[QUOTE="air0123"]PC's big online games cost money, WoW, Ever quest.Danm_999Those are MMORPGs, the exception to the rule as they require much more intensive facilities. And when you play them on 360, you still need to pay for XBL AND the MMORPG fees. So the point is irrelevant, XBL still costs twice as much. Ive always wondered how expensive it is to maintain an MMO server, I imagine its a insane amount.

So the point still stands there is no reason to be paying for XBL fees.

Xbox live service is quite decent even for the money it allows users to send video messages and stuff but the major upside to it is how simple it is to play online with. Just sign in and select xbox live multiplayer no needing to get a new account for every game like on PCResident_HiroX Fire has all that.

I think PC gaming and Consoe gaming are in two and whole different thing, experience, just they are differnet. PC is a lot easier for dev to do what they want, and allow thiem to make the best games. where as consoles its harder, but I am no developers, neither are you guys, so who knows?

You guys can bash it all you want. I have no problem paying for it because I know what I'm getting. If I didn't think it was worth $4 a month, I wouldn't pay for it. The whole expierience is better than anything I've ever played on PC. It's not just words flashing across a screen. It's a person I'm talking to, laughing with or cussing at. It evokes emotions I'll never get out of a keyboard.
Live is the definitive way to play multiplayer.
You're argument is flawed because all these things are available on PC for free. I can play the games free, (or at the same cost if it's an MMORPG). I can use the universal friend lists and grouping programs for free (and Live is coming to Windows) I can use the voice chat programs like TeamSpeak or Ventrillo free. You guys can bash it all you want. Someone said in here that something like 200,000 people are playing a certain game at one time and it is free. How many people do you think are playing WoW and everquest at one time? I can pretty much guarentee that it is more than that.air0123Probably a little south of a million in WoW, Everquest I'd say less. My point was, we should forgot about MMORPGs, because they are games that legitimately require fees, and that's fine. However, Gears of War, or Halo, do not legitimately require fees, because there are other FPS that have a heck of a lot more people playing across them, and don't require an online subscription.

2nd. So that all you console games have some sort of online function? So that you get more games that are online multiplayer then any other system? So you have unified friends lists? so you dont have to put up with seperate programs like PC gaming? so voice support is widly supported? So that you can easily avoid players that annoy you? so that you can easily find like minded players to play with?
Like I said you dont know what you are talking about.

XBL is a complete package as far as I am concerned. The coolest part is playing all the arcade games online with friends who now live thousands of miles away.
Like contra or street fighter. I dont think those games would have a quality online compenent without XBL.
I have never had a problem paying for certain services online, from MMO's to XBL.
For the standard support it provides across all games its a nice service. Its even cool to be able to open up a chat with those same friends that now live far away during a single player game and just BS while we play.
