it was when the outer world came out, had it for 2 months, first month being $1. When the service offers 4-7/10 shovelware kind of games, its not worth subbing to even for its reasonable price.

I use it more often than not, and it's affecting the way I buy games. Now I'll think before I buy a day one game, and wait and see if it shows up on GP.

I've used it to play Sea of Thieves, Gears 5 and Grounded by getting a subscription for really cheap for almost a year. That's about it.

I should make more use of my money tho. I feel like too many of the games are a bit broken or are missing settings. Some perform better on steam. I saw that AOE 3 is on there so imma go enjoy that.

Same. I just keep sub to it until I get ready to use on a game I'm ready to play on. It does come in handy on PC so I won't have to buy another console.

Hm, so far of the subscribers the majority are just "sometimers" - but we do have a few "mostly" and a handful of 100%. Interesting, because for the majority ("sometimes") we are all presumably closer to the decision boundary of "am I getting my money's worth?" but ultimately rolling with it

Never had game pass and don't have any intentions of changing that.

I just re-up on these services if there is a game I want to play, but not buy. I game so intermittently nowadays (apart from earlier in the pandemic) that short bursts are more than okay... Unless it's a game I know i'll play extensively/repeatedly.

It all depends like everything else. There a months where Gamepass games occupies all of my time and others where it just a few hours in the week.

Yeah pretty much. Always something new to play on it. I still buy games if they're not on it. I was all set to buy CP2077 in fact, until it ended up being shiters.

Yeah. Pay the sub and you get access to every game they have on Gamepass, which is a pretty healthy amount of games, I'd say. It's for both Xbox and PC. The library is still laughable compared to Steam, and I vastly prefer to own my games, but it's a pretty good service.

I've been subbing a bit for 1 dollar per month. I've heard they're going to (or have already?) increased the price, so I'm out.

On Gamepass over the past few weeks I have played Gears 5 (still have to do the expansion), Control, Forza Horizon 4, Ori (both of them), Full Throttle (dumb game but funny dialogue), Call of the Sea. Waiting for Grounded to go full release (played it when it first came out and it was fun). Probably played more games but I forget which ones

I got my Series X with the payment plan/ includes Game Pass Ultimate thing. It's $35 a month for two years. Taking that plunge I also decided I would resist purchasing any other software for the Xbox until those two years were up so I'd really get my money's worth out of it.

Most my gaming is on Steam, and probably always will be because there are way more titles available on it than available on Game Pass for PC. For PC Game Pass the titles I play are Streets of Rage 4, Battletoads, Ori, Sea of Thieves, Descenders, Grounded, Halo MCC, and Forza Horizon 4 when I can actually get it to connect to an online session. But, I usually play games other than these, and those are 99/100 times going to be on Steam.

Yeah pay for a sub and then end up having to buy all the games I want to play anyway like does gamepass have cyberpunk 2077 or BOTW or Super mario 3d all stars, contra collection, jedi knight 2, bloodstained, GTA 5, smash bro, hollow knight no mans sky.

Why would I pay to sub when im buying all these games that aren't in game pass and playing those ones?

Hollow Knight and No Man's Sky are on GP, and GTA V was for the longest time. Any game on GP will be available for purchase at a discount.

You get deep discounts with PS+ and Steam sales or CD Key websites na dude I don't buy that I save anything extra with CrapPass over those other providers.

I am addicted to a F2P game that isn't relevant to the question but which occupies half my overall gaming time. Of the 50% remaining time, at least 80% is through gamepass. Some of the things I have enjoyed in the past 6 months or so have been Wasteland 3, Gears 5, Gears Tactics, Dishonored 2, Control, Outer Wilds. Planning on RE7 and Doom Eternal soon. Then maybe some racing.

@gtx021: Im not fond of stacking, warps the leaderboards, and doesn't show a true representation of such leaderboards.

Most people on here have no idea of what TA is, and TA has been getting worse the last few years.

Also if you're talking stacks & achievements, then you must have a tidy sum when it comes to GS.
